Good workmanship and vendors were excellent. Give yourself plenty of time to complete the process, start in the off-season and reduce the stress. Keep an eye on the progress and invoices to avoid disputes.

Joel, Dayton, Steve & team did a great job on my pool. I talked to many friends with other pool companies and they just told me horror stories so I spent a lot of time shopping around with different companies. First of all, the final price of my project with Unique was very competitive and fair with the current standard prices in the valley, but the quality and company experience of pools is far beyond the other companies I talked to. The process was such a breeze for me and completely stress free, and knowing I went with a reputable company with good reviews made the experience even better. I knew they would be good when Joel spent hours between phone call and in person discussions to just educate me on the process. His patience and knowledge was what really stood this company apart from a first impression standpoint. Joel spent a lot of time with me and never made me feel bad with revisions and preference changes, and also worked with my budget to get the best bang for my buck. Steve and Dayton kept very close communication with me throughout the project, and Joel was also there to answer all questions even during odd hours. They also had extensive knowledge on grading and drainage, which was a hurdle for me as I had a retention basin in my property where I wanted the pool. We got things sorted and got the pool placed exactly where I wanted it. All the phases are explained in email as they go and they are quick once you get permitting. You get tons of orientation, and even videos made by the owner on how to care for your pool, and in person walkthroughs and education. I can't recommend this company enough.

Kudos to Chris Griffin and crew at Unique Pools and Landscaping! The design that Chris envisioned for my property is absolute perfection. From an impromptu basketball or pickleball game on the sport court, a few bounces on the in ground trampoline to reinvigorate, quick dip in the pool or extended float, depending on your mood, BBQ and watch TV, or sit by the fire pit under the stars. If the 10 grandkids are really over energetic after all that-to the grassy area of backyard for a little soccer, tag, or red rover!
The layout encourages maximum participation and interaction AND Nana can sit in one place and see everyone.
I receive many compliments from family and friends to anyone that is at the house. One glance at the outdoor sanctuary and the remarks are the same….”beautiful “ and “resort”.
If I ever need any follow up, Chris and crew are to my rescue.

Kevin from their design team was great. Really listened and took the time to come to our house and sketch things out. Also the building process was great with constant updates thru their web portal. Timeline was wonderful. 7 months start to finish in 2022 during pool build supply chain issues!!!

We had our pool and backyard done by Unique 3 years ago. The process was mostly smooth, and the project looks great. I want to highlight the the true strength of this company: They stand behind their work. Over the past couple of years, we have had small issues with the project and pool components that needed to be replaced.

After connecting with their warranty coordinator, all of our issues were handled promptly and professionally, without any added cost to us. It is wonderful to deal with a company that will stand behind their product, and take care of you well after the project is completed. Highly recommend Unique for your pool and landscape needs.

To begin, I sought several quotes for our project. One thing that caused Unique to stand out was 1) RESPONSIVENESS (received email back same day I expressed interest in this company inquiring when I'd like to meet with a design rep), 2) CONSISTENT UPFRONT COMMUNICATION (other companies would delay or sometimes not respond to emails but I generally received email response back the same day), 3) HELPFUL WEBSITE (very nice portfolio that was absent many other companies' websites and increased my confidence about moving forward with this company).

I give this company an A rating because I now have an absolutely beautiful fire pit that I'm proud of. The flagstone work really is something else. I attached a few pics, probably doesn't do justice though. And as you'd expect it's mostly appreciated at night with the firepit and 2 fire columns lit up and the high quality lighting tucked under the bench wall. The softscaping around the fire pit is still lacking, but that's because I've taken too long deciding on how I want the plants done, but I can't wait to complete that part of it which will truly help showcase this beautiful piece of masonry.

One thing I should mention is that the owner of the company takes an active interest in all his projects and comes across as competent, caring, professional, and very objective. As far as objectivity I appreciate his candor regarding the implications of maintaining a salt water pool while upgrading the pool decking to travertine. Other companies were excited to recommend it as it is a huge upsell. However, Unique's owner, Chris Griffin, wanted to make sure I knew of the potential consequences of such a move (some people find that salt water can negatively affect their natural travertine stone - certain grades and colors more than others - a risk I didn't want to take). Ultimately when I decided I wasn't willing to give up a salt water system (and didn't want to routinely pay for an expensive travertine sealant that would protect it from the salt water) it was decided not to pursue a travertine decking. And it's nice that this information is also found on Unique's website, something I have not seen on any other Phoenix landscaping website.

I would use Unique again in the future and recommend them to my friends and colleagues.

All great went to four other builders before picking Unique. We worked three different designs until we got the best design for me. I think start to finish it was 30–40-day build with a week of rain. The office team was great with weekly email updates as well as daily on-site updates. We even did some upgrades during the build with rain gutters added and brick vise stucco around my bar and fire pit. Builders were on site daily at 7am till 630pm making it a very fast build. On site manager/supervisor was awesome with communication if something was delayed or actually, we started a few items earlier than expected. Few items that needed corrected are happening that is nice as sometimes you don't find something until a few weeks later and the team is working to correct them. My neighbor is using them now. Great team from the office to on-site build team and on-site supervisor and communication was and is still great.

I had a leaking irrigation drip line on several plants and could not get it to turn off. I called Unique and left a voicemail message as well a a text message on their website. I got an almost immediate response via text advising me to turn off the main line water to temporarily stop the leak. A short time later, I was able to get a service call setup via text. Bart from Unique was able to respond that same day and troubleshoot and fix the leaking irrigation problem! Bart was kind and courteous as well as very knowledgeable about his job. I give a five star quality review for Unique Landscapes and Custom Pools responsiveness and wrap around care for their customers.

