Last year, we hired Noriko to re-design our backyard including a new patio, hardscaping/pathways, privacy screening, and plantings. This was our first time working with a landscape architect, and Noriko exceeded our expectations.

She listened to our concerns about the existing yard (including some tricky drainage issues) and combined our two styles to create a plan that we never would’ve come up with on our own. The new design feels special, unique, and a far better use of space than anything we imagined. At our request, she also helped us replace our lawn with a more eco-friendly option.

We found Noriko to be responsive to feedback and pleasant to work with. She was quick to answer questions and has continued to provide support during the construction phase.

We hired Noriko several years ago to help us redesign and plan our backyard into a more useful living space and rain garden. Noriko was incredible throughout the process and really listened to what we wanted and implemented that into a cohesive plan. This included both a complete design of the backyard as well as what to plant where and how to manage it. I hired Noriko to do landscape design on my front and backyard. She was very detail oriented and keen on learning our preferences for plants and using of the space to make sure the final product was to our satisfaction. She took a lot of notes and drafted up plans for laying out all the plants, shrubs, and trees - I still refer back to these when making updates to the yard. She helped coordinate things with our landscaper and was responsive when we had to make some last minute changes due to plant availability. Noriko did about 3 site visits, including a follow-up to make sure things were to spec. She’s obviously very passionate about her work and takes the challenge of designing your yard seriously. In all, a great experience and I would recommend her services to anyone looking for landscaping design work.

I have had the professional pleasure of working with Noriko Marshall for the last year on a multi-level project in Clyde Hill-- a total landscape revision including a very intricate and personalized Japanese Garden, complete with water features, raised decks, walkways, and many other aesthetically pleasing features. She has worked closely with the owners, asking relevant questions and incorporating those thoughts into reality. Her knowledge of plants, lighting, and feng shui has been very rewarding to watch come to pass on this project. The harmony and peace this is generating for the Stake Holders has been achieved thru the wonderful balance the design encourages. I have been the overall site PM bringing many of the different tradesmen together--but Noriko 's professionalism, personal touch and insight is what has really brought this together.
