Steven from Opulands oversaw our backyard remodel project and did a great job at that. He and his crew worked with us through all the steps of the project. It had several phases and included various elements including pavers, a deck, plants, lawn, irrigation, spouts, electric and lights. We are very happy with the result and with the professionalism of Steven and his crew. Big attention to detail to deliver what we had planned without surprises.

Opulands was fantastic - very transparent pricing with detailed material/cost breakdowns, great craftsmanship, and fast execution (including weekends to hit the timeline). Communication was excellent, and Steve was super accommodating coordinating around overlapping stucco/painting work. Highly recommend.

They do every thing. They even built our pergola and installed a fountain. Antonio was very helpful and flexible to meet our needs during the process.

Hills Landscaping did a terrific job on our backyard. It’s better than we imagined, and we love it!

Scope of work:
- Removed old concrete, retaining wall, dead trees, and remnants of the former lawn
- Leveled the ground for proper drainage and installed new drainage system
- Installed a new retaining wall, patio, walkway, artificial grass, and irrigation lines

I am extremely pleased with the work that Hills Landscaping did on our outside yard project. First, they were very responsive and easy to communicate with, both the onsite team as well as the office staff. Second, they were extremely efficient. The entire project started and ended on time, even though I had them do additional work. Third, the quality of the work was superb. Fourth, they were able to make proactive recommendations and gave us multiple options to choose from. They were able to correct pre-existing problems as well. Lastly, their pricing was quite resanable. Net-net, 5 Star, definitely recommend!!!!

We had an awesome experience working with Antonio to redo our front and back yards, including concrete, pavers, all new irrigations / plants, new path lightings and app-controlled timers. The project went super smoothly and finished in just about 3 weeks. We made several changes along the way and they were able to easily accommodate / adjust everything to what we wanted. They brought us all relevant samples for review, ordered and managed the plant deliveries for us and also provided layouts of all irrigation and low voltage lines for the path lights at the end of the project. Highly recommend Antonio and his crew and will definitely use their services again for future landscaping projects!

TLDR; hire Hills Landscaping to transform your outdoor space! Antonio and his team are the best.

We worked with Hills in Jan 2024 to take our front yard from a dried, sad looking lawn to a gorgeous space with a dry creek bed, thoughtfully placed plants and a drip irrigation system. Massive transformation! We love it and get compliments on our yard all the time.

Fast forward to May 2025, we reached out to Antonio and team to reimagine our backyard which was basically dirt and weeds at the time. At the end of the project we had a beautiful wooden deck with a pergola, a large section of pavers and a cement pad ready for a shed install. Literally a different backyard and couldn't be happier with the result.

Everyone at Hills cares about each project and works hard to produce outstanding results. They want you to be happy with the end product and it shows. I would hire them again and again and recommend them to anyone that asks.

I found this company from yelp and compared it with multiple quotes and decided to work with Hills landscaping. Here are the pros and cons and why you need to consider this company.

Pros :
1. Contract: I heard many landscaping projects are hard due to lack of contract and payment issues. When I got the first quote from Hills landscaping, they provide 6 pages of quotes, contract details including warranty, payment plan, etc. It has all the details in the contract and both need to sign to start the project so it can protect the company and myself.

2. Payment: this company provides a payment plan with 5-7 payments. Also, I pay when one of the work is finished. No need to worry about any payment plan.

3. Diligent: They start work from the first day we contract and every day they worked except when it is rain and material was not available. They contact me every day in the morning when they cannot work due to rain or material issues so I do not need to worry about they are working or not.

4. Professional: All the workers are professional and knowledgeable so when I ask any worker about the process, material, I can get the answer. I asked for some modification and it is always considered during the project and I love the final landscaping that we have.

5. Communications: From the quote request to the final walkthrough, I communicate with Hills landscaping with 90 emails, more than 15 times call. Most of the time, I can get the answer in a few hours and not any case over the one day to get the response. They even contact me on weekends so I was impressed with their communication.

6. Quality: We love the new paving, fence, retaining wall, putting green!. See the result in the attached photos.

7. Antonio!! : Antonio and Fermin are a great team to make our project.

Cons :
1. Only I had a problem was the schedule when we can start. They are super busy so they asked me to wait 2 months but luckily we can start work early. I think it is like the famous restaurants that you need to wait in line to have good service and good food. Plan it early and get the quote and schedule with this company!

Highly recommend Antonio and his team. The quote was fair and the work was top notch. They installed two retaining walls and decomposed granite, as well as plants and drip system. Communication was quick and clear from the office and the workers are super respectful and clean cut. After the work was done and the bill was paid, we had a few small concerns and Hills returned to help us out, which we feel says a lot. Antonio and his team go above and beyond.

Antonio, Fermin, and Epifanio (foreman), were such a great team to work with. They did an amazing job on our large multi yard renovation, including a pergola. They accommodated many changes and we're very quick to respond to the hundreds of questions. Epifanio and the crew were amazing at what they do. Super thoughtful as well. Price was very competitive with 5 others we spoke to.

Hills Landscaping recently finished our lovely front yard.

We decided to hire Hills Landscaping based on their positive reviews and reasonable prices. Initially, we didn’t know what to expect due to previous bad experiences with other contractors. However, when Antonio visited for the second time, all our questions were answered, some minor earlier miscommunication was resolved, and we were ready to proceed.

Throughout the project, everything went smoothly. Antonio and his team were professional, flexible, and easy to communicate with. We made some changes during the project, and Antonio made it hassle-free for us. Leo and Eduardo did an outstanding job transforming our front yard.

We also received valuable assistance from their designer, Nop, regarding plant placement. Although we didn’t use their designer for the entire project, their input was helpful.

Antonio’s experience and recommendations were invaluable. For instance, he suggested adding a dark dirt cover to an unfinished part of the yard without charging us. Unlike some other contractors, Antonio doesn’t nickel-and-dime clients when changes are needed. His attention to detail truly made a difference in our landscaping project.
