This is the best Garden Center I have ever been in my life!! Beautiful place with lots of plants that are unique and different, green and healthy! The service is outstanding, they make like home! Marcos and Monica gave me the best service, they recommended me a lot of plants that I can have for north facing windows and they answered all my questions about this beautiful world of plants that I’m discovering! This is 11/10, I bought five plants and I’m thinking to buy more next time here!! Love it! Also the plants and pots are at very affordable prices! If you haven’t been, this a must to go, and they also have a cute gift shop that has from essential oils to candles and more!!

Beautiful place to shop for flowers and plants. I felt lost in the beauty of this place. Plus the staffs there are very knowledgable and kind. I bought Gardenia (white) and another pink flower from them.

Awesome source for outdoor and indoor plants! Bought a small philodendron and pot and they repotted it for me! They enough staff to assist and ask questions when needed. They have lots of pots and outdoor plants but didn’t take anymore pictures. I’ll swing by whenever I’m in the area.

Outstanding customer service! Everyone who works here is incredibly helpful and nice! We got a beautiful succulent garden. They trimmed and cleaned it up and added new rocks to make it even prettier. Then they wrapped it beautifully since it was a gift. We also got cute ornaments wrapped up. Would recommend to anyone who wants a lovely plant or gift!

I would recommend Ladera to anyone who loves gardening or gardens. They have a wide selection of reasonably priced plants - fruit trees, herbs, veggies, flowers, succulents and ground covers. They also have a huge variety of colorful pots and some garden decor. Inside the store itself, they have assorted knickknacks (jewelry, lotions, home decor), but they’re high-quality objects you’d actually want in your home.

What really makes Ladera though is the staff. They’re friendly and knowledgable. Last time I was in I was debating between a buying nicely potted succulent or getting the supplies to re-pot one into one of their planters. The woman ringing me up, Natalia, took the planter out of the box for me. Then after I had decided on it, she offered to plant it for me without me even asking. She came back with a beautiful presentation - even adding artful bits of moss (see photo). In the past, other staff have advised me on the right tomato plant and arranged the cut flowers I was buying.

It's a wonder and joy walking around this nursery and gift shop. Lots of unique finds - sculptures, garden metal art, lots and lots of pots in all colors and sizes! Plants are not expensive as one would expect in a "boutique" nursery such as this.

Found a really nice ~10' Redwood Tree there that we are using as a Xmas tree inside this year and plan on planting it after the holiday in the back yard. As the employee offered to ring us up he said they would delivery locally for free which was most likely best for the tree's longevity;) Their selection isn't as large as Home Depot, Sloat or Flora Grubb, but they have a nice selection of healthy plants for grow zones 9 & 10 in addition to a really nice selection of pots as well.

Tyler and Juliana (the landscape architect) did a professional job working with us to design our new backyard, which had a lot of tricky features with the terrain, tree removal, and other challenges. Juliana's ideas were spot on. Tyler's work crew was especially adept at completing the many complicated parts of the project and always communicating with us on the status and questions that would come up. The end result is terrific and we are very happy with it.

Did quality jobs for us building retaining walls and for drainage issues. Not the cheapest option, but got a job well done, responsive and listening throughout and completed in a timely manner with a trustworthy team.

Tyler and Vicki (designer) worked with us to create a beautiful front and backyard that received much admiration from people walking by. Anselmo and his crew completed the garden and paving with consideration our "coming and goings" during the day and night. We recommended Hallmark Fine Gardens to others and even our nextdoor neighbor hired them for their home.

Tyler and team delivered an exceptional landscape redesign and implementation, demonstrating professionalism and creativity throughout the entire process. Their expertise translated my vision into a perfect design and the team crew executed the work with meticulous attention to detail. My back yard is now my outdoor oasis!

We worked with Hallmark to completely overhaul our front and back yards in the late summer through fall of 2024. They did a great job in all aspects of it from design through installation - we redid our driveway with pavers, we removed decks and replaced them with patios made of pavers, we added lighting, and we added a drip system for the plants.

Tyler is great to work with. He is very professional, takes pride in his work, is extremely responsive, and help address unforeseen issues. The whole project was completed in a timely manner. The final cost was very close to the estimate, with some revision due to a couple of things that came up during the project. He informed us of the couple of change orders as soon as he was aware of the need.

His crew is great. They are really hard-working and keep up at a great pace. They worked during some very hot days, which was amazing.

I live in San Carlos, California and had plans for redoing front and back landscaping, but decided to focus on the backyard landscaping. Originally I wanted to keep existing hardscape, but quickly
realized that to do things right, I had to replace it all with new pavers and walls which included a new french drain since the existing one we found out was installed incorrectly
which led to my backyard wall area flooding during heavy rains. So the scope was to remove all existing trees, shrubs, grasses, walls, flagstone patio, and to replace
with new french drain, new walls, new pavers, new lighting, new drip system, and to tie into existing surface drains and to reuse existing light transformers and sprinkler
timers.

