What Foster City customers say about local pros
-
the technicians helped with a small commercial install and kept the process calm and organized. they coordinated access with our manager, protected the work area, and kept tools contained so our staff could keep moving. they explained the plan, then completed the installation and testing in a way that felt careful. i appreciated the clear estimate and the simple closeout notes. they also verified the unit was calbrated correctly and that the settings matched our operating hours. cleanup was complete and they hauled away packaging and old materials. the follow-up email included model numbers and a service schedule, which helps for our records. overall it was a steady, professional experience and the space has been comfortable since.

I used Air Conditioning Champ for a small commercial suite where the air felt uneven between rooms, and they approached it like a real diagnostic job instead of a quick patch. The crew checked the registers, measured temps, and looked over the control wiring before suggesting changes. They explained why teh back office was staying warmer and proposed a couple of solutions with prices up front. What stood out was the pace: they didn’t drag it out, but they also didn’t skip steps. After the work, they tested each zone, verified the fan settings, and made sure the noise level stayed reasonable. Cleanup was handled well, no dust piles or loose tape left behind. The office manager appreciated the clear invoice and the way they coordinated access around our client appointments. We also got a follow-up email with maintenance reminders and a contact line for any questions. Everything felt handled with care and consistency.

The technicians handled a cooling issue that had been bothering us for weeks, and the process felt well thought out. They listened to the symptoms first, then checked the outdoor unit and the indoor coil rather than jumping straight to a replacement pitch. When they found the likely cause, they explained what it meant and how it affects performance, including what happens when refrigerant is low and why that can show up as longer run times. The estimate was written clearly with labor and parts separated, and they didn’t rush me while I reviewed it. During the work, they covered the floor, moved equipment carefully, and kept the noise down as much as possible. Afterward, they tested the system, confirmed the temperature drop across the unit, and had me stand with them while it stabilized. they also answer my questions and was patient even when i repeat things, and the office person call back quick which help alot. Overall, the repair felt thorough and the house has been comfortable since.

Only one experience with them, but I'll be back. Needed a simple bit of tin work done and not only did they do the work as I was driving over, they helpfully provided a second piece of the same dimensions - and at a fair price. Another local HVAC provider needed a week and wanted to charge the earth for this simple job. Thank you Bayside Mechanical!

I made an appointment with this company. To make the appt, they asked for a credit card? The lady on the phone was not friendly at all. The day of the appt. nobody showed up during the 2 hour window. I called and the same women who took the appt. answered and gave me a BS excuse, why nobody showed. She lied about not having my number, even though I gave it to her when I called 2 days prior. Terrible/ dishonest business, stay away!

Best HVAC heating and air conditioning repair company in San Mateo. We ask 3 companies to give us a estimate on what we needed. We have a business location with 4 roof top 5 ton air conditioning systems. Two companies told us we should replace all 4 units. They are only eight years old and that did not sound correct. Bayside Mechanical was the only company who said there was nothing wrong with the units that a general servicing would not correct. $483.00 later we were fixed and have been very happy for the last 3 months. They saved us $20,000 plus. We love Bayside Mechanical.

Frequently asked questions
-
Is GigoPro free to use?
Yes. Browsing businesses, reading reviews, and comparing providers is free for everyone. Business owners can create a basic listing at no cost.
-
How do you verify businesses on GigoPro?
Every profile goes through moderation before it appears in search. We check that the business is real, active, and matches the category it claims. For regulated trades, we look for proper credentials, and inactive listings are hidden automatically.
-
How do I choose the right contractor?
Start with ratings and recent reviews, then compare the services offered, location, and response time. Contact two or three providers, ask for written estimates, and compare what each quote includes — not just the bottom line.
-
Can I list my business on GigoPro?
Yes. Create a free business profile to reach local customers searching for your category. You can update your services, photos, and contact details anytime, and customers can book you directly from your profile.
-
How often is the HVAC directory updated?
Business owners update their own profiles. Our team also refreshes hub pages and removes inactive listings to keep search results current. This page, for example, is reviewed and updated monthly.
-
How often should I have my air system serviced?
At minimum, once a year — ideally a spring tune-up before cooling season and a fall check-up before heating season. Systems that run year-round, older units, and commercial systems often benefit from professional service twice a year.
-
Repair or replacement — how do I decide?
Ask each contractor for both a repair quote and an honest assessment of the unit's remaining life. As a general rule, if a repair costs more than a third of a new system, or your equipment is past its expected lifespan and breaking down repeatedly, replacement is usually the better value. Get two or three opinions before a decision this large.
-
Can companies on GigoPro handle emergencies?
Yes — many list emergency and same-day service in their profiles, with stated after-hours policies. Open the profile and check the response-time and availability information before you need it; in a real emergency, filter for companies that explicitly offer 24/7 service.
-
How much does service cost?
Costs vary by region, system type, and job — there is no honest single number. Reputable contractors provide written estimates after inspecting the system, and comparing two or three is the best way to understand what your job should cost.
-
Can I leave a review after booking through GigoPro?
Yes. After your job is done, you can rate the company and describe your experience. Verified reviews from recent jobs are exactly what helps the next homeowners in your city choose well — and what keeps listed professionals at their best.
