This company was great to work with from the start- they came out for a free estimate and spent a lot of time preparing the estimate (unlike another company I contacted). It was easy to schedule the work and they did it in a timely fashion. The work they did was excellent- I highly recommend!

The Mold Remediation specialist/ Project Manager, Nate Welch, is the absolute best. “Nate” is the consummate professional and his customer service is exceptional. Whether he is overseeing a job or “rolling up his sleeves” and conducting the work himself, Nate gets the job done. We are always amazed by the attention to detail and the “white glove” treatment that we receive whenever Nate and his crew are on the job. Judging by their work, the crew members are qualified and thorough; as another customer mentioned, the crew seems to take great pride in their work. We are always kept abreast of daily progress and we receive realistic timelines for completion of scheduled work. In a few instances, Nate drove all the way from VA to DC…just to ensure that all equipment and debris were properly removed from the work site areas. Now that’s customer service at its best! Truly impressed.

It’s almost a “no-brainer” for my wife and I, now…any time we have an issue around the house, the first person we call is Nate.

Being that Customer Service seems to be a vanishing commodity these days, ARS Inc. stands out above the rest. We are grateful and truly humbled by the way they have taken care of us, when we needed their services.

I recently walked into our finished basement after some heavy rain and discovered that we had water issues coming from somewhere. The carpet in half our family room was soaked. This was at 7 or 8 in the evening. Didn’t know who to call or what to do, so I started Googling away. That’s how I discovered ARS. I called that night and spoke to Nate Welch, who offered to come by the house that night to assess the damage and begin remediation.

After getting the space properly dried out and dehumidified a few days later, we realized the issue had been there for a while. When we started looking behind the baseboard and the drywall, we discovered our worst fear – mold. After discussing the process with Nate, the ARS team came in and professionally remediated the mold issues. They were thorough and cleaned up after themselves, leaving the place just as they found it - minus the mold, drywall, carpet and carpet padding that was damaged : )

The ARS team did a great job for us and I’d highly recommend them. It’s a gross feeling to discover a water issue in your basement. If you find yourself in that unfortunate position, you want to work with someone you can trust. Nate made himself available at all hours to address our concerns. He was very patient as we peppered him with questions. And he always provided his honest opinion and advice, even when that may not have been best for the company’s bottom line. That’s not easy to find today.

Just a quick note to thank you for an outstanding job! Working with ARS has been a pleasure, right from the start. You came out and assessed the mold problem in the unfinished part of my basement very promptly, and provided a detailed estimate which, by the way, was literally THOUSANDS less than one competitor’s. Your team carried out the job very professionally and thoroughly, explained what they were doing as they went, and took every precaution against damaging the many fragile items we had stored in the basement. We couldn’t be happier with the result.

After the Nor'Easter ripped through the area I was worried that there may have been damage to my roof. I didn't really know where to start with recommendations so i logged into my insurance company's (USAA) website to find recommendations. I submitted a work request to ARS Monday night at 8 p.m. and honestly thought that due to the mass amount of storm damage in the area I'd be lucky to have them out by early next week.

Tuesday morning came and Danielle from ARS contacted me and asked what the extent of the damage was; I told her what I could best describe and she said that she'd have a roofer/project manager out Thursday morning around 10 a.m.-12 p.m.. Later that day Danielle and her team at ARS sent electronic documentation to sign and return so that if repairs were needed, they could be done as expediently as possible which was an excellent feeling knowing that if issues were to crop up upon inspection, we could get to work.

I woke up on Thursday morning to walk my dog at about 6:30 a.m. and Nate the Project Manager was already on site, he was calling my cell phone to let him know he was here as I was walking outside, ha! Nate got right up on the roof, surveyed the damage, fixed a minor issue from the storm then scaled down his ladder and told me the health of my roof. He stated honestly that my roof was old (he estimated it to be 12 years old) but that it was in great condition. I've had a few "gutter-leaf cleaners" go up on my roof and say that it needs to be redone and they could do the restoration so his honest answer was really appreciated.

After fixing the damage he was off as quick as he was to arrive. I can't thank the ARS team enough and next year or so if I need any roof work done, I'll definitely be calling them for the job to get done right and at an honest price.

American Restoration was a life saver. I needed to remediate mold quickly and because it was unexpected did not have a large budget for the work. I called and the estimate was done the next day. They ended up doing more than was expected and we weren’t nickeled and dime. Nate was very professional and responsive. I would highly recommend this company.

ARS came in with an estimate thousands of dollars lower than the other companies that provided estimates. The process of signing the contract was made easier by their online program and the friendly office staff. When my credit union cause a glitch with payment, ARS office staff were patient and worked through the issue to get it resolved. The ARS crew came on time (calling ahead as promised) and were very neat and careful with the cabinets and appliances they had to remove to get to the mold, which unfortunately had spread through the walls into multiple rooms. They kept me informed with progress on a daily basis. Having mold is a nightmare, but getting it cleaned up by true professionals for a reasonable fee makes it less awful. In addition, they gave me some expert advice on products I can buy and measures I can take to address mold issues on my own to prevent futures problems. I am truly grateful to ARS for their help. They did an amazing job!

I recommend ARS if you want a repair and restoration team whom are honest, and don't just fix the problem, but check to ensure there aren't further underlying problems, while detailing exactly their plans and materials. My introduction to Shaun and Nathan was by pure accident. When I moved into my townhome 6 years ago, I had a mold issue in my basement caused by my neighbor. My neighbor and I agreed to split the price, and American Restoration sealed and removed our shared wall, paint the new one with an anti-mold paint, replace our basement carpet, and procure minor repair on paneling to keep water out of our home from the outside. The experience itself, especially picking out materials and working out an itemized budget and implementation plan was incredible, and SO DIFFERENT.

Impressed with their quality, promptness, and guarantee, I hired them to fix and replace a leaky skylight. I had twin 6 month year olds at the time, and the skylight was directly over the play area. ARS respectfully conducted their repair in the space, sealing the area to prevent dust and debris from entering our main home while my family prepared and ate meals next to the construction space. Again excellent work.

I hired them again to fix wood paneling on my awning and back door. When I had asked how I should treat the wood to survive the humidity of Virginia, Shaun and Nathan offered an entirely different solution. They had access to and experience installing polycarbonate wood – which while priced more than regular wood, lasts considerably longer, does not get moldy, and bugs and critters do not eat through it. ARS suggested this alternate solution, and executed it. The door in the back of my house hasn’t remitted water into our home since, especially in large downpours.

Finally, more recently, I noticed a small leak in our roof in our stairwell. ARS came out and inspected the space, then checked the roof, walls, and ducts. The problem ended up being a loose exhaust port. ARS resealed and fixed the roof. Again excellent work.