I contacted 3 companies and then expanded that to 8 total to provide quotations. I narrowed this down to 4 serious contenders after initial quotations came in and I realized
that the cost of implementing the backyard design was much more expensive. So I did narrow the scope of the project to exclude softscape (complete lighting, sprinklers, plants, gravel,
and upper area flagstone work) and the kitchen area.

Ultimately I selected Hallmark Fine Gardens and Tyler Stavros after talking to him, checking his references, and seeing his work. In terms of his quotation pricing, Tyler was in
the middle of the pack, but I liked that he was responsive to my many questions no matter how strange, he was able to tailor his quotations to fit my budget, and at the end I think I
received 6+ quotes from him. He never failed to respond even when the quotation process went into the second month and he stuck it out till I made my final decision unlike several
other contractors. His firm is fully licensed and insured for liability and workman's comp.

The project was suppose to last 4 weeks, but actually went to 6.5 weeks due to my several change orders that happened and probably the extensive demolition of the existing
backyard concrete/flagstone patio and two large tree removals. He provided his own outhouse for his 3 workers and took care to use tarps and plywood when receiving
rocks, sand, pavers, wall bricks, cement, etc materials for the job and when installing and removing the 5-6 dumpster loads during the job.

His crew is great, especially Ancelmo, his head foreman. They worked M-F from 8:30am+ to 5pm, and only worked 1 Saturday. The crew arrived on time and left on time and did
a good job keeping the site safe and clean. His crew followed the backyard landscape plan and executed to the design without much guidance from me except when needed to
certain decisions not depicted in the layout. They did an great job with the demo with removing all the old wall bricks and concrete/flagstone; due to the limited access of the side of the house,
all the removal and installation was done manually!

Tyler was very helpful in helping me select the paver and wall brand, color, and style which was beneficial since I don't have much experience with that aspect. He was able to provide
multiple quotes on the various selections we looked at and when we narrowed down the material he got samples delivered and even met me down at the local garden center to
review material options. He would meet with me on site when needed, and when there were change orders, we would discuss and negotiate the pricing and then move on. He would
provide quotes on various options and let me decide.

At this point just 3 days since project completion, the new walls and french drain, the new pavers (about 1000sqft), the new lighting (installing 17 wall/path/spot lights as contacted), the new
drip system (2 new valves tied into the existing timers), linking new drainage into existing, adding new water spigots and electrical outlets (subbed out) all are meeting my expectations!
The walls and pavers look great and look very professional! I still have more work to do in phase 2 of my backyard project, but for phase 1,
I am happy with the work done by Hallmark Fine Gardens, Tyler, and his crew and would be happy to work with them again in the future.

It was wonderful to work with a company that handled everything—from design to installation—without dropping the ball at any stage.

Vicki, the designer, was fantastic. She took the time to really understand what I was looking for, made several site visits, answered all my questions thoughtfully, and came up with designs that were not only beautiful but also tailored, detail-oriented, and easy to understand. It never felt rushed or generic—she clearly knows her craft.

Tyler managed the quoting and execution side, and he was equally impressive. The quotes were clear and transparent, and the pricing felt fair for the level of professionalism they brought. He was great about working within our budget and was upfront about any unexpected costs, which were few and reasonable. When it came time for execution, Tyler was a machine—he pushed the project forward at a pace I hadn’t seen before in landscape work, all while maintaining quality and attention to detail. Even after the job was done, Tyler remained involved to make sure I was fully satisfied. I had a few follow-up questions and tweaks around irrigation, and he personally came by to make sure everything was working smoothly.

It’s been a year since the project wrapped up, and I’m still really happy with the outcome. The whole experience—from Vicki’s thoughtful designs to Tyler’s no-nonsense execution—was excellent. I highly recommend their team.

We used Hallmark to landscape our front and back yards. They did an excellent job designing (Juliana) and implementing our project. Tyler was good at communicating project status and making changes on the fly. He was able to stay on budget and pretty much on schedule. We had some rainy weather in the middle of the project, so changes to the schedule were expected (but he always kept us informed of changes). He also gave excellent advice on design changes as our project progressed toward completion. He always had several options for us along with their impact to the overall budget. He did a good job documenting the work (contract) and change orders. It was difficult to visualize the finished product from the design on paper, but we are very happy with the results. Our project was fairly large and included a new fence around the backyard, drainage system, pathway/driveway, irrigation, and lighting.

My husband and I have been wanting to redo our yard since we moved in 2 years ago but didn’t know where to start. After reading yelp reviews, my husband reached out to Hallmark Fine Gardens and 2 others. Hallmark was the obvious choice from the start and continued to make us confident in our decision throughout the process! They were patient with us as we worked through design details and even visited the stone supplier on our behalf when we couldn’t agree on flagstone! (We ended up going with pavers and are so happy we did!) If you need a landscape overhaul, I highly recommend Hallmark! Tyler and Vicki were fabulous, worked with our budget, adhered to timing, and we love how our yard turned out! Pictures show concrete jungle we started with and the beautiful oasis we have now! Construction time was right at around 3 weeks.
