I have had two stellar experiences with TradeWinds: an AC replacement in 2019 (during the infamous 100º+ heatwave that year) and a furnace tune-up in 2022. They are professional and courteous at all times - and non-scoldy too. (It had been a long while since I'd had a furnace tune-up and I KNOW it was ugly in there.) TradeWinds is my go-to for anything HVAC related. They're awesome.

Alan was very knowledgeable and made good suggestions, which were very helpful for me (a first time homeowner). The appointment was at 8, and he showed up right on time, which I appreciated. All in all, my expectations were exceeded and I'll certainly use TradeWinds again in the future.

We had mold removed from our house and needed to get a commercial dehumidifier quickly. We called TradeWinds in the morning while the mold was being removed; got an estimate a few hours later and had the unit installed the next morning! The technician was so nice and installed the unit quickly and gave us all the information we needed about the unit. Thank you TradeWinds!

I engaged Tradewinds for a second opinion on our 2 yr-old Lennox furnace which another reputable HVAC company (but not a Lennox dealer) said had a cracked heat exchanger. Alan is clearly experienced with Lennox. He thoroughly examined and tested the unit and found no problems (no excessive carbon monoxide, combustion and gas pressure within normal limits, no corrosion). We greatly appreciate the work of Alan and Jace and the responsiveness of Jordan in the office. We will be a Tradewinds customer in the future.

Ken did a fantastic job. Tradewinds got me in quickly and was able to find the faulty Lennox motor the same day. First time using them with nothing but great things to say.

March 2021:

I'd like to update on my original post. Since TradeWinds put in the new furnace and AC for me years ago, the new Android based tablet controller unit has been functioning erratically from time to time. For example, in the winter time I'd like to set my thermostat to 67 at all times. but the unit would adjust itself to 72, automatically, without any manual input from anyone. At one point, it happened 4, 5 times in a single day. I requested TradeWinds to come in and take a look. Amid Covid, Ken was able to come in, all masked up and kindly went through the diagnostics with me at my house. He then followed up with his contacts at Lennox and colleagues to come up with different proposals and solutions. A couple of weeks later, he voluntarily suggested to come by again and replace some wiring work, ALL WITHOUT ME ASKING. When he came back, he discovered the original wiring was all weird (i.e. from basement to 2nd floor then back down to first where the thermostat is located.) that was a surprise to him (and me). He did not complain once (I assume he didn't allocate enough time for the work originally); he came up with some clever solution to put in a new wiring system for my whole unit, with great patience. After all that, Ken went through the whole diagnostic steps once again to make sure everything was in working order. This whole experience working with Ken was FANTASTIC. Great customer service work, Ken!

It's a pleasure to work with TradeWinds. Obviously not everyone replace their AC and furnace often; when you do I highly recommend the team at TradeWinds. First Duke came to my place, took a look around, listened patiently for my needs and complaints. Then he used all of that information to put together several proposals for me to pick from. We then spent the next month going back and forth several times with my constant questions and change-of-minds. Duke never seem to be bothered. Finally I decided on a proposal and time for the install! Ken and Alan were the install team. Both were super courteous and very nice to work with. They showed up on time, putting down tarps and shoe wraps to keep my floor clean of dirt. They worked nonstop for 6+ hours, not even stopping for lunch! When Ken and Alan took away my existing units they also put many anchors down to keep my existing duct work secured. When they installed the new units, they tightly wrapped around all the new fittings, secure them with anchors in several places. At the end, the new setup almost looks like an art piece! At the end of the day, they never showed tiredness; still patiently explained everything about the new system to me, down to minute details.

I don't normally write positive feedback on services. But TradeWinds team really left a very positive impression on me. I certainly do not mind recommending them to anyone who has HVAC needs.

Duke, Alan, Ken, you guys are super!

Guys showed app on time, we're friendly. Replaced our old boiler in 1 day. Redid all the piping to the boiler. It looked like a work of art. I would highly recommend Tradewinds for any of your needs ken and the crew where awesome one of the most professional jobs i have ever been involved with .

Ken, Alan and their crew did a meticulous job installing our new furnace, air conditioner/heat pump and humidifier. Their attention to detail and professionalism in dismantling the old system and installing the new system were amazing. They arrived promptly, skillfully fabricated all the necessary ductwork, programmed and taught us how to use the wi-fi enabled thermostat and left the work area clean. It was obvious that they took pride in their workmanship. I could not be more pleased with their work and would highly recommend them.

My furnace/AC had an alert code issue and they tried to diagnose it remotely. It worked temporarily but when that ultimately didn't fix the issue they came to my home and took the time to repair my system.

They were thorough, generous, and repaired the alert code.

Incredible business and highly recommend!

