Landscaping reviews in Costa Mesa, California
-
We hired Killelea to trim our trees last year. We interviewed three companies and Killelea had great reviews, their price was right in the middle, and they also advised that part of the scope is to come back and trim the berries that the tree produced after the tree trimming. We reached out to the company and the project manager at least a half a dozen times, asking to find out what days and times work for them to come back to remove the berries. Sadly, they never got back to me with days and times and they won’t respond to my texts and phone calls. Very disappointed.

I loved getting to work with Jack! He was so helpful with bringing to life the vision of the patio that I wanted to build. I would definitely recommend working with Jack at Killelea Landscape, he makes sure that the job gets done and meets your expectations!

Armstrong Garden in Costa Mesa is such a great place to shop, so peaceful, all items so beautifully placed all the time! Customer service is always top notch! You should definitely go visit!

Went there to get someone to design a new patio lanscape for me.
Knowledgeable employees. They have personal shoppers and people who come to your home to recommend pots and plants. -
Great selection of plants, potting and every kind of supplies one could need, staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and available unlike other big box stores, yeah the prices are a bit more but I’m happy to pay more for better quality and better customer service.

Nice nursery. Plants are not bargain prices, but the service tends to be pretty good. I bought a tall succulent tree there and am quite happy with it.

Great service. Lovely plants. A bit higher prices, but plants seem to live longer than those bought at home Depot.

I have change my mind regarding the first review because after all Armstrong garden did take care of me, and resolved my problem. I will definitely buy more stuff from them! Looking forward to doing business with them again.

I had previously visited the store to get an indoor plant potted. When I arrived the next day I found that they had not been able to pot the plant due to a miscommunication. However, an intermittent manager who usually works another store made an extra and over the top effort to satisfy and I was impressed

Overall a very good garden center with an excellent selection, though the availability of knowledge staff varies greatly between locations. Also, be aware of the recent changes to the return policy, it is not as liberal as it once was.

This store use to be superb, however for about a month now, it has slowly gone down hill. Now, they seem to be way understaffed and long lines. I spent 45 minutes there today to buy one thing during which I saw several people just put their stuff down and leave. The staff are nice enough, but way over taxed on their duties. I overheard from a an employee that everyone's hours were cut and some people were not even scheduled. What a shame. Why not just close the store and call it a day when you have no one working? **I will modify this review at a later date if I see an improvement**

Nice people great place love plant life. Just need communication on No cash, visa, master, credit cards only. Dam Corporate if you feel that money transmits viruses then why didn't I see any one wiping down and the surfaces where everyone touched repeatedly over and over throughout the WHOLE Place.

I was really dissapointed when i went here. I had been really excited to visit as well and made my boyfriend detour from our destination to stop here. From the outside it looked like they had a huge selection, but none of it was really what i wanted or was looking for. A lot of the same items, just spread out over the large property....
I had trying to talk to an employee for advice on how to handle some troubleshooting i had with some plants. They kept asking to see pictures, which i furnished.... And explained in detail.... Only to have another employee called over who literally had no suggestions and talked really slowly to the point that i was frustrated getting into the conversation in the first place. The end result is they had no products or advice they could give me and i lost 30 minutes of my time.
Luckily i had been researching the issue via google & pinterest for a few days and knew i could at least get what i needed online. It just sucks when you go out of your way and ask for help, just to get dead looks and long drawn out statements that say and mean nothing..... And walk away empty handed. -
Nice collection of plants, understaffed. And hard to get a call back to get a situation handled after accident .

Tons of plant selection. They also have a tons of pots and decorations to choose from. Life time warranty on trees (and shrubs?). Also has a decent selection of cactus and succulents.
-
The prices at this location are the highest compared to any other garden center I've ever been to. However, the quality, the selection and the service is also very good. The first thing unthinking is that you absolutely get what you pay for these days.

Armstrong employees really know their business. Spectacular experience. Extremely knowledgeable.
-
Very cordial staff. The red clover seeds have a better price than some other stores. They also offer a senior discount.

Helpful staff. I needed a lot of native CA for Monarch caterpillars. Most nurseries just have tropical plants. I also found a native mallow that I hadn't been able to find anywhere. Bonus: My dog loves to go there too - could be because treats & butt scratches 😂
-
Gorgeous nursery with everything you might want or need for your garden. Unique Talavera. Plants are healthy and plentiful. I had plucked a flowering stem off a bush and they located 3 variations of that plant. We ended up buying 4 plants even though we were on our way to Texas.

The girl Day, that works there is a walking lovely encyclopedia of plant knowledge. She is going to Pomona University right now to grow her knowledge and really just is top tier customer service. She deserves and is capable of so much more. Thanks for the crash course and help!! -Sarah
