PHC is the best home builder and remodeling group in Birmingham, AL. The owner, Josh Dean, understands that details matter and his philosophy on that filters down to all his employees and subs. Over the last 17 years, they have remodeled my entire home and added an exterior porch, fireplace, and outdoor kitchen. The building process with PHC was easy and the quality is second to none. I highly recommend PHC!

This is to commend Precision Homecrafters, LLC who recently rebuilt two bathrooms for me. They tore the old ones down to the studs, including a useless wall in each, and rebuilt them to my specifications. In that, I had the help of their very capable designer. I was well pleased with Precision Homecrafters’ professionalism, communication, and selection of their subcontractors, as well as with their very competent Project Manager. There was one unexpected hiccup during the project (a pipe hidden in a wall to be removed), but this didn't slow them down and was dealt with expeditiously. Similarly, some months after the project was finished, an issue presented itself that needed repair. Again, their response was immediate and effective. Esthetically, the two bathrooms are gorgeous, and I’ve received many compliments. I’m especially delighted to have light from the windows now that the inside walls are gone. I would recommend Precision Homecrafters to anyone, and indeed, I already have.

I had my son's full bath redone (I had them pull his tub out and he has a walk-in shower now). My main issue with the bathroom was the mold that would grow on the ceiling and walls near the tub/shower (his bathroom is in the basement). I can not say enough good things or have enough adjectives to use about Precision Homecrafters. Everyone was kind and understanding that I was handling this alone and had never gone through a remodel. Every subcontractor was here when they said they would be and did their work professionally. They were willing to answer questions and when a mistake was realized (the tile was laid in the wrong direction), it was redone immediately. The work did not begin until all of items were available (except the shower glass which they had to measure for once the shower was built).Everything is laid out for you ahead of time and you know exactly what is going to happen and who is coming and they are extremely responsive if you have a concern.

We have been so happy with PHC! We met with multiple contractors when we decided to do a large remodel, and as soon as we met with the team from PHC we knew we were going to go with them. From the get-go they were honest and really thought through what we were asking for and what made sense for our house. They gave us multiple options that fit our ideas and budget and made the design and selection process so easy from our end. The vendors/services they use are top-notch and there was such good communication throughout the project. We will be using PHC for any remodeling needs going forward!!

Precision, working in conjunction with the architect Ben Strout, added a second floor to our house along with a complete master bed/bath remodel. Despite being in the height of the pandemic construction shortage, the work was done quickly and without compromise. Let me add: They added an entire floor to our house without us having to leave. Moreover, there was no discernible dust/debris transmitted into our living space. Magicians.

I cannot express how pleasant it was to work with Phillip (Project Manager), Josh, and Ben. For example, one Saturday early in the project, I noticed something and emailed them that I thought we could look at it together on the coming Monday. In a matter of time that should be considered ridiculous (especially for a Saturday), Ben was following up and came over to check it out. This continued to be the pattern for the entire project. I'd notice something/have a question and shoot a text to Phillip. In a similar way, Phillip was always on point in terms of keeping my wife and me updated on the construction progress, etc. He'd routinely double-check design elements, etc. His eye for detail is incredible; indeed, I think his punch list was longer than ours.

These guys care about the work they are doing and it shows. If you are pondering them for a job, meet with them. If you are still not convinced, I'd be delighted to talk to you personally.

We were in the market for a Master Bath Remodel. We chose PrecisionHomecrafters after diligent research. Besides being super nice, Josh and Holly can’t be beat for their expertise and knowledge. They took our wants and added their suggestions and designed the Master Bath Remodel that is being thoroughly enjoyed. Besides this project, they assisted in minor updates throughout entire home. Between designs, material selections and project work, project was completed in less than year. Must not leave out that Phillip, project supervisor, is enjoyable to work with and stays on top of project.

My Dad became a carpenter as soon as he could swing a hammer. He’s now 86. His philosophy was producing quality work and doing things the right way the first time. Naturally, I adopted that as being the ONLY way to do things. Enter PHC. We met Josh through a window project (debacle) during the pandemic. Because of how he handled that, we knew PHC was who we wanted to work with for our renovation. Precision Homecrafters became our roommates for a year and a half. We lived in and through every single step of our renovation. We phased out the work beginning in the basement, to the second level/exterior then to the main level. Every single corner of our home was touched by PHC. It’s not for the faint of heart. I could not have done it with anyone else. To say I am detail oriented is an understatement. I have exceedingly high expectations and I set the bar way high. Precision reached it time and time again. I admittedly (excessively) micromanaged Phillip and Charlie. I respectfully bombarded them with questions, observations, and check off lists. They handled me so well. They are great communicators which is a trait hard to come by especially in construction. PHC has the work ethic my father modeled. They will do whatever needs to be done to make it right. Were there frustrations, yes. Were there hiccups, yes. It’s construction. But, everything was addressed swiftly and was resolved promptly. They will not try to cut corners. They will not try to pull the wool over your eyes. They will always be upfront and honest. The subs they contract out must align with PHC’s business model or they are not awarded the contract. Truly a tremendous group of people. Both professionally and personally. The product is the end game but what you experience getting there is what you’ll remember the most. Working with PHC, you’ll have a quality product with a quality experience. No exception.

