This company is BAD stay away from them! The numbers seemed great, they came out and installed the solar panels. After installation I came home to nails and extra parts on my grass/driveway. I let that slide I didnt complain but I shouldve due to me having little kids and they couldve picked them up and swallowed them. Then I go up on the roof to wash my other solar panels and thats when I find a BUNCH of broken tiles that were siliconed together, cracked and left alone, the valley tiles were chipped and left, tiles were lifted and not secured down again, nails all over the roof, spare parts all over the roof and gutters, even found an extra tile on the roof that they left. If that wouldve fell it could've seriously injured or killed someone. So I called and complained and it took them a week to reach out. They gave me an appointment when the tech was coming out to fix them and they never showed up. Reached out to the guy and was told he was reaching out to his tech and never got back to me. The following day I messaged him again and got another tech going out 2 days later. The tech comes and replaces the cracked ones and left it "good". The following day I go up on the roof to inspect it and I find the valley tiles to be all loose and not secured. This company is no good. I will be looking for a lawyer and seeing if theres any legal action I can take to get the panels removed and have a professional roofing company paid for by them to come fix their mistakes.

August 2021 is when I had the misfortune of
agreeing to have my solar panels installed by
this company. As of today we have FAILED
inspection for I lost count how many times!
This time around I thankfully was home when
the inspector came and explained to me how
unprofessional these companies are. They have no idea how to run a business, let alone in a timely manner. He gave me the Paperwork which was left outside on my meter with all of our personal information easily accessible to whoever passed by, and he explained that someone needs to be present when he comes because they are not allowed to go on our roof due to liability issues. I'm sure they will of course continue blaming the city instead of actually fixing the same issues we have been dealing with for over a year. At this point a formal complaint to the state has been made.
I hope this review deters future buyers from falling for this scam of a company.

Update 4/11/23
We are still not approved for hookup to the grid. Inspector and Freedom Forever came out last Monday, (yes it took that long), and didn’t even tell me they were done. Didn’t let me know if it passed inspection or not. They left with my gate unlocked and my garage door still open. Thursday, they came out and moved the inverter in the garage out of the way of our gate. The guys did a great job with that, but again, neither of us knew if we passed inspection. It took another day or two to find out we didn’t pass inspection and so here we are, 2 months later, still not approved to hookup to the grid. Oh, and one of the Breakers for the solar was burnt up and our GFI breakers were put in the wrong Amps and popping and overheating. They did finally get that fixed, but it took a few days. We were very closed to having a fire if my daughter hadn’t smelled the burnt smell in the garage.

I am lowering them to 3 stars for the lack of communication and obvious issues we had listed above and below in this review. I am sure praying that they get this wrapped up soon.

The guys did a great job. Our only issue is we were told it would be a one day job, but two days at the very most. Due to waiting on the inspector the 3rd day for 8 hours the job was pushed out to Friday, day 5. Thankfully the guys finished up another job early and came out Thursday afternoon and finished up. The only fault of Freedom is giving an unrealistic timeline. It would be better to tell your customers that it will take 2 to 5 days, depending on the inspector’s availability, then to tell them it will take 1 day or 2 days max.
As for value we are not even hooked up to the grid so I can’t comment on that, Solar is expensive. As for responsive, I didn’t have a way to contact the workers, so I don’t know how responsive they would be.
They were fairly close to being on time. Again, the guys were great, they got the job done and didn’t leave a mess. They locked up our gates each time they left.

Con: one thing I noticed is that the inveverter in the way of our gate on the side of the house. Now we can not open the gate all the way. We were not asked if that spot was ok. I was home the whole time. That is a big disappointment as we paid a good sum of money to have that gate installed so it would be usable.

I was having an issue with the inverter connecting to wifi. Gerardo came out amd got everything working again. It wasn't a big problem, but he knew just what to do. Uploaded firmware update and corrected the wifi issue very quickly.

I have not had good interactions with Freedom Forever in the past. However, last week I called them about a leak in my roof under the solar panels. From Shyla in customer service to Eric and Daniel who came out and assessed and fixed the exterior problems, everyone was very professional and greatly improved my outlook on this company.

If I could give negative stars I would. I had a project started through project solar. They sub contract freedom forever. Lon story short is that an unforseen adder was put on my project with the option for me to cancel which I did. The agent from project solar said that because of this onforseen addor they would refund my deposit. Now freedom forever is refusing to refund my deposit. They are scam artists. Stay away

Freedom Forever noticed our panels weren't producing, I didn't even know it. They reached out to me. Gerardo, the technician, came quickly, was very patient with my questions and got the panels up and running again.

Incompetent--avoid at all costs. These people will sign you up for solar and take a loan out even if you cancel, then you'll be on the hook to pay the loan. DO NOT WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE.