Unique did an amazing job remodeling our pool! We added a jacuzzi and a Baja step, as well as a pavers and landscaping. Very professional and responsive to very minor warranty work. Highly recommend!

We did a major backyard remodel with Unique landscapes on an acre lot. Chris is an "upfront and get things done" type of a personality, but not pushy. We had quite a few changes during the build and Chris never gave us a hard time. He just got them done. His pricing is very fair and we had people working constantly for 6 months. The job was completed about 4 months ago. Since then we had a few minor issues (grill burner broke and a plant died) Chris was just as responsive to fix these problems as he was during the build. I could not be happier with my experiences and would be happy to share them with anyone who would like to know more about our remodel.

Can't thank Chris and his team at Unique enough. They made our backyard renovation wish list into a reality and held our hand throughout the entire process. They made our backyard a showstoppper and they installed every element perfectly from landscaping to a basketball court to misters to the pool to an outdoor kitchen and a firepit! They even worked with our audio video guy (Shoutout to Roger at Kreative Audio) on when he could come in (in between landscaping projects) to put in surround sound speakers and 2 outdoor tv's. From Chris (who did some plumbing) to Dacia and Pam (in the office) to our designer to Sal and Bart - they answered all my questions and kept me in the loop in every part of the process! This is our 3rd summer with the backyard and I know I can still reach out to Chris and his crew to answer/help me with any questions I have!

Post pandemic put a real wrinkle in when our pavers came in (4 months vs. 6 weeks pre-covid) and thus increased our timeline. And Unique worked tirelessly to call other vendors (for weeks) to see if they could get the same type of pavers to complete our backyard.

About a year post we had a pipe leak and Unique came out quickly and studied the situation and was able to fix the leak. But they took the time to study the issue (pipe leaking happens) and remedy it. Appreciated that thoughtfulness!

Thank you Unique! I will never move because the backyard is so amazing, but if I do you are my only choice for a pool/backyard remodeling company! Can't recommend them enough!

In the end, we got the yard we designed and you were all responsive and patient - working through the design, construction and follow-up with us to make sure we got the back yard we envisioned.

We had blank backyard. We contacted Unique along with other companies. We gave all an idea and a budget. The other two came back with nothing close to our budget and one of the two didn't do landscape. Mike (who has been amazing) gave us something under our budget allowing for more improvement. Jay and Charles ( the managers of the project) have always answered any questions I had (even on weekends) very quickly. Pamela was very helpful in getting our wire transfers handled. Ronny ,in charge of pool set everything up and explained very well. One the project was done we found somethings that needed touch up. They we're out the next day. These people have gone above what they are supposed to do. From extra lines for trees we put in ourselves to making our gates code safe for the pool. I would recommend to anyone.

I would highly recommend working with Unique for your landscaping project. They are professional and very detail oriented. Trey is the best superintendent (nice, patient, attentive, knowledgeable) and Tyler is a great salesman/designer. From beginning to end just an absolutely pleasure. So glad we chose them!

We started our project with Unique back in May or June I believe of 2022. After some not so great preliminary meetings with some other companies, it was great that we found Unique! This was our first complete backyard build but first pool build!

Erik Junge first met us at our house which was finishing construction. Really friendly guy that offers great design advice but never pressured us into anything. He took a mock up drawing we made and small wish list. He took the drawing and built off it into a detailed 3D model we could see online. Many other designers/builders we talked to previously would always change the design to their liking or to a cookie cutter design they stamp out over and over.

After finalizing the design, we met Erik at Unique’s HQ. Very impressive building with all the materials to choose from! The entire experience here was fun and stress-free.

The dig of our pool started in mid October. Rebar was installed the first week of November and shot Crete the first week of December. Everything went super smoothly and each team was amazing to watch. There were not any shortcuts taken. We appreciate the extra steps like soil tests to determine that we needed extra rebar. Many of our neighbors didn’t have this done and time will tell how that turns out.

Ultimately, our pool was finished in March of 2023! We didn’t think it would be done till May or June. Some of our neighbor’s projects took almost 2 years.

Our project managers: Dacia, Steve, Trey, & Chandler were all super responsive throughout the project. We were never left in the dark or wondering when they’d come back. Once the pool was filled, Anthony helped us understand how everything worked and replaced some equipment that wasn’t working. He was also very friendly and knowledgeable.

All in all, we love our backyard and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Unique completed everything faster than we anticipated and the attention to detail is visible. Their pricing is fair and not super inflated like some bids we received. I would recommend Unique to everyone and would work with them again in the future!

Unique did an absolutely beautiful job renovating both our front and backyards. We have since moved, and we all miss our yard so much. It was incredibly special. If we still lived in Arizona I would hire them again in a heartbeat. Their design was amazing and the customer service was top notch. We used Unique Landscapes & Custom Pools to build our dream Pool & Spa. We had a vision of what we wanted and had some designs made. Chris the owner personally help us navigate what we can do(stay within budget) and help us fine tune the final details.
They sent emails detailing what, where and when things would be done. I was truly amazed at the customer service given.
Well eventually pool was finished within time frames that they gave us. After a few weeks we noticed leaks around the pool. Chris and Sharon(Admin Manager).
For me follow up is a key..we would like for everything to be perfect but things happen and how a company responds speaks volume. They came out multiple times to fix the leaks never once not showing up and making sure they followed up. This leak was not easy but they fixed it and they kept me in the loop. This was not cheap for them but they wanted to make sure everything was right. I can't thank Chris, Sharon and Unique team for delivering a specatacular Pool & Spa. They took care of us in beginning middle and end and they our there if the need arises. Thank you for all you have done, treating our pool as if it was your own.
