No one likes to pay for electrical work, but sometimes it is unavoidable. In those times, I would highly recommend VanceElectric in Gates, NC. I have used him for both major and minor electrical service needs and would gladly recommend him and his team. They arrived on time and were kind as well as professional. A company that still operates with integrity.

Vance electric installed our Generac Generator. We were very happy with the installation process and will be using them for the annual maintenance.

First time user for generator maintenance. Very impressive. They kept me informed of when they would be here, when any parts they needed would be here, what it would cost, and how long it would take. This is the third company we have had out for our generator, and they will be our go-to from now on.

We finally got fed up with the power company's repeated outages during snow or other weather events and decided to get a backup generator for the house. Our next door neighbor recommended Vance and we went with him without the exhaustive research I usually do before taking on a major expense.

And I'm so glad we did. We got a 22 kw Generac propane-based generator and a 1000 gallon underground tank. The experience was superb from the very beginning to the very end. Vance is outstanding in every respect. In my opinion he has achieved excellence in his profession. The work was completed with highest quality, and well worth the money.

This was the fourth bid I had gotten for installing a whole house generator. The company came out to provide a quote very quickly, were extremely helpful in explaining all of my available options, and had a very competitive price. Furthermore, I felt very secure in their knowledge of what they were doing. Cannot list a single fault in the service I received.

I'm very pleased with the job Vance and his employees did with installing a backup generator. From providing a detailed estimate to setting the generator to final hookup and testing, Vance and his team were professional and reliable. I chose to go with Vance after researching 4 brands and 7 companies. His estimate was the most competitive and Generac offered the best warranty.

Vance and the team did a great job. My neighborhood is old and has frequent outages, I cannot afford to be without power due to my elderly mother living with us. Vance and the team were in and done in 2 days minus the inspection. I can be at ease now knowing I have automatic backup power. Thanks and awesome job. I needed someone to repair my 20kw generator which was throwing an ‘under voltage’ error. The original installer got out of the generator business about as quickly as they got into it. Finding competent generator support is not easy.

I’ve got above ground power and a generator out of commission in December is no fun.
Vance showed up, diagnosed a bad controller within 15 minutes and replaced it right then and there. I was expecting to hear that he’d have to order a controller and return next week but he actually carries inventory on his truck.

Vance had the generator up and running in 30min. Including a test for commercial power outage.
Service was fast, courteous and professional.

Vance is an amazing guy with vast knowledge in power generator. Great guy to work with. I had a second 22 kw Generac Generator installed and worked by Vance. Called during the storm yesterday due to some issues with generator. Vance was patiently and walked me through all the steps to get the generator back online. Called this company near end of July, was told it'll take two weeks to get an estimator to come out. When estimator came, he said for the whole house generator it'll need this module and that module, and total will be around $12000. Said he'll give us a written quote. That was more than 2 weeks ago. Nothing happened. My wife actually CALLED THEM and some office lady said the estimator will email us in a few days. So far it's been another week, nothing. No email, no phone call, nothing.
Ironically the estimator was boasting how if we bought the generator in August, we can enjoy Generac's extended warranty for free. Well, that's kinda hard to do when they can't even give us a proper quote!!
It's hard to do business with a company that can't even be bothered to respond to the most basic request. I'd give them ZERO stars if possible because technically, they did nothing. I hope ours is an isolated case and that you have better luck with these people.

Vancelectric quickly responded to my initial inquiry and set up an appointment for an estimate. Vance arrived as scheduled and we discussed generator options. The job would be a bit complicated because of where the generator needed to be placed. A couple of days later, a representative from a gas company came by to assess my propane needs, so it seemed as if the project was moving forward. Two months passed with no word from Vancelectric. I sent an email to ask when I would get my estimate and Bob sent this reply, “My apologies, I will ask Vance about this today to hopefully get the final proposal sent out to you soon.” I never heard back and we still have no backup power as another winter storm approaches.
