I have the greatest praise for the team at Jackson Design Build. I benefited from their creativity, patience, flexibility, professionalism and, perhaps above all, outstanding work and craftmanship on the journey that began in early 2019 when they brought my entry and living room back from water damage to the plaster in my 1920s era house and then through the process later in 2019 of designing a bathroom that is a functional (in a tough upstairs space of angled ceilings) and simply lovely and flowing space and then the work in 2020 to realize that vision and update the rest of the upstairs at the same time. And all of this in times that we could not have imagined in early 2019 and that created challenges for finding a new way to work and live. Even with the necessary stoppage and delays due to the pandemic, Josh, Chris and the team at Jackson Design Build kept me up to speed on what was coming next and kept workers (and me) safe through the process. The depth of the whole team was stellar, from Lisa’s ability to connect with and foster my style, Josh’s calm management and Chris’s ability to track and get absolutely everything done no matter the challenge and on to the rest of the crew and the talented tradespeople, including Yuri, who worked tirelessly and with such creativity to make the tile even more beautiful; Darren, who created an oasis of blue; Brian, who exemplified patience and diligence on the electrical work; and the floor team, who worked and reworked quickly to finish just as the virus was shutting down everything. And I’d be remiss by not also praising teams for plumbing, closet design and drywall (especially in creating an arch to mirror an arch finished in plaster). Thank you, Jackson Design Build.

JDB remodeled our second story completely, eliminating wasted dead space from an unused chimney and double walls. They took two bedrooms, one bath and turned it into three bedrooms, one and a half baths. Our new main bath is a mini-oasis for us parents and a splash park for our kiddos! I feel like every bathroom with young children needs a tile surround with a floor drain next to the tub! We couldn’t be happier. Working with JDB through the remodeling process was easy-peasy, too!

We had wallboard dropping out of the bedroom ceiling and a leak in the kitchen as well. JDB discovered rot all down the west wall of the house and some problems with the south wall too. They suggested and used more leak-proof ways of dealing with construction details than we originally had while keeping the same look. Now we should be set for a long stretch of low maintenance. They did an amazing job despite dealing with Covid and the lead on our job going off to start their own business. I highly recommend them: everyone else thinks they are good too so there's a waiting list. When they get to you, you'll get the same conscientious oversight of your job that they gave us.

JDB was professional, courteous, flexible, and accountable throughout the entire design & build process for our basement remodel. We were hands-on clients - we provided a conceptual design to start with, we had particular preferences, and we wanted to self-perform chunks of the work. JDB worked with us every step of the way, providing alternatives, identifying potential pitfalls, and hand-holding when we needed it.

The build team was great. They completed the project on time and on budget, with no unexpected change orders and no major problems. The team took accountability for the few small issues that did arise. They were supportive and flexible with the elements of the work that we did ourselves, giving us plenty of advance notice of their look-ahead schedule and identifying where our work would fit in to keep everything moving. Finally, it was clear that JDB took COVID seriously, and we felt safe throughout construction, which was critical because we were at home for most of the work.

We worked with JDB on a basement remodel and were very happy with both the process and the outcome. We recently hired JBD to oversee a comprehensive project involving the demolition of existing driveway retaining walls, the construction of new concrete walls, and the relocation of the water connection to our house. JDB remodeled all 3 bathrooms, plus laundry room, in our 1960’s home in Shoreline. Lisa and Reed walked us through the design process, making creative choices within the space constraints. Simon’s value engineering comparisons clarified our choices. The planning and workmanship during construction were excellent. When a few problems arose, as is inevitable in remodeling, JDB stepped up to work with us to find solutions. We chose to stay in the house during the 6-month project, quite a savings. Sharing the house with JDB’s folks was surprisingly smooth, and they worked hard to keep us comfortable. We are delighted with the results, and look forward to calling on Josh, Mollie, Chris, Michael, Kelvin, and company for our future projects.