I cancelled my project with FF in July, 2023. Today, 12 months later, I learned they failed to cancel the project in their system. I spoke with four different reps who said it was cancelled, yet they are unable to let the lender (Mosaic) know, and Mosaic is unable to cancel the loan until FF confirms the project is cancelled. Moses, Ronda, Diego, Shila, Ochun (the "supervisor") and Nick have all confirmed the project is cancelled, but are unable and unwilling to inform Mosaic.

I've submitted complaints with the Federal Trade Commission and am working with an attorney to sue them for breach of contract and potentially fraud.

My solar system has not been functioning for a month. When I call the company they say they will reach out to the local branch to put me on the schedule for repairs. To date, I have not been contacted going though this method. When I finally got them to come out, the technician told me their modem is 3g and no longer compatible with AT&T. I was also told that other people are having the same issue. Freedom has not come up with a solution so I am not getting the solar we paid for. This company is costing me a lot of money in PG&E charges. Their regional manager must think he is too good to call me back. I have requested a call several times. A company technician was on the phone with him at my home and asked the manager to call me. I have not received a call. Apparently a customer is not worth a telephone call! Customers beware, this company is not up with the technical requirements of the times.

A truck showed up to my house. Not sure if the app has a notification function but no heads up for this pop-up. Ezequiel informed me that the system prompt for this visit, which is fine but no heads up from anyone. Ezequiel completed replacing the box. He was polite and was able to provide all answers to the questions I had, since I wasn't aware of this visit until he pulled up to my house. 5 🌟's for Ezequiel.

I didn't even know there was something wrong with my system. I just so happen to not look at it. My kids usually have my phone to watch videos and I guess the swiped the notification. Anyway the monitoring department and Jonathan showed up and took care of everything. I was notified before hand they were coming and what issues were there. Jonathan informed me what was replaced and what work and all I had to do was answer the door! Great service!

Update: 11/25/22
Updated to 3 stars thanks to Leslie for being proactive and having my reimbursement checks sent to me immediately as well as following up with the process. Panels have been finally approved after 4 long months and now we’re waiting for PTO. Just waiting for things to be completely complete and hopefully working without any issues 🤞.

November 2022
At first everything seemed to be good, appointments were made quickly and everything seemed to be on time. In July 2022 had the panels installed, a month after had inspection and failed due to the company not giving the correct plans. I’ve already paid 3 months towards these non-operational panels and was told I would be reimbursed but I have not seen 1 dime! Fast forward to November 2022 and still have not heard any updates. I’ve sent several emails with no responses, had to follow up though phone call and just keep getting the runaround. This experience has been very unpleasant and unprofessional.

Poor customer Service. I have had Freedom Forever for 5 years and 4 of the 5 years I have had a problem with my system not producing. The company is supposed to monitor production. They some how missed the fact that half my solar pannels have not been working for over a year. When I called the company to inform them they tried to pass the blame to solar edge and told me I would need to wait upto an additional 2 weeks before they would fix it.

January 12, 2021 I signed up with freedom forever it was the worst mistake of my life. After one month and $1000 deposit they determined they could not install my solar system on my 60 x 40 commercial sheet metal shop. The reason for not being able to install the system was the steel trusses were too thick for them to drill through. Later I got a call from the manager saying that they just weren’t comfortable installing the solar system on the sheet metal roof because they were not experienced in that type of install. That’s fair enough I told him I wish they would’ve just been honest with me upfront but no hard feelings. Now I was wondering when I might get my thousand dollars back. Around February 25 I called and asked when I would see my thousand dollar deposit and they said they had processed it and it should be going out soon. End of March I still hadn’t seen my deposit so I made another phone call and they gave me the exact same story I explain to them that when they needed the money for the deposit I sent it right away now they can’t do the work and they don’t want to send my money back this is not fair. they promised they would get it out right away. It is now April 7 and I still have not seen the money returned. I called again today and they gave me the same story to say the least I was not very happy. Asked to talk to a manager or someone in charge and they said there was no one to talk to I believe this is a fraudulent company and I will probably never get back my money. I sure hope no one else ever trust this company not only do they not stand by their word they don’t even know how to install a simple solar system.

Terrible service, called in to have them fix the batteries and it took them 5 weeks to come out here and get the problem fixed. A few minutes after the batteries were fixed and then I noticed that my home was consuming almost over 14 Kw at a time. Usually my home uses about a 3 to 4 kw. a few minutes later I called the tech that fixed them and his response was that “everything looks good on my end theres nothing i can do, please call the office”. I called the office and now i have to wait another week to get a date of when they can send someone to fix the issue. I included pictures of my usage the day before and after the tech came by.

They are VERY unprofessional. You can't ever get a hold of anyone. They say we will call you back with an update and never do. We have been waiting over 5 months to turn on the panels and nothing. We were told a pannel upgrade was needed but that nobody had to be home because nothing would be done on the inside when we were first contacted and we decided to remodel the garage and when the day came they actually needed to do work inside so now we have all these ugly wires all over the walls it's so ugly to look at. Had we know we would have waited so they could run them through the inside. They tell you one thing and do another. Do not recommend at all. Save your money and time and go with a different company. They are definitely the worst.
