I called NWSR on a Wednesday and they had a team out the next day to do the work. I needed my sewer line dug up (7' deep) and repaired. They didn't even ask me for a deposit. They did a great job in record time at less than half the price I was quoted from another plumbing service. The other service wanted to bring in a machine to dig it up and NWSR just had two guys who were able to dig it up in about 4 hours. Highly recommend!

Ed was amazing. I called him at 9:30pm on a Saturday night after I spent the entire afternoon and evening trying to get a basement shower drain to stop overflowing. He was there in about an hour, took a look at my basement bathroom, had the city sewer diagram on his phone already, and had me walk with him to see what the best (as in fastest and easiest) option would be to get a camera in the line. The line was connected to the neighbors (good old Ballard shared lines), and he was able to use the neighbors clean out to scope the line, locate the culprit (tree roots), and get a water jet down there to clean the line all the way to the sewer main.

He was polite, knowledgeable, and had me taken care of in under 2 hours. AND he did not charge an "off hours" rate- just his usual as if I had scheduled him in advance to come out during work hours. AMAZING!!!

Our line to the city sewer got plugged due to a severely offset pipe.

The first company that came out an ran the camera to the blockage told us it was nearly seven feet deep and it would cost us about $6000 and three days to dig it up and repair it.

I asked Ed and Northwest Sewer Repair for a second opinion. They ran the camera in for free, told me that the breakage was only about four feet down (which turned out to be true) and that they could do the entire repair for $2500.

They finished the job in two days (could have been one but they had to wait for the city to inspect it) and jetted out my line free of charge. They also showed my wife and I a full camera video from the clean out to the city drain.

For as long as I live in Seattle, I won't bother calling another plumber. Northwest Sewer Repair is now my trusted plumber.

We had Ed and his crew do a sewer repair for the purpose of selling our home, and were totally pleased with the punctuality, professionalism and tons of personality we encountered! We're fans for life and will call Ed first from now on!

I used Northwest Sewer to replace my entire sewer line from the house to the street. The original line form 1946 had multiple holes in it with roots coming through. I had other companies quote it as well. Ed beat their prices and his bid included replacing the entire line, where the others were simple patching the holes. I thought this was a great value. With the other company's bids, I would still have to worry about additional holes opening up over time in the old concrete line. His trenchless method produced minimal impact to our yard, Just a hole on either end and he put the yard back to the way it was in the end. I would recommend him.

There are few people in the world now who do business on a handshake, but that is what you can expect with Ed. Not only does he keep his word, but delivers more than promised at the fairest rates in Seattle. No complicated quote sheets that take a week to arrive or being put on hold, NW Sewer are there on the spot and Ed personally makes sure the job is done right. Having dealt with a number of West Seattle providers, I can honestly say that Ed and his team are head and shoulders above the rest.

We share a sewer line and when our neighbors discovered a sink hole underneath one of their flagstones, we knew we had a problem. We asked four companies for a quote and they all had a different solution for the problem. We choose Ed because of his experience, equipment, and he had the best solution for about 40 percent less. Our sewer joint was 11 feet beneath the surface and there is little room to maneuver. The workers were very polite, removing the fence and lining the walkway to hold the significant amount of dirt. Once they opened up the hole, we also learned that the main had a significant crack, so in addition to bursting our pipe and replacing about 50 feet, Ed also lined the shared main. This only added one day and included a scope for our neighbors, who shared the lining expense. I always felt like Ed was honest and fair, and I would highly recommend him!

Working with Contractors for a living, I would like to share a recent experience I had replacing our Seattle side sewer. Earlier this year, we had a "flow issue" that required inspection and cleaning of our 90 year old line. Unfortunately, the inspection identified numerous locations in the pipe that were broken and posed risk of failure. With the line cleaned and the problems identified, I went to work to find a qualified Contractor and a fair price. I contacted multiple local Contractors and experienced a variety of approaches.

First there was the 'bait-and-switch", I had a detailed conversation outlining the project, lengths/depths/etc. all information from the cleaning/inspection. Based on the information I received a verbal estimate, but "Let me swing by in a few days to confirm the price", and without explanation the price went up (+20%).

