Edgar and his team did a great job. They replace a section of asphalt that was removed to run conduit across a street at the VA Hospital in San Francisco. They were on time, did a good job and cleaned up after themselves. They even took the old asphalt and saved me a trip to the dump. I will be using them again.

El Camino General Engineering is a great company. Very respectful of our residents and very polite. Always kept the area they worked in clean. They stand behind their word. They are very hard workers. We hope they will do the seal coat of the mobile home park.

El Camino General and Edgar did great work on ADA Improvements in our parking lot. We had great communication throughout the project, and they were very flexible dealing with disruptive patrons and tenants.

Received a “NTR” letter from SF city, and urgently needed to repair the sidewalk in compliance with the city standard.  Thanks to Edgar Arteaga at El Camino General Engineering completed the sidewalk repair just this week.

I called several companies, but speaking with Edgar Arteaga at El Camino General Engineering he did a good job explaining the estimate what the costs and work needed.  Actually, he kept the contract price and did not charge the extra services when the finished job was larger than the estimated square footage.

Throughout the process, Edgar Arteaga was very profession, courteous, responsive, thorough, and very helpful with any questions.

Most importantly,  he understood meeting a tight deadline as he put it at the end:

“I wanted to make sure I help you push this through from start to finish.

I contacted them (City Inspector) as soon as we were done.

We took video of every step to ensure they are okay with the finished product"

Next day, I got the response from the City Inspector that the NTR has been closed.

Everything went smoothly and the process was less stressful.

El Camino General Engineering applied 2 sealing coats to our old asphalt driveway. They were careful and respectful in their work, and the old driveway looks new, They informed us of their progress, and were very nice to work with. I will use their services again.

El Camino General Engineering did an exceptional job on my driveway. The work was substantial -- involving tearing up the old driveway, adding retaining walls on a hillside, and laying new asphalt. Edgar and his team provided reasonable quotes with options and adjusted schedules to fit my needs. The entire crew was professional. Need Asphalt Repairs/Work - Think twice about El Camino Engineering.

Our driveway and carport area needed new asphalt. Got a bid from El Camino Engineering. We chose them because we thought they were the best contractor.
We were wrong.

First, the good news: In the end, almost everything was done properly.

Bad news: Resolving issues took a lot of time and repeated requests. While El Camino had the integrity to fix most things, it was WAY too much effort to get those results. I DO NOT RECOMMEND El CAMINO ENGINEERING for your asphalt project.

History:
Work was done in late 2023 - a driveway with 3" of new asphalt and a carport area recoated. The driveway wasn't sloped properly for rain drainage. In the recoated sections, cracks reappeared. El Camino Engineering finally admitted that they quoted the carport as a recoat even though it probably needed a completely new 3" of asphalt because they didn't want to be the highest bidder. Then, we discovered that the quote had been misquoted for 2x the square footage!!! El Camino did reimburse us for the misquote.

After discussions and meetings, El Camino agreed to redo the incorrectly sloped driveway and the recoated area. The driveway was done correctly, but the 2nd recoat had the same results—cracks! To us, this confirmed that the area should have been completely replaced with new asphalt.

But to add insult to injury, when El Camino redid the driveway, their equipment rolled over a section of the yard next to the driveway, breaking the sprinkler spigots + wood border to the walkway. Before agreeing to reimburse the cost, they questioned whether they had caused the problem. We were so tired of the issues with El Camino Engineering that we just repaired the sprinklers ourselves.
