We needed an emergency fix as our house power was out. Called Fredric's first thing in the morning, and they delayed going to their scheduled job in order to help us. Julio came around quickly and determined our 200amp circuit breaker needed replacement. He and Fredric (by phone) worked together to see if a replacement part could be procured, and as it turned out, the parts supplier had one in stock, so Julio drove to pick it up and returned to make the replacement. We are very happy with the professionalism, friendliness and responsiveness of Fredric's Electric and highly recommend them.

I called Fredric when I triggered the electrical breakers due to using too many appliances at the same time. At the time I was new in the US and had no experience with US breakers. Fredric was very helpful and guided me on how to reset the breakers. That saved me paying for the electrician to come by and fix it in person (he didn't charge me for the over the phone service). I plan to hire Fredric for a bigger electrical job as I was impressed by his competence and thoughtfulness.

I now have a go to guy for an electrician. What a great guy and so helpful. After I accidentally shut down my home electric service and was told by PG and E to find an electrician, because they couldn't help me, my wife found Fredric. What good luck it was. He talked us through our problem over the phone in the most professional and friendly way. Guess who is writing a review with his power back up? Do yourself a favor and store Fredric's name and number somewhere you can find it in the dark.

I called Fredric's Electric for a second opinion after a big company told me that I needed to spend around $10,000 to replace the entire outdoor electrical panel. Fredric was great to work with - extremely responsive and was able to fit me in right away. He is both an expert in his field and a great communicator. He explained in detail exactly what the situation was and determined that there were repairs he could do -- the entire panel did not need to be replaced at this time. The repairs he did were effective and cost less then 1/20th the price of installing a new panel. Hassle free! I will call Fredric for all of my future electrical work.

I contacted Frederic about a circuit breaker connected to our refrigerator and our stove, that "popped" twice in 5 days. Frederic responded immediately, with the suggestion to plug the refrigerator on an independent outlet. So far so good...Frederic's concern was for us not to spend money on a house call if not necessary. We appreciate his honesty!

Fredric was able to consult over the phone, without the costly 100.00 dollar visit, that every other electrician was requiring. He answered the phone directly as well. Fredric has been in the business for many years and has the experience and know how that you are looking for. I highly recommend Fredric, and will call him for all of my electric needs in the future. It is difficult to find quality people that are fair with your money; look no further, Fredric is your man. I would give 10 stars if I could!

I called Fredric's Electric out of the blue because my electrician recommended replacing electrical wiring on my main panel and I wanted a second opinion. The owner called me back, listened to my description of the issue, and gave me good advices and explanations. It turned out we do not need to replace the wiring; instead, solid wire-to-lug connection is the key for reliable power. I felt fortunate speaking to him about this matter.

Over the last few years Frederic's Electric has installed a couple of GFCI outlets at a very fair price. I have also talked to Frederic by phone to trouble shoot potential electrical problems. He is knowledgeable and helpful and communicates well, so that I know what my choices are before he actually comes out to do the work.

Fred is a nice guy, was able to come to my tenants unit and replace an outlet. The part retail is $10 but invoiced me for $30. $200 fee for labor for a 10 min switch job. That’s the ridiculous part, I wouldn’t call again. Only if it’s an emergency…

My project involved electrical wiring in an older 4-plex in Oakland to replace existing knob and tube. I asked two companies to give me estimates, which were very close. I chose Berkeley Electric for two reasons: the first was the ease of communication with the owner of the company, Zalman Sher. In the beginning, I was surprised that the owner himself gave me the estimate. In the course of the planning and the work itself, he clearly explained everything that he felt was necessary to do, and we often exchanged emails to answer my questions. A second reason involved the cleanup and the patching of the holes that were made in the walls. Zalman's crew was very efficient at cleaning up the dust and debris, and they promised to patch all the holes. The other company specifically said they did not do any patching. This was a big bonus for me, since I was trying to keep the disruption to the tenants to a minimum. Everything went according to plan, and I'm very satisfied with their work.

I selected Berkeley Electric back in 2020 to do a whole home rewire (including removal of knob and tube) and an amperage upgrade, and I feel so lucky to have found them.

Berkeley Electric did an impeccable job with the rewire, including helping me select outlet placement, and since then the electrical system has stood the test of time excellently, even through a bathroom remodel and the additional of several new appliances (sump pump, disposal, electric stove, etc.).

Zalman always takes time to educate on how electrical systems work, which I appreciate deeply. I want to take good care of my home, and I've learned so much talking with him.

Berkeley Electric is a great choice not only for a re-wire, but for everything that will come up during the "life" of your home.