Highly recommended. Our exterior remodel looks great; it's like a brand new house. From the first time I spoke with Joshua, I felt at ease and confident he was the right man for the job, and he did not disappoint. He and his associate, Philip, were dedicated, communicative, reliable, and helpful throughout the entire process. Our renovation, like all renovations, encountered setbacks like discontinued materials, cold weather, tornadoes, and rain - a lot of rain. Despite this, they maintained a strong commitment to the relationship, and showed tremendous integrity and honesty throughout the project. We're so grateful to Precision HomeCrafters for the beautiful outcome. I honestly couldn't imagine wanting to use another company for any future needs. Five stars.

We have completed two projects with PHC -- finishing out our basement and a house remodel/deck project after a tree fell on our home. Both times, we were completely pleased with the outcome. The difference with Precision starts with the bid process -- they work with you to make sure they fully understand what you want and work in the details to make sure their proposal gives you exactly the outcome you want, without unknowns and charge orders. Their proposal will be high, but you won't be peppered with change orders. They work hard to meet deadlines, and there will be minimal to no punch list at the end. They won't be satisfied and won't move on to the next project until you're fully pleased with the outcome.

Our entire engagement and project with Precision Homecrafters was incredible from start to finish. We embarked on a 2nd story addition to our historic home with the aid of Ben Strout and the Another Story architectural system. Josh and Clint helped tremendously during the design and pricing phase of the project. They were both present to let us know what was possible from a feasibility and budget stand point. Once we had the design and numbers squared away, the actual construction team began work very quickly. Neil and Philip were some of the best professionals I've ever dealt with, across any industry. They were both very attentive to any feedback or concerns we had during construction. They communicated effectively and promptly took care of anything and everything we need. Seriously, they were the best. Lee and Angel did an awesome job around the house on various projects and we enjoyed getting to know them. Jennifer was also instrumental in coordinating photography and making sure to always take into account our circumstances to make minimal impact on our daily life. And best of all, the folks at PHC are just great people. They took care of our family in various ways that made the construction process pleasant, as opposed to arduous. And lastly, the quality of the work they do is truly incredible. We could not be happier with how our project turned out. They did an awesome job, it was all done ON-TIME (!), and the quality is A+++. I highly recommend Precision Homecrafters and would gladly contract them again on any future home improvement projects we may have.

Our experience with Precision Homecrafters was one for the books. We started out with a very outdated kitchen and wanted something that would fit our lifestyle. They were instrumental in helping us create a functional design and the result was our dream kitchen. We spend most of our time at home gathered in our kitchen and now we get to create memories that will last a lifetime for our big family. They were not the least expensive, but based on our past experiences with other contractors, what we got was well worth every penny. From start to finish, we received excellent communication, demand for quality, and attention to detail on every aspect from design to construction. It could have been the most frustrating project, especially with supply shortages due to COVID, but instead we felt like we were in good hands. Our project was completed as scheduled, except for the appliances that were backordered and we knew they would be delayed from the beginning. This company is full of hard-working, honest, and competent individuals. We highly recommend Precision Homecrafters for any project that they take on- Holly Burrow and Phillip McClain were 2 people that we worked closely with, and they exceeded our expectation levels again and again. Update- hired PHC again to upgrade our fireplace to better flow with our new kitchen. Couldn’t be happier. Beautiful work, we get so many compliments. Same experience as the first time, we have complete trust and confidence in Josh and his team. It feels like working with family, in a good way. We appreciate the work they do, but even more the kind of people they are. Good, good people. We absolutely love them and will hire them again for the next project.

We used Precision several years ago for a tear down of our old deck and a complete design and installation of a new deck with covered roof, fireplace and other features such as lighting. The deck has become a focal point of our home, a great investment and has held up beautifully. Working with Precision Homecrafters was a dream-the entire team is professional, kind and always came through for us. On the front end, Josh even drove us to look at several other decks in the area so we could decide what we wanted and see other projects they had done. We were also paired with an interior designer who helped with selections of furniture, the fireplace and other features of the project. We were highly pleased and highly recommend Precision Homecrafters. We would definitely use them again for future renovations. All employees were highly responsive, easy to work with and we stayed within budget as well!

