Sometimes even the most careful plans don't work out. At such times it's important to "not let the perfect become the enemy of the good."
When out old AC completely broke down in the middle of a weeklong100+ degree heat wave, we arranged to have Universal replace the old "1 zone system" (which never adequately cooled our upstairs) with an improved "2 zone system" that would give us even cooling throughout the house. Victor & Douglas, the technicians, discovered that there was inadequate room in the attic to install the 2 zone system, but they made adjustments in the installation and offered expert advice how we could adjust the existing vents throughout the house to maximize the flow of cool air to the 2nd floor. That has worked out well for us -- maybe not "perfectly ideal," but definitely "workably good.."
Since the contract we'd signed was for a 2 zone system, we also contacted the Universal management and asked for a price reduction. A.J., who coordinated the project, agreed to an adjustment that seemed fair to us.
Was the end result "perfect?" No, but that happens all too often in life. We came away impressed with how, when the "perfect" was not possible, both the technicians and the management at Universal AC were still trying to give us the maximum "good" they could. We respect them for that, and we recommend their services.

Perry put in a smaller capacitor but failed to attach with a bracket, just left it hanging. Took my old capacitor and the bracket and didn't put the cover back on properly. Charged $175 for 20minutes max and a $9.00 capacitor which I think is a used 1. I would never use Universal heating and air again, very shoddy workmanship.

this company only worried about them and not other people. call for service and the want to install a new unit for $3,800, called a local ac repair and they charge me $45 for repairing a burn cable, what a difference. Perry just want to get a good commission by installing new units. never again.

Very bad experience. They fired the contractors after telling them to do a 5 day job in two days. Freon froze in the lines. Drain lines weren't connected leading to water damange in our roof. The system never ran for more than a few hours. We worked with them for months. They yelled our family members. They sent a guy who cut up insulation with a knife and bled Freon directly into the air, which is terrible for the environment. It was endless excuses and lies. They took our $24k and strung us along with a few hours of work per month for months. Never work with these folks.
