★★★★★ — Our Second Home with Builder and They Exceeded Expectations Again

My husband and I just completed our second custom home with Matt Parnell, now with Willow Ridge Design Build, and the experience was every bit as exceptional as the first. When you trust a builder with a second project — especially one of this complexity — it says everything about how the first one went.
This home is on Lake Mendota, a three-story custom build on a narrow 28’ x 75’ footprint that required creative thinking at every turn to maximize space without sacrificing the luxury finishes and lake views that were central to our vision. The result was selected as a 2025 Parade of Homes site, which speaks for itself, but the finished product only tells part of the story.
What sets the Willow Ridge team apart is the process. They started by genuinely listening — understanding what we wanted, how we lived, and what would make this home feel uniquely ours. They were patient through the entire selection process for cabinetry, flooring, countertops, and colors (no small thing on a project at this level), and they brought real creativity to features we hadn’t even thought of ourselves. The collaboration with Hannah Dahl Designs was seamless and added tremendous value to the interior design vision. Hannah was available for any questions whether it was about lighting, paint or flooring. Her knowledge of our build was infinite.

Molli Babler brings a real estate and design perspective that complements Matt’s 30+ years of building experience — together they run a tight, professional, client-first operation. If you’re considering a custom home in the Dane County area, I wouldn’t hesitate to call them. This is our second home together, and I’d do it a third time without question.

Working with Molli and Matt was the best. They not only helped us find our lot to build on, but listened to our design/build requests. I waited until the landscaping was in before I wrote this post. I was a little hesitant when I first met with Molli and Matt because I was not familiar with Willow Ridge Design Build. However, I was won over by the end result. I love this place, and I am extremely happy with my decision to have them build my new home. Molli and Matt are friendly and easy to work with. They even look like their pictures on the website! I highly recommend Willow Ridge Design Build.