With the next Contractor I spoke to I experienced, "take it or leave it", I said Wallingford, side-sewer replacement, and was told the price. As my project had relatively good access/work areas, I did not feel comfortable with an average price that too seem high (+10%).

Lastly, I called Ed at NWSR, he answered, I explained the job, he gave me a price over the phone, the same price the first Contractor started with. Additional, Ed replaced more line than we discussed and did not ask for more $, all he said was, "When we got down there it did not look great, so we replaced it".

I could not be happier with the service and total experience I received from Ed and Northwest Sewer Repair. Also, if sewer work gets slow, NWSR can go into the landscaping business, they restored our rock wall and mature plants/landscaping back in better shape than it was before they started. Thank you Ed, you made a painful experience as enjoyable as possible.

We called Ed from Northwest Sewer Repair on a Sunday night looking for a bid on a side sewer repair Ed came out the next morning to look at the project. He gave us a very reasonable bid for repairing a blown out corner of the sewer line plus “relining” of a 25 foot section that was under our house and in danger of collapsing. The first day of work he repaired the break and made sure we were able to use our sewer. The second part of the repair work turned out to be more than expected. There was a toilet connected half way through the 25 foot run that made it difficult to repair. This included digging another hole. Ed stuck to his original bid although it was obvious there was a lot of extra work involved. Ed and Carlos finished the job, patched the holes and left the area clean. We would highly recommend Ed and Northwest Sewer Repair if you have any side-sewer issues.

First off: Ed and his team at Northwest Sewer Repair are highly recommended. Secondly: Many plumbers exaggerate the problem to justify higher fees in the attempt to take advantage of the urgency of the situation and lack of experience from the homeowner. My experience with NW Sewer was the exact opposite.

My experience: I had a backup into my basement due to a clogged sewer line in our Seattle triplex. Before hearing about Northwest Sewer Repair, I called out another plumbing company who scoped the line and discovered roots had made their way into my clay pipe between the sidewalk and the street, right under the grassy city right-of-way. They were able to snake ($400 later) and unclog the line but warned of a possible offset and future problems if not addressed very soon. They wanted to dig down 6 feet and replace the offset for $6,000+. The also suggested reline the pipe for another $8,000+. After many Google and Angie's List searches and calls to other plumbers for other opinions and bids, I came across Ed. He was immediately different from the other guys in that he didn’t jump to conclusions, start selling me on a solution or pressuring me to make a decision. He simply said he would like to take look and draw his own conclusions. We then scheduled a time for his tech and him to scope the line and locate the roots. Ed concluded there indeed was a clog due to roots, but found a much more long-term and economical solution that involved installing a clean out on my property and jetting the line. He and his crew did a great job, and even worked around the fact one of our renters was moving in around the same time the work was being done. After the line was jetted and cleared, he concluded there was no offset in the line and it was completely unnecessary to replace this section and even more unnecessary to reline. Ed is a very nice guy and straight shooter when it comes to addressing the problem and not someone who is going to inflate what needs to be done to justify charging a higher fee. My wife and I are extremely happy to have found Ed not only because of his work on this project, but because we now have a trusted professional for when the next plumbing need arises. It was a joy working with Ed. I think you will feel the same.

Ed and his team were incredible. I had Rotorooter come out and clear a blocked side sewer. They quoted me at $6,000 to repair the line permanently. Thankfully, I called Ed, who showed up within an hour, checked things out, and quoted me at a fraction of Rotorooter's price - and he did the work the very next day. In the end, he had to do some extra work because of some buried concrete, but he kept his price the same. I highly recommend Ed for his honesty, quality, and service.

I am very pleased with the work done by Northwest Sewer Repair. Hands down, Ed is the BEST in town. His response time was nearly immediate -- he came by a few hours after I called for an estimate *AND* his bid came in nearly 50% lower than the other 2 companies that had me provided estimates. The work was done on time as promised and the landscaping looked completely undisturbed. No surprises other than finding a company that isn't out to fleece you. Truly impressed. Thanks again, Ed!