When I discovered our AC was not working, I called TradeWinds. Ken was in my area and was just finishing a job. He arrived at my house in 20 minutes (pure luck!) and diagnosed the problem. The condenser was shorted out. Ken gave me several options, and I chose to have a Lenox AC installed. Alan and another tech installed the system 4 days later! Fantastic service!

Our AC went out during the first hot week of the summer and TradeWinds was the only company that was able to fit us in the next day. Ken was very professional and explained what the issue was and how he repaired it. We thought the price was very reasonable, would recommend TradeWinds to a friend.

2023 review:
Ken and Brandon from Tradewinds were prompt, professional and thorough with our HVAC tuneup today. Tradewinds installed a new HVAC system in 2021 and it's been working well.

2019 review:
Tradewinds was one of four companies to respond after I reached out through Yelp very early on a Monday morning. They were the only one to say they were happy to help and could call us back right away. (The other companies’ responses were rather generic.) Not only that, they were able to visit within just a few hours in peak summer season, as well as travel from the way opposite side of town from where we live. Ken Jung was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I thoroughly commend him and Tradewinds for the excellent service, explanations and price. We will definitely work with Tradewinds again.

Kenn, Duke, and their team do a great job, and at competitive prices. They are responsive and professional. We have used them at many of the properties we manage, and we've used them at our own homes too. We highly recommend TradeWinds!

I'm in the commercial facilities management business, so I understand how the installation of a heating and cooling system should proceed. From the start, the people at TradeWinds were the most thorough and professional of anyone I invited to bid on our job. Our house never had AC, so this was not as routine as most jobs. TradeWinds staff were not just interested in selling us mechanical equipment, they made sure we received the most optimal system. They spent more time than anyone examining the house and made sure they specified the correct equipment (with no attempt at upselling us on units we didn't need.) On installation day they did not leave until every detail was exactly as it should be, for a price that extremely competitive. Professional, courteous, and fair, I have been recommending them to anyone I know who is looking for heating and cooling work.

Had a really fantastic experience with TradeWinds. They came right away, did a thorough check on my furnace, and were able to replace a busted part same-day. Also, clearly very knowledgable and willing to share and patiently explain all their findings. Will certainly call again in the future.

Could not recommend Tradewinds and Ken enough. Professional, honest, responsive, and kind. Ken explained the problem we were having and then saved us thousands of dollars by hunting down the replacement piece we needed. I’m a realtor and give out Ken’s name all the time because I know he’d take the best care of my clients.

Was able to setup a AC checkup quickly over the phone. Got a specific time they would be at my house unlike other area HVAC dealers. The appointment was within 10 days of my call again better then others. They were very thorough and explained what they did and what repair would be needed. Was happy and will be using them for the Furnace check in the fall.

We are so pleased with Tradewinds! At every turn, Duke, Alan, Ken and their team were thorough, professional, and very prompt. We contacted Tradewinds about installing mini splits in our apartment and upon his first visit for an estimate, were immediately impressed with Duke’s knowledge of industry standards and felt confident trusting his recommendations. We are so glad we did! Duke patiently answered every question we had, talked about all the ins and outs of installation and usage, and encouraged us to visit the Tradewinds office to see the product in use. Duke and his team ensured things moved as quickly as possible-- it was less than 5 weeks from my first call for an estimate to us enjoying a cool, quiet home. This includes the time we spent contemplating the decision and delays in shipping due to the pandemic. We could not be happier with how things turned out. The day of installation, Alan, Ken and team were responsive, courteous, and very careful in their work. They explained how the units work and made sure we understood maintenance and care. My partner and I were both working from (our small) home the day of installation which made for a unique situation but Alan and Ken could not have been more unobtrusive or considerate.They handled all necessary paperwork for a manufacturer’s rebate that lowers our cost. We give Tradewinds our most enthusiastic vote of confidence and are grateful to benefit from their good work.

I had a great experience with Tradewinds! My furnace went bad while still under warranty, and after getting the runaround from a few HVAC companies in town Tradewinds came in and quickly worked out the problem, and scheduled me for a full furnace replacement the next day. They got me a quote within a couple of hours, and worked out the warranty discount with no problem. The work they did the next day was neat and clean, and it looks much much nicer than the previous install. They were honest and skillful, and I'll definitely call them again in the future.

Had a 31 year old furnace that finally bit the dust. Ken quickly diagnosed the problem and found that the bearings, seals and wires have been burnt out. He provided reasonable options for alternative replacements with great value for the price. When they came to install the new furnace, Ken, Allen and co. were extremely professional, punctual and patient. They answered every question to the best of their ability and made accommodations for adjustments on the fly. Definitely recommend.
