Did a home remodeling project with Ace. Packaged the plans up and let 4 different contractors bid on it. Ace’s Amos was most communicative and detail oriented from the contractors. He won the project not on cost, but he wasn't too far from the lowest offer, with the difference that he was someone that clearly seemed on top of things with attention to detail. Essay ahead of all other 3. On that level the cheapest offer to me seemed like the clear bad choice. I don't think anybody in their right mind would have picked any of the other offers.
During the execution I scaled the project by 50% of the original budget with extra requests. He was always upfront with putting the cost in front of me. All was my choice. However I kept pushing for the same timeline. Though he tried to expectation manage me and i had a backup plan, they actually delivered 4days ahead of the original time budget requested.That was great because another contractor I had for a separate component was totally lagging. Amos and Ace Construction was so on top that they made up for what me and the other contractor lagged on.
Also a couple times I pushed them hard on their work and Amos was there the next morning and made it up. I anticipated having to wrestle with the contractors, but not with Ace. I was impressed and now I have a long term contractor for all my future projects. I recommend them 100%.
