Mark Sonja is one of the best person's I have dealt at hotspot energy. Every time I call, he is always there to answer my questions. Have a great regard for people like Mark. Even after purchasing 2 units of the ACDC12 a couple of years ago, I still get a great service. I am grateful to all who make this possible at this business. A big "Thanks of appreciation to Mark and his team".

Hot Spot Energy is a manufacturer and distributor of super efficient HVAC systems such as the CX34 hydronic heat pump for home and business. They claims were just about unbelievable, but they just got AHRI certification! They also sells a high efficiency portable AC unit, hotel room high efficiency PTAC systems, solar pool heating systems, solar panels, heat exchangers to maximize your existing AC unit by heating your hot water tank. The innovation is quite outstanding.

We drove to Virginia to pick up the ac dc 12000 btu unit. Matt gave me short tour of the facility and explained some of thier equipment they had and were working on for the future. Very friendly and helpful. We have been very happy with the unit. The heat works very well and it sure puts out some cold air. We run it strictly on solar and don't plan to put ac power to it. If you want a viable off grid option or grid tied with solar it's the way to go.

I bought the solar mini split unit and I love it! Works amazing. Runs off solar until there’s not enough output and then it runs off shore power. Cool thing is it not all one or the other. If solar is only 1/2 what’s needed the unit uses shore power to supplement. It has not only saved me large amounts on my electrical bill. It’s also increased my quality of life as I can keep my home cooler for less money!!

Great advice from John on the Hitzewelle tank I bought to replace an old solar water storage tank. Advice if you use brass reducing bushings at ports: use the rubber washers on the stainless steel plug that come with the tank. Teflon tape and/or pipe dope won't do it. The tank is top quality.

We bought their all DC 48V Heat Pump Mini Split last year along with their suggested solar panels. They shipped it all on one pallet. Arrived in wonderful condition and we had a local family-owned HVAC "Family Air" company hook it up for us. Within the first month, the main circuit board fried. We figure it must have been due to our 126 degree heat here in Tucson, AZ. Anyway, we contacted their tech, Devon, and he shipped us another board after going through the troubleshooting with us. We installed it and have been enjoying our system ever since! As I write this, I am purchasing a second unit for the rear of our home. It is winter now and the unit is nice and quietly delivering toasty heat. Our power bill is down to $19 from $150. Awesome. Thank you.

I have installed the pool heater for 2 customers now first one on a heat pump unit with 3 years trouble free operating the second one for 1 season. I can tell you based on the few reviews I've read before
This absolutely has to be installed by an hvac professiona. Not a pool guy. I would not recommend anyone untrained in brazing to utilize this product. Refrigerant leaks are due to poor installation. Many companies don't have this ability so anyone in Illinois looking to do this I will travel and I have customer testimonials now that prove this is a great product. I'm installing my third one in a week or so -
Purchased a FPH for my pool. The install was a nightmare and it was quite a undertaking...I had to coordinate the plumber, HVAC, and Electrician. It took multiple trips from all of them to finally get the system up and running. I will give the excuse that none of them installed one before and I cant imagine that any of them took the time to read the manual before they came. Total install costs came to 3k. The system has been working well since I have opened my pool this season. Time will tell if its effective. I will post an updated review towards the end of the summer.

We purchased a heat exchanger to heat our swimming pool about 2 years. Thanks to a botched install, by their recommended HVAC technician, we've gone through 4 compressors and more than $3000 in repair costs trying to get this system working correctly. (Not counting the ~$1300 initial install costs).
When it works, it works fine; keeping it working however, is a different matter. Be sure you have a qualified technician in the area before you pull the trigger on this system. -
Terrible, I have been trying to get a quote for over 3 months on a large industrial heat recovery system, today they tell me that they are just going to exit out of this, wasted 3 months, wish they would have just been up front and said it was something they couldn’t handle

Very bad experience ,bought the entire system , it came missing almost $750 in parts , they gave me a installer that did wrong , had to pay twice , after all I asked to return a controller that I was not able to use they said no . Please think twice before buying from the sales person Matt Angelo . There is an engineer very nice that helped me his name is Mark , I hope the owner can see what his employees are doing . Left behind a costumer that only asked for fair treatment .

This heater is supposed to heat
200 sq ft. It won’t even heat a pill box. I will return it and ask for a refund. -
The concept of heating my pool with the waste heat of my AC system is awesome, but the experience is an ongoing nightmare. We incorporated the heat exchanger into a new AC install. My HVAC guy will never do one again. I've never had a full season of pool heating because the mechanical connections keep leaking refrigerant. They keep sending me a cheap part or two with slow delivery and I keep paying for labor rework and recharging the system. I've spent more than the unit costs and still have a leaking system. So far this is a money pit! I'm posting because I want them to make this right and turn me into an ambassador for this product once again.

We've bought air conditioners from them twice. It took 6 months or more to receive them and then they broke in a year. We've had to spend thousands on replacing their units. Save yourself time and money and don't buy from these people.
