We wanted to install ceiling fans in 4 rooms in our house. Scott and his team are very professional. Our fans look and feel great. We even had to do some switching of ceiling fans. I noticed a faint but suspicious smell near an outlet in our house over the weekend. After a bit of research I found that the issue could be wires over heating in our wall outlet, causing the plastic inside to melt. A house fire waiting to happen.

This morning the smell, though still in and out, was much more pungent. This sent me into a panic because at this point, I knew there was an electrical issue in our home.

We called Scott at Selsor Electric. I explained to him that I was scared and the situation felt like it could be an emergency. He was emphatic. I called him at the very end of the day and he still came out to our home to address the issue.

He confirmed that the issue was our outlet and that it was burning. He replaced it for $150 this evening — an incredibly small fee, especially for coming out on such short notice. Plus now i can go to bed tonight feeling safe which is priceless.

Our home is old. Like, old—OLD. 104. We have a lot of future work to do on it, including plenty of electrical work. We will most certainly be keeping Selsor Electric on the rotation for that. I have also recommended Scott to my mom, who has some future work that she needs to have done as well.

He installed a new 240V EV outlet, mounted and set up an EV charger, installed a Ring doorbell, upgraded a transformer, and also tracked down and resolved some tricky doorbell wiring issues that we had struggled with.

Scott and his team at Selsor Electric are truly the best in the business. We’ve worked with them for many years, and their expertise and integrity consistently stand out.

For comparison, we also have a service package with another company that includes electrical assessments. Their technician spent maybe five minutes “reviewing” our home before insisting our panel needed immediate replacement. Even worse, they refused to do the small project we actually called about unless we agreed to replace the panel, though they generously offered to try to do the small job for free as a “favor.”

We then called Scott for the same walkthrough, and the difference was night and day. He took the time to listen, understand what we needed, and gave honest, thoughtful recommendations. He confirmed our panel was original and suggested we plan for a replacement in the coming years and not with pressure, just practical advice. To extend its life, he asked (not pushed) if we wanted the breakers refreshed since they were the originals.

Scott and his team treated our home with care and respect. They were kind, professional, and simply great people to work with.

My outside porch lights, and my outside garage lights which are on a sensor were not working. Scott and crew arrived precisely at scheduled time. Replaced porch lights with new updated ones, Replaced sensors for garage lights, and upgraded and replaced inside garage lights with LED.
They were respectful of property, did the work in a timely manner, and the price was more than fair.