Update-About 4 years have gone by since our original deck was constructed. We needed help with sealing the deck and other painting work not related to the project. The guys were, once again, HIGHLY responsive, assisted with finding someone to get the work done and helped with facilitating the entire process at a very reasonable price. So not only will Precision be helpful during the project, they will help you maintain it for years to come! With extensive experience with remodeling as well, they can assist with any aspect of your home that needs attention or maintenance. Highly, highly recommend!

We worked with Precision to do a massive addition on our house by adding an entire second floor while we lived there. There were some immediate things that stood out to me about their process that I believe are part of their success. First, everything is planned out in extreme detail from the beginning. This means getting the architectural drawings plus every finish selected before the contract begins. This allows them to source products early to eliminate stock outs and you know going in exactly what the cost will be. The transparency was so beneficial in keeping everyone on the same page because there are a million decisions when you add on to your house. It also allowed them to stage deliveries of product when work was supposed to happen seamlessly. Second, we got a whole team of support beginning with a project manager who is onsite daily plus support of the design team etc. Living through an addition meant workers were often in our house 6 days a week and while that was a bit tiresome it meant the project was progressing and there was never a lull in the work being done. We lived through a tornado hitting our street, an intense freeze, some window issues, a water leak caused by a manufacturer issue and through every issue that came up our project manager, Neil, was on top of it and got it resolved. Every single person we came in contact with through the process was professional and positive. Construction projects are not easy and I was so impressed with the level of attention the team provided. Our space is absolutely beautiful and it has made us fall in love with our house all over again. Precision is who I will always contact first for any home renovation need in the future.

We had a great experience from start to finish! We learned about Precision from a personal recommendation, and I too would recommend them! We remodeled our kitchen and upgraded our living and dining. We had some ideas, but they made them come to life with their drawings and 3D renderings. They were transparent throughout the process and timely with delivery. But on top of all of that, the work that was done was beyond our expectations. The cabinet company was easy to work with and we were super impressed with their craftmanship. All subcontractors were respectful of our home and did a fantastic job. Lastly, after the job was completed, we met with them again to talk about what worked and didn’t. Precision Homecrafters recently completed a renovation of our bathroom and closet. The designers were amazing, and they helped from the conception phase until the end. We weren't really sure what we wanted but they took care of all the details. Everyone in the compnay were courteous, on time, and honest. Their subcontractors and employees were all friendly, on time, and professional. Nothing in home remodeling ever goes perfectly. The measure of whether a company is worth doing business with is determined by what they do to remedy the situation. When an issue arose, they handled it quickly, communicated well, and made sure it was fixed properly. They don't cut corners, and will build it the right way for you. We have worked with many home companies over the year, and some we would not do business with again. I would definitely use Precision again if we have another project come up. As a business owner, I appreciate their follow-up and concern for their clients, and ensuring the customer is fully satisfied with the job before signing off. Thanks so much, Precision team!

Before selecting Precision Homecrafters to remodel our kitchen and enclose our screened porch, we sat down with the owners of PHC (Joshua and Jennifer Dean) to learn more about the company and their way of doing things. We were immediately impressed with their sincere interest in serving the wants and needs of their clients. Their extensive remodeling expertise and leadership skills were quickly evidenced upon learning Joshua had served as past chairman of Birmingham’s Parade of Homes. Not only were we impressed with Joshua’s and Jennifer’s humility and kindness, the maturity they model encourages effective communication among team members to make sure that projects stay on track. We found them both to be focused on the importance of quality of workmanship throughout all phases of our project, so expectations can be met, or even exceeded. Also, we have always enjoyed an ease of contact with them both, as well as with each member of their production leadership. Our project manager and subcontractors share the same friendly spirit and desire to serve and satisfy clients. We always looked forward to their on-time arrival each day and they have always been like welcome guests in our home. Each one has acted as such with pride in their workmanship and attention to detail. Every experienced PHC designer is a delight and easy to work alongside and quickly picks up on clients’ preferences. Much like the project manager, the designers think of even the tiniest detail to ensure that all improvements will actually meet clients’ needs.

Additionally, the PHC office staff is very congenial and project payment schedules are organized to be accurate, efficient, and easy to understand with clients’ payments easily delivered. The entire PHC staff is not satisfied until their clients are satisfied. Our beautifully finished cabinetry is a perfect example of extra-mile service!

After completing our first project with Precision Homecrafters (kitchen/screened porch), we immediately felt assured that our decision to work with them was the right one. Since the entire PCH team (including subcontractors) took pride in their work, and consistently displayed professionalism with attention to detail, our project was able to be completed in a timely manner and within budget. In fact, we were so pleased with the outcome of our first project that we are now actively working with Precision Homecrafters on a second project to improve our home’s exterior, and to remodel our master bedroom and bath.
