We had about 40 down or broken trees after a big winter storm. Matt and his team were cleaning up a similar situation at a neighbors property. They did a great job and I asked them if they could fit me in next . They had the right team and the right equipment. Fast efficient and professional. I will have them back for additional preventative work.

We had 5 dead Ponderosa pines that needed downing. Not only did YFR give us the best price out of several contractors, they bucked and limbed the downed logs, something the other, more costly contractors didn't offer to do. All my dealings with YFR through Matt and his wife Jenn have been very straight-forward and efficient. I highly recommend YFR Tree and Land Management when you need to deal with hazardous or dead trees.

The owners of YFR have always been prompt in responding to my inquiries and helpful in determining what needed to be done (for fuel reduction, tree removal, for landscaping pruning and for maintaining tree health). When I called for help in preserving my fire insurance, they were able to make time for the work despite having a full calendar. Kudos, too, to their crew, who are professional, considerate and careful.

Matt and team were very responsive when we inquired about their services. They came out for a complimentary consultation and delivered an estimate right away.

We deeply care for our property and when we found out Matt was a certified arborist, that helped when making our decision on which company to move forward with. His prices are competitive and he is flexible when it comes to budget. You can do your project in one go, or take it day by day.

Matt and crew were on time, safety conscious, steady workers with well maintained equipment. His crew worked extremely well together. Jenn in office was always responsive to my questions and concerns. Removed numerous large trees around house prior to the recent massive snow storm. May have saved our home.

I called YFR after a late season storm damaged multiple trees in my property. Matt was quick to respond, gave me a fair quote, and suggested a few other ways to increase my defensible space. My neighbor stopped over while they were working And once they finished with my property they were able to go over and do so work on hers as well. Matt and his crew are incredibly professional and kind. Both my neighbor and I will definitely be hiring YFR again.

Simple words cannot express how impressed and pleased I am with the excellent work Matt and his team has provided us on multiple occasions. I have worked with several tree and land clearing contractors in our area and in many important ways YFR is above and beyond their counterparts. Matt is extremely knowledgeable and patiently addressed my many questions and concerns via calls, texts, emails and personal visits to my property. They flawlessly removed a very large 4 ft diameter Black Oak Limb that was dangerously towering over our deck and home. This oak is the primary focus of our views from our home and sadly has extensive dry rot at it’s base. While several contractors advised me to take the entire tree down a couple (including Matt) also believed it would be safe to just remove the large limb that heavily weighted over our home. It was a highly technical job with several pulleys and his crew climbing over 150 ft high. They also removed a huge cedar that was over 250 ft high and was dangerously leaning over our garage. As for there expertise in land clearing, our 1 acre on deer creek is like natural park that we can now access and use areas we never could in the past. We finally have the confidence that we’ve done our best for fire protection as well. Matt’s prices were comparable to my 3 other bids and even at times lower than the others. He has provided me with proof of insurance which I had verified. Matt’s equipment and safety standards is top notch. He was smart to build a crew of climbers that are actually experienced rock climbers. Matt knows his tree’s and has a degree and the experience to give honest and accurate advice. On many occasions he could have advised me to cut more tree’s and limbs but instead told me they were safe to leave. He care’s for nature more than making a quick buck which I highly respect and appreciate. I must admit I was emotional to lose beautiful tree’s and limbs while also very stressed about them damaging my home or possibly killing my friends or family. Matt and his crew graciously turned all that emotion and stress into a positive experience and left me with great relief that I still appreciate months after. I can’t say enough positive comments about my experiences with Matt and his crew and they will for sure be the one I will rely on in the near future. I know this positive review might make me have to wait a bit longer or even pay a bit more but it is well deserved. I know the value of my home and chances of surviving a fire has substantially increased because of their work. It has also helped me keep my insurance policy while others in my area lost there’s. I enjoy your talents and hard work every day when I walk my property and sleep well at night during a wind storm. Thank you again for everything you have done.

Our Firewise community graced us with a generous Grant to address a tough to reach ravine which was packed with fire fuel, The Merrills their action team and impressive equipment showed up and made short work of the area, felling chipping, hauling, winching, and masticating for multiple properties in one day. The woods look great and we all feel a lot safer. They Coordinated with all the owners ideas, and took special care to stick to the project as discussed, as it was important to us to keep much of the natural appeal of the forest intact. We were worried about the machines impact on the land but found Matt and the team to be just as concerned with care and general safety, it was fun to watch and amazing to see how much a team can get done in a day!

We have a small place up in the mountains and I found Matt and his team online. Our challenge was finding someone that would drive up to our place and work up there since it's pretty remote. Matt and I met at the property and looked everything over and talked about what needed to be done. Matt was super professional and I could get a sense that he just had his stuff together.
Because there was so much work to be done, we let Matt and his team stay at our property, in our cabin for two weeks while he did the work required. YFR finished the job in the timeframe we had set up. They were surgeons in the tree work they did and they left our property SHOCKINGLY clean considering everything that needed to be done. They even cleaned the cabin they stayed in so well you would have never known someone was there.
I own a business that prides itself on professionalism and providing a great service that makes people happy. Matt and his team were all of those things and more and I couldn't recommend them enough! Clearing brush, tree removal and very precise work around structures is all the things we had done ad it was perfect!!

Matt and his crew were amazing!!! They showed up early every day and worked all day. They were so kind and professional. It was obvious that every guy on the crew was experienced, and they demonstrated safe practices. Our kids loved watching them; it’s amazing what they can do so many feet up in a tree. I appreciated how flexible Matt was as I made new requests as the job progressed and he was so helpful in sharing his experience about what work was immediately necessary and what things could wait. They also masticated our property. I just truly can’t believe how different our property looks. I can see the sky and that has made me so happy 😀

Matt and his crew did a great job taking down two large pines close to our house. It was a somewhat tricky job and they were meticulous, careful, and efficient. They also helped to cut a few large logs on our property into smaller rounds, and worked carefully with us to maneuver some of the remaining sections for future landscaping and habitat use. Matt went above and beyond in his professionalism and service, and we'd highly recommend him to others looking for high quality work at a reasonable price!

The crew worked really hard over a 3-day period and did a great job. They cleared about 3 acres of dense overgrowth with the masticator, and cleaned up the hangers, took down a couple of trees, and provided rounds for firewood. They were conscious of leaving enough screening for privacy and aesthetics, and not wiping out everything. Matt is very good with communication and flexible on scheduling, and safety of the crew is a priority for him. I'm happy with the results and recommend YFR.

I can’t say enough good things about Matt and his team. He is very knowledgeable about the trees here in this area and how to care for them. He was very responsive, did an amazing job cleaning up all my trees, removing the hazardous limbs and whole trees and then some. His team is super professional and everyone including Matt is extremely friendly and personable. If you need any work on trimming, removing or just cleaning trees up I highly recommend him.

They did a great job! Bid quickly and had an easy communication and scheduling process. The fellers expertly and safely dropped a tree that was leaning over my house and only feet away from the propane tank. And then they chipped it all up. Fast, friendly and one of the most affordable bids.

This is the second time we have used YFR and we were not disappointed! Matt is extremely knowledgeable and has an amazing, respectful, hard working crew that showed up on time and didn't leave until the work was completed.
