Tree reviews in Colma, California

Excellent work by Davey to trim the Japanese Maples and Oak around my house. It started with Kenny putting together a proposal and patiently answering some questions I had. Abel, Stephen, and Alfredo were very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The trees look beautiful now and healthy.

Davey’s tree care did a great job in our yard. Kenny took a lot of time going thru our yard and really listening to our needs. And the team that did the pruning, the foreman Abel and his co workers Carlos and Alfredo, were conscientious, knowledgeable, careful and friendly. They cleaned everything up really well and our trees look great.

For many years Davey Tree Company is the only company we have used to care for the redwoods, douglas fir and cypress trees on our property. The arborist for this year's visit pointed out a beetle infestation on ten trees on the property. He was able to set up a visit by Graham who came one hour early after a phone call to check if it worked for me. to apply a systemic insecticide that will, hopefully, help the trees. Graham arrived and walked the property with me to show me the trees he would treat and how he would do it. Graham even pointed out the safety of the procedure even with dogs on the property.Everyone at Davey is a joy to deal with, from the office personal to the arborists, and finally to the crew who actually do the work on the trees.

While I’m the last person to want to cut down a tree, preparations for building next door on the hill behind us had made a huge cypress tree on the property line more vulnerable. The Davey Tree arborist who came to assess the tree situation spent some quality time getting up on the hill, studying the situation from various angles, and discussing the options with me.

I liked Davey Tree not only because of the care they were taking but also because they had their own crane for removal of the tree. Consulting with Adam at Davey Tree, I became more confident about a crane as the way to go.

The removal of the cypress was a success. Just a single tree cutter was all who was needed up in the tree itself — systematically, efficiently, and carefully working from the top down to remove pieces of the tree and bundling them to the arm of a gigantic crane on a street behind the house, which then moved them to a chipper beside the crane.

It was an operation of several hours — skillfully and smoothly accomplished with no disruption at all to my property or the neighbor’s. Many thanks to Davey Tree for easing the stress of a big undertaking like this!

In the three years, I’ve owned my home, I’ve had the trees done three times. The first time, I had the company who had previously been doing the trees do the trimming, and they did a terrible job. Last year, I asked the same company who had been doing my trees in Marin for 15 years to do this job, and they left a green bin’s-worth of branches all over my yard. They also butchered a few trees that barely came back. It was the same company, but a different crew here in San Francisco. This year I tried to find a company on Yelp, and when one of the higher-rated companies came out to give me a bid, it was about three times as much as I’ve paid in the past two years. My friends in Oakland had been referred to Davy Tree Company from their friends in Oakland, so even though I realized it probably wouldn’t be the same crew, I decided to get a bid from them. Their bid was more in line with what I have been paying for the past two years. They were very professional, communication was clear, they knew what they were doing and how to care for all my different types of trees, and they did a great job cleaning up. I’m very happy to have finally found a good company to take care of my trees each year going forward. I would highly recommend this company.

After meeting with the arborist and creating a plan for our tree.
Davey Co did an excellent job trimming and pruning our tree! They arrived right on time and worked efficiently to shape the tree beautifully while ensuring it will grow healthier in the future. The crew was very professional, knowledgeable, and left everything clean when they finished. I would definitely recommend Davey Tree to anyone looking for expert tree care.

We have had our trees trimmed by Davey Tree for many years
because they always do such a good job. Yesterday Abel, Carlos
and Alfredo came to trim both bushes and trees - two of which
were huge tall podocarpus trees so it was a difficult job, but
they were expert in tackling the challenge. Also there were
massive branch to take away, but they cleaned up well and
left the yard in good shape. I give them 5 stars for a job
well done! K Mountain

I am so glad that I hired Davey Tree Expert Company to trim 3 trees at my backyard. Their crew did more than excellent job, and the trees look amazing now. My dedicated thanks to the crew members, Ruben and Stephen, you guys were so awesome, and so skillful, and how you did the work, it was professional, and my backyard trees look so good and clean now. Special note on Ruben, when he threw the rope to the other tree to wrap a branch, Ruben was like a Spiderman, it was magical. When they finished the job, they cleaned up the entire area, and they also picked up braches dropped on my neighbor's backyard. Their price is reasonable, they have done quality work, and I am a very very happy customer.

