Great work, communicative and helpful!

Nice team. Fixed my problem.

Bailed me out in a semi emergency when I had to replace a water heater. Even though they didn't explicitly work with my appliance insurance, they went out of their way to help me file a claim.
-
Extremely prompt and efficient fixing an urgent problem with the toilet in our new Sea Ranch home. Thank you.

All the Gentleman that work for Rick at Tom's plumbing are really nice and they are very thorough.... including Rick. He is a man of his word which is a rare thing these days.
-
Always prompt and good value for the service.

Rude bookkeeper answers calls, mgr never there, a worker came and dug holes in my yard without letting me know he was there and without a proper work order or a prior PGE inspection of corroded gasoline pipe needing repair. They are the most incompetent and unprofessional outfit it has been my misfortune to reach out for what was potentially an emergency service.

Service call was made by Augie and he was on time, thorough, and knowledgeable about the plumbing problem in the house. He was very efficient and didn't waste any time fixing the problem and explaining what he was doing. I felt the $150 charge was very reasonable.

Came right out and replaced the outdoor faucet head. Took the guy about 3 minutes. Said they'd send the bill.
$170.00.
Tom's plumbing knows your options are limited, and they exploit it. That cynicism and lack of regard for customers is worse than the blatant gouging. Really disappointing to see this in a wonderful community like Gualala. -
We had an emergency plumbing need. At 9 pm our toilets were plugged and the shower was backing up. Tom’s had an emergency number which I contacted and received a response by 5 am. They arrived at 8 am and fixed the issue. Pricing is average for plumbing (which is high for a trade job).

They overcharged us, saying we owed for 1.5 hrs. of work (@$150/hr.) when the plumber who came did no more than 1 hr. of work. He lacked a supply item and had to leave to go back to their shop to retrieve it and came back 20 minutes later. When done, he sat out in our driveway for 10 minutes and didn't leave until my husband walked out and saw him still there (doing what we're unsure). When asked to review the bill, we were told they use "GPS tracking" and charge "portal-to-portal" meaning from the moment their driver leaves the shop until the job is completed, including time to write up job summary, etc. I've never been charged for drive-time to a job by any tradesperson. When asked how they can justify this given the possibility of needing to go get gas, stop for a bathroom break, slow vs. fast drivers on road, etc., got no answer. Not happy with this first experience and judging by other reviews here mentioning over-billing, it seems there's a well-established pattern.

Plumbers were prompt in response and efficient at finding and repairing a leak and a hot water heater. The guys were easy to work with and even cleaned up after themselves, thank you!

I am satisfied with the services provided from the business. I called in the morning and got the tech to come by 1pm and finish the repaired. The plumber was professional, courteous. This is the cost of living out here so no complaints about the cost. I am more diplomatic- the company have to paid employees every second on the clock, they can’t just said” I am not paying for their worker when he or she walk from the truck to the premise or when they drive from their garage to premise etc..” the company have expenses too ,heath insurance, business insurances and so on.

Prompt, did what they said they would, informed us of every step along the way and the two guys were very considerate and overall great service

Tom's Plumbing might be wonderful for people who live in the area permanently. My recent experience was reminiscent of a TV sitcom. Whilst at my vacation home in October, newly installed underfloor heating developed a leak. Brandon fromTom's Plumbing came out and stopped the leak, telling me it was a slow leak. He said they would need to pressure test the system and - to be honest - blinded me with science. I am not a plumber, I saw water coming through the ceiling, the water stopped running when the underfloor heating system was turned off, I thought it'd be a simple procedure to fix the leak. I extended my stay in the USA by several days - changing the flight ticket was costly - they were busy so the repair had to wait. I arranged for them to have a key to get in, I kept making long distance calls from the UK to the USA for updates, and I was led down the garden path. They carried out two pressure tests to the system and told me they could not find a leak. At that point I asked the owner (Rich) who was mumbling incoherently over the phone - "what would you do if it was your home?" Very clear response "I would turn on the heating, find the leak and fix it". I said "fine, let's do that". The leak may or may not be fixed - I will not know until I am there next week and I turn on the heating system because they now refuse to do that until I arrive. I only wanted underfloor heating because last winter I was wearing gloves indoors until the propane gas fire warmed the living area. I spoke to my plumber in the UK who explained that testing is to find the leak and that with 30% pressure loss (which was the amount Brandon told me it had lost), he would have found the pipe where the leak was. However, he added that if he had been the one to turn off the heating system and had found no further water leaking, he would've known the leak was from the underfloor heating and would've simply fixed the leak. He added that he would've carried out the work as quickly as possible. Since I have z-wave technology at my home there, I know the exact amount of time people have been at the house due to door sensors, so I know exactly how many hours it took to actually fix the leak, and approximately how many hours they spent there to carry out two pressure tests. I called the owner, who wrongly accused me of talking over him, I said quietly "I am listening" he repeated "you are talking over me", I said again "I am listening" - his response "I won't talk to you until you arrive next week". Please excuse British slang - I would not recommend these wide boys to anyone. They are opportunists, and single unmarried women are easy prey to tradesmen.

I have mixed feelings about Tom's plumbing. I contacted them to see about a leak in my hot water heater. A representative came to our home and said we need a new hot water heater. I agreed to a price of over $1,600.00. A few days later it was installed. The mechanic who installed the heater finished and left the house. The heater worked, but thew water was not heated hot enough. I called the office and told them that it was not hot enough. The mechanic that installed the unit never checked at the time of installation whether or not I approved of the set temperature. The woman who answered the phone made an appointment to adjust the temperature setting. The same mechanic came and reset the thermostat to a hotter setting. A few days later I got a bill for $62.50 for a service call to reset the thermostat. I felt that the resetting of the thermostat should have been done at the time of installation and not to incur an additional charge. I called Tom's plumbing to discuss the bill, and the woman who answered the phone said she just answers the phone and cannot change a bill. I asked to speak to someone in charge, and she told me that I could only talk to her.Her attitude was really off-putting. So even though the installation was adequate, I will never go to Tom's Plumbing again. You shouldn't either.

Tom's Plumbing is fantastic. Prompt response, prompt service (right before the start of the holiday weekend) and took care of the problem efficiently. I highly recommend.

Professional, effective, timely, and cordial service at all stages: scheduling, on-site work, invoicing, and payment. Tom's Plumbing installed the tankless water heater perfectly and has kept the unit in top operating condition with annual maintenance (which they take the trouble to prompt).
