Hiring a professional is a little bit like going out on a blind date. It depends on your willingness to engage on a human level. I've been a self employed metalworker and delt with many clients. I offer this by way of friendly advice. Never underestimate the power of a dozen doughnuts and coffee. So; if your looking for great results when you hire a pro, treat them right, don't be cheap, don't breath down their neck, and have your plans well organized. These guys are pro's that's a fact. Hire them only if you're ready to work with a pro.

I am a homeowner looking for a reputable and responsive electrician to diagnose and repair a simple issue. Trying to be scheduled was the first challenge, every electrician is busy, and not being home was an additional problem.
BOWIE scheduled me within 10 days, and came out sooner. The problem was simple, and rectified in a fair amount of time. The tech called me to tell me what he had to do, to get everything up and running.

They come through, are easy to work with and prices are typical. What is not typical is how responsive and friendly they have been with us. They always do a good job.

Fantastic experience working with Bowie. Cory not only went above and beyond to wire in a new 220 outlet for the electric car, they also let him come back the next day to fix a mistake of mine (I had not specified the right outlet). Very fair price too - $400 less than another quote. We will definitely be using them again.

Stephanie replaced all of our lights with LED's and all of our old worn out switches and outlets. Now when you vacuum, the plug doesnt just fall out of the wall. Also the house is brighter and I no longer have to change lightbulbs! Stephanie was professional and does good work, the job took a few days but she was able to come in in-between other jobs to get things done quicker. Bowie is my first call for anything electric

I had Bowie do a rewiring of an old house and expand a panel. Excellent experience. Easy to communicate and punctual with appointments. Ron, Garret, and their team demonstrated excellent workmanship on the project, with neat wiring and clean installation. Would be happy to go with them again for future projects.

I had a recessed ceiling light quit working. Changing the LED 2-prong bulb did not fix the problem. I called Bowie and made an appointment. Tiffany came to the house on time, diagnosed the problem quickly, and went to her truck to see if she had the part. She did have the part because Rick at Bowie had the foresight to include the potentially needed part in the truck, based solely on my earlier description of the problem over the phone. Problem fixed. It's good to work with the experienced and knowledgeable people at Bowie.

We called Bowie to fix an issue with the light of one of our bedrooms. We own a newly built home from 2019. What it was expected to be an easy job turned out to be a big one. Tiffany went above and beyond to make sure our family was left in a safe situation. After doing her first assessment she found out that the cable was broken somewhere between the ceiling fixture and the switch. After opening a hole in the ceiling, she found out a completely destroyed cable with the copper exposed posing a real safety hazard that the builders left without fixing during the construction of the home. Tiffany changed the cable and substituted it for a new one, installed the light fixture, and closed the holes in the ceiling. We are deeply grateful to Tiffany for her commitment and customer obsession. We definitely recommend Bowie to anyone looking for quality electrical services.

I had Ryan come out to take a look at getting rid of our knob and tube so we could insulate our attic. He was patient with answering all our questions. We ended up going with the rewire, a new electrical panel, and a 240 outlet for an EV charger on the exterior. Garret and Jay came to our house for 6 or 7 days, it was a big project. They were able to replace all our wiring and they only made 3 or 4 holes to do so in the whole house. They were creative, thorough, reasonably clean, and good communicators. They were able to replace all the old knob and tube and add some outlets in rooms that have textured lath and plaster that we love and it's tough to match the texture. They did so without making a single hole in those rooms.
These guys are the real deal.

Mark and his team did an excellent job with a dedicated circuit I needed for a sauna project in my backyard. Pricing was fair and the job was professionally done. No complaints and would definitely use them again in the future!

Ryan, John, and the Bowie Electric team have been helping me over the last couple of months re-wire and upgrade all things electrical (re-wiring and removing knob & tube, adding new outlets and switches, new fans, light fixtures, etc) at my very old house. They have done excellent work, are always on time, and kind and accommodating as I am a new homeowner and the scope of what I needed done has changed in real time. Please hire Bowie Electric! I will gladly work with them for any future electrical updates.

Rick, who took my initial call, was extremely knowledgable and helpful and took extra time
with me over the phone to help me isolate an issue and get the correct work scheduled. Giovanni, the electrician who came out a week later, was quick, efficient and friendly. I would highly recommend Bowie for fast, affordable outlet (GFCI, in my case) installations, diagnostics, and general electrician work. I’ll work with them again in the future, I’m sure!

Requested a quote for the installation of an outdoor outlet. Zero response. :(

Is half a star allowed? No star?

Tried twice to do business after a personal recommendation from a realtor. Once I had Chuck over for a quote to rewire my whole house. When I called the business the man who answered the phone accused me of lying, said there’s no way Chuck would agree to get me a quote in less than 5 days and accused me of making it up? It was strange. Two days later I got my quote emailed to me from Chuck with an apology.
Today I called to make an appointment to update some outlets. I was ‘schooled’ that it didn’t require re-wiring, told that I probably didn’t buy tamper-resistant (I did), and offered an appointment 2 weeks out. When I mentioned that was a long wait, he asked if I was talking to other electricians(?), said he wasn’t going to ‘hold an appointment for me if I was just shopping around’ and raised his voice at me- it was all very strange. AVOID. I called As You Wish, dealt with a LOVELY receptionist and have an appointment for Monday for over $800 of work. I have a $20,000 rewiring quote from Chuck I won’t be using. Your loss, Bowie.

Upon a redditor's recommendation, I called Bowie electric to get a quote for several small-ish jobs I had piling up. After rattling off all the jobs to the gentleman who answered my phone call, he said that since they were small jobs, they would charge by the hour at a rate of $180/hr. Before I could comment, he quickly pivoted and said that somebody told him that the job is not that small and that they would need to send a technician out to provide a quote. Ok. But then, instead of scheduling and dispatching the technician themselves, they wanted ME to call and chase down THEIR employee. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and called the number they gave me. I left a message and, needless to say, the technician never replied back. Terrible customer service. And based on some of the other reviews I read here, I probably dodged a bullet.
