Chuck Farmer Landscaping is outstanding. I have been 100 percent satisfied with my lawn care for over 10 years. His crew shows up on schedule, do excellent work, clean up afterward and I never have to worry about anything. His price is fair and he takes pride in his work. I highly recommend.

These folks do fantastic work and in a good lead time. There is no "yeah we'll schedule you in for 6 weeks from now." These guys go to works within a couple of days max. You can't go wrong with these good folks!

Excellent service from start to finish. I contacted Matt to completely re-do the two flower beds in front of my house. He promptly came out and came up with several options utilizing digital renderings. The digital renderings are priceless because what we initially thought we wanted changed once we saw the renderings. Matt had great two way communications with me regarding weather and scheduled the work within days. His people were very professional and courteous. They pay attention to detail and make sure everything is 100% to your satisfaction. You know a company is great when they take the time to really clean off your sidewalks and edging from all the dirt debris. I have always dreamed of having a beautiful outdoor kitchen and sitting area where my family could spend time cooking and relaxing. After living in Chicago for 40 years, I faced the challenge of not having any yard space. This dream has been a long time in the making.

In September 2024, my wife and I moved to Hazel Green. We were uncertain about where to start and which landscaping companies to trust. After a disappointing experience with 5-Star Landscaping (you can read my review about them), we approached the entire landscaping process with caution. The only thing I was certain about was my desire to use Unilock bricks, as I believe they are far superior to any other landscaping bricks. However, Unilock has a very challenging vetting process that companies must go through to use their products, which requires time and dedication that not every landscaping company is willing to invest.

To find a reliable company, I called Unilock for a list of certified landscapers. One of the names I received was Piney Creek. I contacted them and spoke with Matt, the owner, who came out to assess our project right away. I also had three other companies come for estimates, but they lacked vision and creativity in their proposals and provided hand-drawn estimates that were difficult to read. It was clear they treated it as just another job.

In contrast, Matt returned with CAD designs and 3D renderings, giving us a clear idea of what the finished product would look like. This attention to detail spoke volumes about his dedication to his work. Additionally, his estimates were competitive with those from other companies. Throughout the process, most of the design ideas came from Matt himself. He treated our project as if it were his own backyard, which reassured us that we had made the right choice.

The entire process from start to finish had its challenges, mainly due to unforeseen issues left by the builder. Any contractor or landscaper who claims there won't be any challenges is not being truthful. Matt and his crew were proactive and addressed every issue without complaining or overcharging. They consistently asked, "How can we help solve these problems?" Their approach to handling these obstacles is what separates the exceptional from the average. They answered all our questions and dealt with any issues with great care and attention.

Overall, Matt went above and beyond throughout this entire process. I truly believe that if we had chosen one of the other companies, we would have regretted it. Everything Piney Creek did and how they managed each challenge reaffirmed that we had made the right decision by choosing them.

Now, every time we step out into our backyard, we smile at the transformation. The final result exceeded anything I could have imagined, and we owe that to Matt and Piney Creek Landscaping. I will share pictures of the before and after, as the transformation is incredible. My dogs now have a complete backyard to run around in, which was another dream of ours.

I hope this post helps others understand the hard work, planning, and effort that go into creating something like this. They handled everything you see in my photos—from running the French drains to laying sod, to building the pergola and privacy fence, and all the brickwork you see. I opted to hire my own electrician and countertop company for those specific jobs. So, do yourself a favor and call Piney Creek right from the start. Don’t waste time with unnecessary phone calls to other landscaping companies. Just call Piney Creek. They are the only company we plan to use in the future. Great job, Matt and team! We recently had Kendall Outdoors out to our home, and I can honestly say the experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish. They completely refreshed three of our flower beds with beautiful blooming shrubs and fresh mulch, and the transformation is incredible, it truly brought our landscaping back to life.

On top of that, they handled bringing in dirt and laying sod to repair areas of our yard after some concrete work, and everything blends seamlessly now. It looks like it’s always been that way, which is exactly what we were hoping for.

A big shoutout to Jake and his team …  they were professional, hardworking, and paid attention to every detail. It’s not easy to find a crew that takes this much pride in their work, but it shows in the final result!

I highly recommend Kendall Outdoors to do your landscaping work. I used them to renovate my Uncle's gravesite (a World War II Veteran who was killed during the Normandy Campaign at St. Lo, France) which was in bad need of repair due to the weather elements taking a toll on the gravesite border stone and decorative stone covering the gravesite. Kendall Outdoors did a complete renovation of the gravesite by removing the border stone, decorative gravel and grave foundation. They installed a new paver base foundation, and then carefully placed the border stone back in place and covered the grave with new decorative gravel. The end result was my Uncle's gravesite was fully restored to its original state and as my Grandparents intended. I would recommend Kendall Outdoors to anyone. They are top notch professionals. They do what they say they will do. This type of service is hard to find today.
