The good: Staff were nice and well presented. They answer phone and email questions as best they can. The job appears to have been done correctly. The bad: Very poorly coordinated repair schedule. My mixer sat in their shop for a week with no one touching it. The delay cost my restaurant money. It took altogether two and a half weeks to change the grease and perform minor repairs on my Hobart mixer and they charged a whopping $1100 for the project. If I knew it would have been this much of an expensive hassle, I would have just junked my old Hobart and bought a new one.

Scheduled a technician to show up last week and they never called or showed up. When I called today, they couldn't give a reason why they didn't show up. They said they will be here tomorrow, waiting to see if that's true. Don't recommend using this service if you have to. Very poor customer service.

These guys used to be great, but all the old technicians must have retired or moved on. Now they never return my phone calls and when they say their coming out they don't show up? The quality of Hobart equipment has gone way down hill, I won't be buying it anymore.

Called in a service request on July 21st for 3 Hobart mixers in our commercial bakery. Waited four weeks with no response on scheduling, called back August 19th and was told they are back logged and should expect to wait 6-8 weeks for a service appointment. Called again Sept 16th at the end of week 8 trying to get an update on scheduling. Finally got a response yesterday (Oct 5th- that's almost 11 weeks from initial call, for those keeping track) that they are just canceling my service request due to having over 1000 calls logged. What is the point of investing in Hobart equipment if they cannot follow through with service when needed? I will now be purchasing replacement mixers from other brands since our bakery is already struggling to keep up with production with 2 of our 4 Hobart mixers out of commission, and a third only partially functional.
No other repair techs that I have contacted will work on Hobart due to not being licensed to work on the brand or otherwise being unable to get parts.

Possibly the worst company I have ever interacted with (if I could give them zero stars, I would)! 8 months ago, they "serviced" my leaky commercial dishwasher. Two technicians came at different times and offered different diagnosis's of the issue. Neither was able to fix it yet Hobart charged my company $1600.00. We limped along with the leak until 1 month ago, when the dishwasher stopped draining. Again, I called Hobart. They told me they could service the dishwasher but didn't give me a specific day/time. After three phone calls over the course of a week, I was finally told that they were working 3-4 weeks behind. I would have LOVED to have that information at the first call! After searching around, I found another service company. They came out promptly (and on time) and in 15 minutes had diagnosed the problem, They are in the process of ordering parts, but, for the first time, I think the dishwasher might actually get fixed. If you have an Hobart appliance, search out others who can repair it if you don't want to be horribly frustrated with awful customer service and incompetent repair persons.

I purchased the Hobart HMM10-1STD 10 Qt. Planetary Stand Mixer with Guard & Standard Accessories (120V, 3/4 hp) for use in my bakery. Given Hobart’s reputation for durability and performance, I expected a reliable machine for our small-batch bread production. Unfortunately, my experience has been the opposite.

In November 2024, I submitted a service request due to a persistent unusual grinding noise in 2nd gear. The technician, inspected the unit but did not replicate the sound while running the mixer empty. I explained that the noise only occurs when the mixer is under load—mixing actual dough—but the concern was dismissed, and attention was instead redirected to minor loose screws.

By June 2025, the same issue remained. The same technician revisited, confirmed that the mixer was beyond repair, and said the case would be escalated to Hobart engineers for replacement approval. He even requested one of our typical formulas for review, which was a typical 65% hydration dough that we use.

After that visit, communication became inconsistent. I received a voicemail and spoke to multiple customer service representatives, all of whom assured me that a supervisor would follow up about the replacement. It is now October 2025, and there has still been no resolution, no replacement, and no definitive update.

For a piece of equipment this vital—and at this price point—Hobart’s lack of follow-through is extremely disappointing. The mixer itself was decent when operational, but mechanical reliability and service support have been well below professional expectations. As a small bakery, downtime on even one mixer directly impacts production and revenue.

Until Hobart addresses these issues and honors its service commitments, I cannot recommend the HMM10-1STD for commercial bakery use.
