Mike Stroud was a pleasure to work with! I called on a Wednesday, he was here the following morning, assessed my needs, sized everything CORRECTLY, and had financing options for me, at the ready! He really is a professional HVAC expert, you can trust him to be thorough, and do what he promises, which is a rare find these days. My system was installed quickly, and efficiently by his best technicians! They were punctual, friendly, experienced HVAC techs, and I came home just a few hours later, to a system that is powerful, quiet, and quality!! A(NO mess.) Yes! This is such great service based company. All of the workers from the front of house and all through the back of house I interacted with helpful, courteous and accommodating friends. I was particularly impressed how Mike took care for the details of my small A/C assistance project in finishing my basement, he set a guarantee and he was true to every word. If you like working and supporting good local businesses and you want to replace your a/c unit or heating you would be among many others who loved from going with Mike and his team. Caroline heating and air was fantastic! They have not even been gone for five minutes and I cannot express the appreciation I have for the professionalism. Our first experience with Caroline Heating and Air could not have been better. The office staff is friendly and easy to contact, and our tech, Eddie, was prompt, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable. In fact, he was able to give me a basic understanding of how an HVAC system works, while quickly doing our maintenance checks. Also, the company offers very reasonable prices on a maintenance package and some other work we asked about. We are their customers from now on.

Prompt service, quality work and reasonable prices

After going through the process of getting three estimates from different local vendors, I chose Caroline Heating and Air.
The owner, Mike Stroud, came to my 45 year old home and spent more than an hour with me to assess the current system and discuss several issues that I wanted improved or corrected. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He offered helpful suggestions -- such as installing a second return in the basement and relocating the thermostat to a more functional location -- and feasible solutions for the issues I raised. He promised to provide an estimate within 3 days, and he kept that promise. When I accepted his estimate and signed off on the installation contract, he was able to schedule the work in less than a week.

When the guys arrived on time, on the agreed-upon day, they greeted me in a friendly and professional manner, introduced themselves, and went to work immediately. (I think there were four of them!) Mike Stroud also came to my home to go over the planned work with the crew and to make sure they understood what I wanted. They were able to finish in one day, and before leaving, they went over with me everything they had done and showed me how to operate the new thermostat.

The job was completed the first week of November right before a cold snap. The new American Standard heat pump worked beautifully, and thanks to adjustments the crew had made, the house is now heated more evenly. The system is very responsive to the thermostat and operates quietly. I waited about a month to write this review, because I wanted to see if and how the electric bill would be affected. I had previously supplemented with heat from the wood stove when the weather is below freezing, but for the first five or six weeks after the installation I used only the new system to heat the house. I'm happy to say I'm very pleased with the first electric bill since the system was installed.

Mike Stroud is a proud owner of his business, and he truly puts the customers first. It's very refreshing to do business with someone so obviously honest and forthright. I visited their location in Ladysmith Commons several times when I was trying to make my decision, and everyone was friendly and helpful. I'm so happy with my decision and happy to write this review.

Anyone who is looking for a new system, or maintenance, or any help with home or business comfort systems should contact Caroline Heating and Air. They will do whatever it takes to make you a happy and satisfied customer like me. You will not be disappointed!