Thank you for helping to keep our tree happy, healthy and safe. Kenny your arborist came out and did an excellent job assessing our tree and explaining what work was needed. Kenny gave us a quote and kept us abreast of what steps were needed if we chose to move forward. On the day of the work Abel the foreman was friendly and professional. Abel also explained work to be done and work was done safely and he made our tree look fabulous! Alfredo his assistance assured a safe environment and kept our yard clean and they cleared out all the branches and leaves that were left. I recommended your service to our neighbor as she saw how well the work was done by both Abel and Alfredo. Keep up the good work as we will recommend Davey tree company to our friends and family.

Great job, expert team, did excellent work and left the area spotless. A real pleasure to work with. Did extra trimming I needed that I didn’t realize! Benji and his crew do great work!!

Benji and his team are awesome! The recommendations were spot on, and the execution of the work was timely and complete. I will not hesitate to have them do more work for me.

Abel, Carlos and Alfredo from Davey Tree Company once again took great care in servicing our tree care needs. This time they worked on a huge silver dollar eucalyptus as well as a large buckeye tree, reducing the canopy and thinning both of these large trees. Their attention to detail was exemplary.

We recently hired Davey Tree Service for tree pruning. Free consultation with Kenny. He provided his recommendations as we walked through the front and back of the house. The crew - Abel, Carlos and Cameron did a great job. They delivered high-quality work and attention to detail and safety. Miles came over the next day to provide plant health care service. Knowledgeable about tree health and safety. Overall, we had a positive experience and would consider hiring them again.

Looking at the invoice, they did exactly what was stated in the invoice. They were actually very quiet and very efficient (they worked pretty quickly). They used double ropes to ensure the branches fell where they wanted them to. And they cleaned up the back yard of all the cut tree limbs and leaves. I was impressed with their work.

Jose, Nick and Carlos did a great job trimming my large tree. They arrived on time, completed the work very quickly, and went above and beyond what I asked. I will definitely use them again.

Called DaveyTree to come out and give us a quote to have several large trees pruned and trimmed. Adam responded immediately, came out and gave us a quote. The crew was here 2 days later and did a fantastic job! Tobi and his crew were quick, efficient and very knowledgeable. They did a beautiful job and left everything clean and tidy. Dave’s Tree is the best!

Abel and Carlos did a fantastic yet fast job on my trees today! They arrived when they said they'd be here, too! Will hire them again!

My front yard tree needed trimming of the leggy branches and leaning from the weight of the branches. Davy Tree came out and and in 2 hours they completed the job. I love trees and wanted to keep my tree as long a possible, as all of the other large trees on my block are gone. Thanks to the tree trimmers, Adam and Angelica too. Will use Davey Tree in the future.

Punctual and courteous. Evaluation of tree health most reassuring. Reuben and his team were very seasoned employees. My Monterey cypress trimmed to retain bonsai natural look as requested. Yard cleanup great including my neighbors. Conscientious of surrounding patio. I highly recommend Davey Tree Service.

The crew arrived right on time and completed the trimming efficiently. The tree looks healthy and well-shaped, and there’s noticeably more natural light in our home now. The team also cleaned up everything perfectly before leaving. Highly recommend their service.

I couldn’t be happier with the service provided by Adam from Davey Tree. From start to finish, his communication was excellent—clear, prompt, and professional. He kept me informed every step of the way, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. The work itself was top-notch, and it’s clear that Adam takes great pride in what he does. I’m truly grateful for his attention to detail, strong communication, and commitment to great service. Highly recommend Adam and the Davey Tree team!
