I am very pleased with the service and product I received from Froggy Bottom. There were several material providers to choose from and I now know I made the right choice. The staff were friendly and very helpful, ensuring I got the right amount of the best material for my project. Rodney was a real champ when he delivered my gravel, taking extra care to drop it off in the best spot. His attention to detail surely saved me a lot of extra work moving the material from one side of the yard to the other. My back thanks you!

They’re going downhill fast. I made two trips to purchase the ferns they had advertised for $10. I was able to snag two less than helpful, curt (a point shy of rude), employees who told me they were out of the ferns they were advertising for a two day grand reopening event. This, plus their attitude, reeks of “bait and switch.” So much for shopping local.

I bought 2 yds of what I thought was topsoil.
It is just red clay with rock hard clumps throughout, some the size of footballs. I did find a cotton stalk root so that made it organic I suppose.
The lady at the front desk was not even close to being nice and that’s fine as I know they deal in truckload quantities so maybe I was wasting her time.
When I asked the fellow on the loader if that was really topsoil and he said “ yeah” while laughing!
So a heads up, if you want topsoil, ask for “ super soil” it will at least have some organic soil and maybe a nut grass or three.

There was a mistake with our Sandy Topsoil order, but they went above and beyond to fix it. They did everything they could to make it right. THEY MADE IT RIGHT ASAP. We are very pleased.

They charge tax on plant sale which is weird none else in the area charge tax on plants. Sadly they do not have anything to put plants for customers to take to their car. No cart provided to carry your plants. No price on plant holders it seems they disappeared long time back so you have no idea of price for plants you pick. I felt the customer service was bad. I think they focus on wholesale customers not individual buying few things.

Got response from owner that they cannnot find my transaction instead of apologizing for bad service! Weird I wrote my review right after buying the plants and not happy with their service.

Ordered 8 yards of their playground mulch for a pad for my granddaughters new playset. This is an excellent product. The staff was helpful and friendly. Delivery was prompt and courteous. Was able to get 7 yards of sand and 8 yards of mulch out, ready to tackle playset next weekend 😒

I must say I deal with the public alot and when you deal with caring, knowledgeable, customer friendly, and thorough individuals, it’s a PLUS! We have been shopping with this store for the past 4 weeks from river rocks to super soil to pine needle and the front staff has been awesome but the loaders have been superb!! We have been hauling rocks and soil in the back of our Chevy truck that has rims and was Leary that the truck would get scratched, but it didn’t! Both guys were very gentle and really compassionate about the way the loads were dropped and that goes a long way with us. I can honestly say the pricing is very reasonable and the quality of the bulk is even better! This will definitely be our first choice every time!

We searched all over East Alabama for this white crushed marble - found it at Froggy Bottom! They had it, fairly priced, and delivered it to Opelika 2 days later. SUPERB service!!

There is a large variety of stone, mulch, and soil/sand. Reasonably priced, we got pea gravel and Tennessee River rock for some landscaping around our home. Everyone was very friendly and helpful - we will be back!

Buyer beware!
First off, let me just say that I've used Froggy Bottom in the past for multiple projects (probably spent a couple thousand dollars all told) and have never had a complaint. Until now. I ordered 6 yards of crusher run for my carport. 21'-6" x 30'-9" x 3" deep (works out to just over 6 yards, but I did want to taper it off at the end anyway). By the time I got it all spread out, I was barely 2-1/2" deep and still had an approximately 8' x 8' patch of bare ground! When I called about this, I was told that was not possible; that both the loader and driver insist that I got 6 yards ('cause we all know nobody ever makes a mistake...) When I asked if someone could come on out to verify that the 6 yards I ordered, and supposedly received, does not actually fill the area intended, I was told that was not possible. I figure I'm 1-1/2 to 2 yards short (that's pretty significant for a 6 yard order!) and their customer service is completely unwilling to even look into my claim. Like I said at the top, BUYER BEWARE!

Sent my son in with my dump trailer to get 2 yards of gravel . My trailer is marked so I know how many yards are loading . Paid for 2 yards might have gotten a yard . Want go back . Area sand and Gravel is my next stop

This morning I got wind that Froggy Bottom was expanding to include a nursery. My weekend to do list immediately got changed. Following the long journey from Downtown Montgomery (it’s less than 20 miles), my plant loving soul was blown away by the staff and nursery. When I was welcomed within moments of walking up, and surveying the colors peaking from every corner. I fully anticipated to see high price tags…. I was completely wrong. The prices were more than reasonable for high quality. Nearly every need, variety, and size with unique eye catching options you don’t see in many stores in the area were on-site. I snuck out with my Sudan’s backseat full of plants, plus garden barrier for just over $100. Be sure to make this locally owned heaven a must shop for your landscaping this year. Thank you to the Froggy Bottom team for top knot h customer service…. And whoever Matt is…I heard request for you no less than 6 times while on my excursion…you sir deserve a beer. Happy Planting!

I used froggy bottom earlier this fall and was very pleased with the staff that I dealt with as well as the product I got. I need to sand to place in my yard after having a tree cut down and stump ground up. The sand was very good quality and easy to spread. I also needed a half pallet of sod to cover the area. The sod was great quality. No weeds mixed into the grass. The pieces were not falling apart. Overall it was a great experience.

Went here for the first time recently, and I got a yard of what they called supercharged dirt for my garden for $60, which seemed like a great price. Also, they recently opened up their plant nursery, and there were so many options to choose from. I got several plants as well. Would definitely recommend it, and the people who worked there were very nice.

We had a fantastic experience with Froggy Bottom Materials from start to finish. The entire crew was friendly, professional, and clearly experienced. The foreman was especially impressive – great communication, strong leadership on site, and a clear focus on doing the job right.

This was not an easy project. We used a large amount of red rock bedding material, and anyone who’s worked with it knows how heavy and awkward it is to move and place. The crew handled it efficiently and carefully, and the finished result looks clean, even, and well thought out.

For the trees, they didn’t just plant them and walk away. The team properly prepared the beds by removing sod, leveling the area, and finishing everything with pine straw. They also installed metal edging – not just around the tree beds, but on all of our beds around the house – which really gave everything a clean, finished look.

Their pricing was very competitive, especially given the amount of labor involved, and the work was completed efficiently without cutting corners. The site was left clean, and the end result exceeded our expectations.

I would absolutely recommend Froggy Bottom Materials to anyone looking for a professional, reliable crew that takes pride in their work.
