AZ Air Solutions recently installed a mini-split air conditioning system in my garage, where I park my Tesla, and I couldn’t be happier with their service. The installation process was seamless—professional, quick, and clean. The team was knowledgeable, answering all my questions about maintaining a stable garage environment, especially given the extreme heat in my area (average outside temperature of 110°F, with the garage hitting 120°F). They recommended a high-efficiency mini-split tailored to my garage’s size, and it’s been a game-changer.
The mini-split keeps the garage at a consistent, cooler temperature, which is critical for my Tesla’s LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery health. LFP batteries are more heat-tolerant than other lithium-ion chemistries, but prolonged exposure to temperatures above 105°F can still accelerate degradation. With the garage now staying below 80°F, the battery operates within its optimal temperature range, reducing stress and potentially extending its lifespan. This also minimizes the need for the Tesla’s onboard cooling system to kick in while parked, saving battery range and energy. The mini-split’s efficiency is a bonus—unlike portable AC units, it uses outdoor air to cool the condenser, maximizing cooling power and keeping energy costs low.
