Very professional. Looks like I have found an honest and reliable pool contractor for my pool repairs and upgrades! So pleased with my new control panel.

He rarely comes when he says he will. Told me he could clear up my pool in 3-4 days. That didn't happen. He told me he'd be here on Saturday, it's now Thursday and I haven't seen or heard from him.

DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT deal with Jane's Harrell at Genesis Pools. He charged me 300.00 dollars for parts that may have cost 100.00 then before the job was complete I paid him 200.00 for a days labor telling him I didn't like to pay before the job was complete. Then he writes me saying he ran a business and didn't show up to complete the job. DO NOT DO NOT work with this man or company. He told me to call him when I wanted to run my pump. The pool has been covered for the better part of five years and the liner disintegrated. James got the new liner installed and looks fabulous. He was very informative with the status of his progress. We had a delivery set back and weather delays and he kept me informed throughout the entire process. Great company to work with and did beautiful job! Thank you James!!

So happy with how clean my pool is! It looked like a swamp, and he can back everyday for 3 days time to make sure everything was clear and cleaned out. Anything that may have settled overnight he made sure he came back to check til it was completely clean to make sure the job was thoroughly done. This was by far the worst service I have ever received. The technician came to my home, spent less than 30 minutes, and tried to charge me $150.00. The pool only stayed clean for two days. When I contacted him the following week, he demanded another $300. He would do this often.

He never scheduled proper appointments he would just show up unannounced and expect me to be home. On one occasion, I even apologized for not being there when he popped up and asked him to provide an invoice, but he never did because he knew he hadn’t actually finished the job. Instead, he kept telling me to “come outside” so he could show me how to do the work I was paying him to do.

After selling me $90 worth of chemicals and promising they would keep my pool clear all summer, the pool was still full of algae.

He would often claim the job was finished, but when my daughter and friends got in, the water was green with algae. He still expected payment for that.

To make matters worse, he even tried to blame me for my friend not paying him, as if that was my responsibility. When I asked for a refund of a preorder he refused to pay me back he blocked me, and even tried to charge me for his gas after popping up without a set time.

His service is unprofessional, overpriced, and completely unreliable. Do not waste your money.

Genesis pools has been a life saver for me. Bad experiences with other companies. Honest, hard working, and going the extra mile with out asking. My life is easier now.

This is a 5 Star Service! James was prompt, communicative, and always performed quality work. As an out of town owner, I knew when I called that the work would be done quickly and professionally! Can't recommend enough!

James has done many jobs for us on our pool. He does excellent work and has the best rates in our area. I would highly recommend him for any pool need!

James Howell at Genesis pool service is outstanding! We have a huge above ground pool that we considered taking down until James took over the maintenance. It is sparkling clean. He always lets us know when he is on his way and is always on time. Highly recommended!!

Deceptive, disrespectful, and harassing.

We hired this contractor to install a pool liner on May 5 and it was finally installed on July 10. We paid a $2,500 deposit. Over several weeks, we were told the liner had been ordered and was in production. Later, the contractor acknowledged that the liner had not been ordered and that our deposit had been used for unrelated personal expenses.

He offered us a $500 discount due to the delays and confusion, which we accepted. When we asked if he would consider adjusting that amount, he withdrew the discount and became increasingly difficult to work with. Despite being asked “multiple “ times by myself and my husband to communicate with me directly—as we thought this may become a legal matter to get our deposit back. I’m the title holder to our home. He refused to do so and would only speak with my husband.

After the work was completed, we received an invoice for the full amount, not including the discount. Almost immediately we began receiving repeated messages requesting immediate payment, including one at 6:00 a.m. the following morning. While we had always intended to pay in full, the persistent contact and tone felt unnecessary and stressful.

We paid the full balance early that morning to close out the job. While the liner was installed, the overall experience was disorganized and unprofessional. We would not choose to work with this contractor again. Addendum to My Review of Genesis Pools

I feel compelled to respond to the business owner’s public reply to my original review.

First, there were no scheduling delays on our part. Mr. Harrell repeatedly gave us excuses for why the job was being delayed—ranging from vendor issues to weather—but ultimately, we discovered that he had not even ordered the liner when he claimed he had. That is a key reason we questioned the integrity of the process.

Second, we were never withholding payment. We were invoiced late in the evening, and despite receiving repeated, harassing messages from Mr. Harrell starting almost immediately after we received the invoice we paid the invoice in full the very next morning, within hours of receiving it. The implication that we were “playing games” with his money is simply not true and misrepresents the facts.

His public accusations and mischaracterizations are not only deeply offensive but libelous. His statements about me, including allegations of manipulation and “extortion,” are false and damaging.

Public Notice: Cease and Desist Request

To James Harrell / Genesis Pools:

I am formally requesting that you cease and desist from all further contact with me, my family, and any statements—online or offline—that reference us or our business. Your repeated, unwanted messages and public defamation that continue even two weeks after we paid in full have crossed into harassment. This matter is now in the hands of the proper authorities.

Let this serve as formal notice: Any further contact or defamatory communication may result in legal action, including a restraining order and civil claim for defamation.

It was an overall good experience. The representative was personable and flexible with finance issues. I appreciate the company business model of "made in the USA" and hiring exmilitary persons.

Didn't like the Metal debris left in yard from installation. We have small kids

Service tech very pleasant and did a great job, going above and beyond my expectations. Got my problem fixed quickly and efficiently. Wish I could remember his name and give him the proper thank you!

Would never recommend Leaf filter especially here in the south. After purchasingly filter I found out the hard way that pine straw loves leaf filter. It catches every piece of pine straw within a miles radius I believe now that might be a stretch but not much of one. If I had it to do over again I would do leaf guard. Simply they don't have any cracks or crevices or mesh wires to get caught in it's a solid piece that flows off the top and onto the ground so nothing for a pine straw to get caught in. So no the filter is not a good product where there's pine trees which is a huge part of the United States. And those pine trees don't have to be in your yard they just have to be in your neighborhood. Good luck because they won't do nothing about it

The gutters are great but the service is terrible. Don't believe the commercial when they tell you you never have to clean in your gutters again.. I just call the national headquarters headquarters because my gutters are clogged And they told me there was a $95 charge for them to come out and clean them. The sales team was clearly knowledgeable and I loved being able to see a complete sample of the product that would be installed. The install was scheduled quickly, the team that completed the install was professional and fast. We are very pleased we chose this product!

They are good people to handle business . I was skeptical about people around the area for over price for gutter. But for the they fair enough and they handle really good with concern. The problem of my house is now fixed.

Couple of things. Sales rep starts at a super high price then drops it to just high. They wanted over 40 dollars a ft for this. They also offered same as cash 12 months and will say the interest rate if not paid within the 12 months (balance in full ) is around 12 percent. Wells Fargo informed me that the MERCHANT sets the interest rate not them. 28.99 percent! They also require you to send them a letter if you choose to cancel Post marked within three days. From what I have read on the net the Avg cost for 150 ft should be around 1500 to 2000. They wanted 4300 after so called discounts. I could hire a man to come clean my gutters 4 times a year at 100 per pop and I still would have cash left over after 10 years of paying someone to do that. Beware! Just not worth what they are asking for this product.

Excellent service from sales to install! The product perfectly solved my gutter problem for my covered parking area. I have a lot of trees and they were constantly clogging my gutters. LeafFilter stopped the debris in my gutters and now I don't even have to think about them. Excellent!

The salesperson was honest and didn't try to sell me things I didn't need. The installation was quick and thorough and they did a good job at making the downspouts blend with the trims on the house.
