Landscaping reviews in Tucson, Arizona

Greg Tolson, owner, is always attentive to our needs and wishes. He always explains in a way that we understand the work we’ve contracted for. He checks in onsite with his workers. His workers get the job done right and are always courteous.

They were willing to do a repair - didn't try to talk me into a more expensive full replacement. They came out on time, finished quickly and fully cleaned up after the job. I would wholly recommend them.

We have used Tolson Irrigation in the past and have always been very well pleased with the quality of work and the price. Workers are friendly and do a professional job. We would recommend them to anyone who needs yardwork and irrigation service. We will continue to use them in the future.

We have worked with Tolson Irrigation since 2008. They are terrific.
The technicians are knowledgeable, efficient, and nice people to work with. When we have an issue they are prompt in fixing it. We are happy to recommend them to you. -
We had our drip system and low voltage lighting installed at our new home by Tolson. They did an outstanding job and after 3 years, all is still working as well as the day installed. We just signed up for their yearly maintenance agreement. We highly recommend this company.

Best experience with an irrigation company in 6 yrs. Frank and helper (sorry didn't get his name) rebuilt my 2 malfunctioning in-ground valves quickly and efficiently. Their experience and knowledge seemed to be far beyond the other companies I've used . Highly recommended!

Appointment time was between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Workers arrived at 10:15 AM without prior notice or consent. Worker stated that he was there only to replace the valves. I advised that replacement was only if valves couldn't be repaired. I advised him that this was on the estimate. He retrieved the estimate and it said exactly that. Workers also were to install a screen below the valves in order to keep rodents out of the control box. They claimed that they didn't have the screening and would have to return to Tucson to get some. Since they were 45 minutes earlier than the earliest arrival time, they had time to do this. They claimed that the work would have to be rescheduled. I advised that I was going to call their office and speak to a supervisor. I called and had to leave a message. When I returned within two or three minutes, the crew had left. It was clear to me that the crew's intent was to do the least amount of work possible in order to achieve their real goal--an early lunch. While on my property, they parked their heavy pickup off the driveway under my mesquite tree, apparently for the shade. They parked on top of the irrigation line they were there to repair. During their brief presence, the second worker let out a loud belch that a neighbor could hear across the street. I never received a return call from the business, but that evening received an email that the owner would call the following afternoon. Never heard from him. All in all, this is a business with no respect for you or your property.

Tolson Irrigation is amazing! I’m am so thrilled with my new system. The citrus trees are happy & blooming with promise. The front yard never looked so fresh & inviting. Greg and his team are so knowledgeable and courteous. I’m looking forward to working with them on future projects. Thank you!

From start to finish, our experience with Tolson Irrigation was impressive. Their team demonstrated professionalism, efficiency, and a genuine commitment to delivering high-quality service. We’re truly pleased with how our home’s irrigation system was repaired and upgraded, and we wholeheartedly recommend their services.
Greg Tolson, the owner, personally came to evaluate our property and prepare a detailed quote, which we accepted. On the scheduled day, Greg returned with his crew and gave clear, thorough instructions for the job. Once everything was set, he left the team to carry out the work independently. A few days later, he returned to explain everything that had been completed—a gesture that reflected his dedication and attention to detail.
The work crew was well-equipped and prepared with all necessary materials. They completed the entire job in a single day, logging 25.5 man-hours of focused and undistracted labor. I was impressed by their energy and professionalism throughout the process.
We are deeply grateful for Tolson Irrigation’s outstanding service. Their responsiveness, organization, and quality workmanship lived up to the recommendation we received from a trusted friend—an experienced gardening expert whose opinion we value greatly. -
Fabulous! From keeping me updated with arrival times, to a timely estimate and installation, these guys are terrific!
I had equipment that was leaking and not up to code. Now everything is perfect.
And my dog liked the guys too 🐾
They did some extra “stuff “ as well. So no need to call anyone else -
Bitter disappointment. Went 800 over initial estimate and then let backyard slowly die as the maintenance crew was never monitored. Guaranteed plants were not guaranteed and the plants we had were put in distress because the irrigation was not checked/adjusted in 2 months. Failure to communicate at all. Really cannot understand how he is in business.

Jason and his team did a professional job extending our irrigation system, moving existing plants, adding new plants, cacti, and trees, and installing pavers at the front of our house. The best part: everything was installed and completed within the estimated time frame and looks great. Highly recommend this service.

Landshapes did an excellent job on remodeling my front yard. They tore out a lot of old plants and a tree. They replaced them with new and interesting cacti and shrubs. The whole irrigation system was replaced with new and user friendly equipment. It was a bit pricey but they were quick and the yard looks great now.
-
I've used Arizona Landshapes for 4 different projects now, at two different houses over the last 8 years. They always take into account my wishes against what is practical for my yard's particular bio-zones. I let them use their own creativity and absolutely love the outcome every single time. They are busy so can't always get back to me on my projects right away, but they are worth waiting for.

My backyard was a disaster area when I purchased my house in the Sam Hughes Neighborhood. Scott designed and Jason installed a beautiful garden. Efficient water management was part of the plan. I particularly like how the effluent from the roof is channeled to the newly planted trees. I receive many positive comments from visitors.
-
2 stars only because Jason’s workers did a nice job. The work was started several days later than I was promised. His price was higher than another estimate but a friend had used him, so I did. After spending close to $4000 on a drip system, he will not come out and show me how to use it without charging. I’m told this after numerous unanswered texts and phone calls. When, after several months he did call, I’m told I’m difficult because I didn’t want to use FaceTime for the service.

We had Jason owner of Arizona Landshapers come and give us ideas and estimate to landscape our back yard. We were able to receive the estimate that same day. He and his crew were extremely professional, on time. And they were able to do the job in the time frame he gave us. We are very happy with the outcome.

Jason has done a couple jobs for us. This one was turf for the dogs & shade sails for a carport. He works closely listening to your needs & preferences. His team is A+. Professional, hardworking & excellent quality of work. Will always recommend AZ Landscapers.

Have purchased many plants and a tree. Love this Nursery. Full of information and very eager to help.

My wife and I bought our first large Philodendron here back in 2005. I needed a large plant as an accent in the corner of my flagstone patio. 16 years later it's still loving it, with roots leaving the pot and established underground.
I buy all of my Fox Farm soils and additives from Rillito and even found a nice desert willow some years ago for my front yard. The folks that work herre are friendly and Beth the manager is knowledgable. She can match their inventory to your needs in a flash and can help you choose the right plants for your home's particular elevation and micro-climate. I also bought Papyrus back in 2006 which is still growing nicely as a potted plant.
For nursery to last so well over so many years is impressive. Their stock of seeds, soil, flower selections, shrubs, trees, pots, tools, and additives makes this nursery a one-stop oasis. -
Rillito Nursery has a wide assortment of native plants. It's a pleasant place to walk around and look at all the plants. Knowledgeable staff. Fair prices.