We had a very positive experience working with Josh and his team at Jackson Design Build are we started to explore who we wanted to move forward with our project. After meeting with several design build firms, we knew we had to go with Jackson Design Build, and I am SO glad we did - Every interaction was professional, positive, warm, friendly, supportive, and honest. We lived in the house with kids and a dog while having a staircase added, losing a bedroom, and experiencing the daily sights and sounds of a full basement remodel - Being with the JDB team was our daily life for these months, and we genuinely enjoyed getting to know them. The team went out of their way to accommodate our family needs and keep our house feeling like home as much as possible. And the finished results - WOW. I can't believe this is our house. The newly remodeled areas blend beautifully with the character of our 1948 home, the details are so polished, and the layout flows with ease for our active family.

We hired Jackson Design Build for a major remodel of our 1908 Phinney Ridge bungalow, and they exceeded our expectations in every way. We originally met them at the Seattle Home and Garden show and selected them based on their expertise with vintage Seattle homes.

They did a full main floor remodel of our home, including new kitchen & bathroom and new hardwood floors, plus a downstairs laundry remodel and conversion of unfinished basement space into a hobby room.Their designer Lisa was great! She has an excellent aesthetic sense and really took the time to listen to us and understand our style, resulting in a home that we have been delighted with.

Communication was fantastic throughout. They kept us informed and their project lead Chris took the time to get our opinion on decisions while construction was underway. They also finished the project on time. They promised we’d move in before Thanksgiving and we moved in literally the day before!

We couldn’t be happier working with Jackson Design Build. From our first meeting through project completion, they exceeded our expectations in every way.

The team itself was the real standout. Everyone we worked with was collaborative, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in getting things right. You could tell they cared deeply about their craft, and it showed in every interaction. These are smart, capable people who brought great ideas to the table while always respecting our vision.

This was especially important to us because we had a unique space, as many old Seattle houses are, and needed creativity along the way to get it done. On top of that, when you have people coming into your home everyday for months, the people really matter. By the end, we felt Oliver was not just someone we worked with but a great friend.

What really impressed us was their communication and project management. Renovations are stressful (especially living through it!), and we had busy schedules, but Jackson Design Build kept us on track without being pushy. Lisa was incredible because she gave us clear guidance on what decisions needed to be made and when, which took so much pressure off our shoulders. We always knew where things stood and what was coming next.

If you’re looking for a contractor who delivers beautiful work while making the process as smooth as possible, I can’t recommend Jackson Design Build highly enough.

It has been 7+ months back in my house since Jackson Design Build finished work on my bump-out addition and whole house refresh and I am so pleased with how everything turned out.

I started working with JDB in 2024 and right from the start they impressed me with how respectful they were of my space and how they were able to listen and translate what I wanted into concrete plans. Most of 2024 was spent in the design phase and working with Lisa was a joy! She understood my style well and was able to find great solutions for the problem areas in my home. She suggested meaningful changes and improvements while not going overboard with choices that didn’t fit my aesthetic or needs.

Construction took place over the first half of 2025 and while there were a few small issues that were discovered and a few change orders, on the whole the process went much smoother than I was anticipating. Michael, my lead carpenter, was excellent and explaining where the team was in the processes and answered any questions I had. I especially appreciated that he and Chris kept things running smoothly so I never felt like I needed to be on-site all the time, I could trust JDB to take care of everything, which made the whole process way less stressful than it might have been otherwise.

Construction completed in about 6.5 months and I love my house now. I am so impressed with the craftsmanship and attention to detail that went into my house. Even though the original house was built in the 1950’s, the JDB team did a great job of making sure everything feels cohesive with the new addition and yet still fits the mid-century details of the house I like.

I was incredibly impressed by the professionalism of Josh and the whole JDB team. I have no regrets about working with them, they eliminated a lot of stress from the process. Living in my renovated house, I just wish I had made the updates sooner.

I hired Jackson Design Build to update significant parts of my dated Mid-century home. The project was complex, and included replacing 90% of my home’s original windows, renovating the kitchen and main bath, relocating a laundry, and updating my home’s electrical service panel. JDB complete the project on time and within the budget that we negotiated. The design and construction phases of the project went smoothly, communication was always excellent, and construction staff took great pains to minimize dust, noise, and disruptions. JDB’s design team was superb. The modern designs they came up with perfectly harmonize with my home’s Mid-century aesthetics and natural setting. I would not hesitate to use JDB again.
