Hi everyone, this business has moved its location and is still ran by the same great people doing the same great work. If you have any problems with your HVAC system call the new number on the card.

Rob installed three new fans in our bathrooms and we are thrilled with the quality of his work. He is professional, honest, hard working and reasonably priced too.

So I'm working from home and my gas fire stove won't light and my only other heat are electric space heaters. Not good. I called a bunch of places, and Rob was the most responsive and least expensive of the bunch. He installed a mini-split heater and tried to repair my gas stove, but the part wasn't available. I found a used gas stove and he installed it in a couple hours for a minimal charge. Great service all around!

If you are looking for honest and quality service look no further! After our furnace wouldn't work during the holidays, we contacted another El Cerrito company and were given a $6k estimate for a new furnace. We were stunned. After glowing recommendations from two different neighbors, we then contacted El Cerrito Heating. Rob stopped by and told us the motor was broken and that it could be easily repaired for only $400-500. A few days later, he stopped by with the new part and replaced it very quickly and for only $410! 'm not sure why there aren't more reviews since the company has been around for 3 generations, but we are extremely pleased and grateful for their honesty & professionalism and high quality of work. Thanks El Cerrito Heating!

I needed a new furnace. Rob Holland came by to survey my basement. He sent an estimate which was more than reasonable compared to other contractors.
After I had the old ducts removed which were insulated with asbestos, Rob came by to install the new furnace. After two half days, the furnace was up and running smoothly. Rob even programmed it for me.
Of all the home improvement projects I have experienced, working with El Cerrito Heating & Sheet Metal had been the most satisfying and gratifying. -
Absolutely The Best!! My furnace went out and I scheduled several estimates with local companies. The first estimate was with Home Depot who wanted over 8k to install a furnace, touting that they could get me back one thousand dollars with a PG&E rebate. Then a second recommended company, gave an estimate of $5,500, but said they needed to build a special stand for my furnace because the new furnaces was shorter. BEWARE! He wanted to build some funky stand because he did not want to change the existing duct work. Then there was Sears which I canceled because I felt they would pull the same rebate stuff as Home Depot (don't fall for the rebate trap). Then Rob came out from El Cerrito Heating and Sheet Metal. Rob told me that he would be removing all the pipes attached to my new furnace, installing new ones with dampers, would be installing larger pipes to accommodate the increases air flow, would be fabricating a custom flu in their workshop, would place the heater on a manufacturer's custom pad (not a platform), and would do it all for less then all the other bids.
When Rob arrived, the very next day, he was accompanied by his very capable apprentice Frank. Together they installed my new furnace in four hours. The other companies told me it would take weeks before they were available, and it would take several days to install the furnace.
When they were working on my furnace, several people in cars driving by my house honked and waved at Rob....FORMER HAPPY CUSTOMERS :)
Rob's grandfather started the company and it is now a third generation business.
In short, I can not recommend El Cerrito Heating and Sheet Metal enough....absolutely the best company I have ever worked with. Thank you Rob and Frank, for renewing my faith that there are honest, professional companies out there. You guys did a fantastically job....very much appreciated :)

Joe is a top notch tech, carefully visiting every room in the house, including the crawl space. He answered all my Q, and was very helpful in explaining heat pump technology vs gas furnace systems.

Hassler's system maintenance team is great, and technician LaVaugh is the best! He is skilled, confident, and efficient, and communicates well. Kudos also for Sara in scheduling, she's a pleasure to talk with. Thank you LaVaugh and Sara!

Paul was friendly, helpful, took his time to answer all my questions and tried various work arounds to get my heat back on. When confronted with questionable results, he decided to confer with his supervisor before ordering me an expensive part. I appreciate his caution and concern to be sure he was correct.

While the latest appointment MAY solve the issue of intermittent heat, it comes after spending almost $8k, and waiting several weeks, to have duct work replaced that was, apparently, not the problem. It turns out that a mother board, not the ducts, was there likely culprit of the furnace sometimes failing to start. This was a rather expensive "oops" that has me very, very upset. I'm certain that the duct was done well, but the technician who inspected first made an expensive mistake that cost me a lot of time and a lot of money. I'm now paying for a repair that, on its own, likely would have solved the problem without replacing the duct work. I'm not sure how to make this right, but the poor initial diagnosis (did the service person check the board?) was very wrong and this was very costly TO ME. There needs to be some remedy. I'm not at all inclined to ever use you again, to recommend you, and really feel like spreading the word of how I was ripped off.

I was overwhelmed by the profressionalism of my technician today. He carefully exp[ained each process that he was undertaking and seemed to enamate pure joyj when he made many correct diagnoses. I told him that he reminded me of may late husband , who was a Cardiology specialist (head of the department at Kaiser Oakland) who also expressed much joy in making a difficult and correct diagnosis.

Wow, what a positive, clear, hopeful, fair and efficient experience we just had with Gabriel, a super-knowledgable representative from Hassler. We bought our furnace from them many, many years ago and I'm so pleased to know the company is still a rock solid, owner-run business with long roots in the east bay.

Services were excellent and I learned that I needed to get an exterminator because of rodents in the basement and where the HVAC. But the price seemed high -- though the filter needed replacement and that was part of the cost.

I love that this is a family-owned business right in my home town and not owned by an investment company. Really nice service though, like with all other companies this time of year, had to be patient to get an appointment. Happy with the service I did receive.

All aspects of the process were done efficiently and effectively. All agents were courteous and pleasant to deal with. Furnace is functioning as expected. I’d definitely use Hassler again.
