Plumbing reviews in Hercules, California

When we tried to fix a plumbing issue ourselves, things went sideways fast. We called for help, and Gerald was able to come out that same day to take a look. He quickly handled what we thought was the main problem, and his prices were really fair. Later, we discovered water was still leaking inside the wall and even started dripping through the ceiling onto our dining table, which was all set up for a special celebration. We called Gerald again, and even while we were away at our event, he showed up and took care of the hidden leak. Everything was repaired perfectly by the time we got back. We were so relieved and grateful that the whole day went smoothly thanks to Gerald’s quick response and plumbing know-how. Highly recommend for anyone in Hercules needing a reliable plumber!

Gerald, the plumber from Nelson Family Plumbing & Water Heaters, gave me a quick call before heading over, which I appreciated. When he showed up, he got right to work and was both polite and easy to talk to. Gerald explained my options clearly—either just clearing my clogged drain or also using a special preventive drain cleaner to help avoid future problems. I decided to go with both the cleaning and the preventive treatment. After finishing the job, Gerald ran some water to double-check that everything was working smoothly and handled the billing right there. He was fast, tidy, and made sure everything was in good shape before he left. I’d definitely call them again if I run into any other plumbing problems.

Nelson Family Plumbing & Water Heaters is always great to work with. I’ve had them come out to my place in Hercules a few times, sometimes to help me finish up plumbing projects I started myself. I’ve only met two plumbers from the company, Diego and Jeff, and both clearly have a lot of experience and always get the job done quickly and well. The last time, Diego gave me some helpful tips while fixing the PVC drain under my sink, which I really appreciated. Whenever I’ve needed quick service, they’ve managed to fit me in the same day, as long as someone finished another job early. They do stay busy, but that just shows how many people trust them. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for plumbing work, and I’ll keep calling them because their customer service, professionalism, and quality work are always top-notch.

I got a call from my renter about standing water in the yard. At first, i thought it was just some a/c condensation or water from the neighbor's irrigation. But to be sure, i called a plumber right away. I've used this plumbing crew before for my own home in Hercules. They replaced two old hot water tanks for us and set up new drain pans and flexible gas hoses. They also changed out a hot water tank in the attic at one of my rentals, and did a fantastic job for a good price. So when the tenant mentioned water in the yard, norman and his team were my first call. They showed up fast and fixed the copper water main that had actually been leaking for almost a week. The area was soaked, hot, and muddy, but they got the job done quickly and brought everything up to code, even better than how it was originally installed. Another time, diego and his helper helped us with a kitchen plumbing remodel. They installed pea traps, dishwashers, ice makers, and a garbage disposal. Everything was handled smoothly in just two visits. i work in sales and professional services, so i know good customer service when i see it. This team is always professional, on time, and keeps their word. I’ll definitely keep calling them for any plumbing needs. five stars for sure!

Diego and his team are truly excellent plumbers! Diego has helped us both at our home and at our local church in Hercules. Every plumbing job was finished with great professionalism and at a fair price. Some of the work included re-piping our natural gas lines inside and outside the house, repairing a very old shower valve, replacing a toilet, swapping out an old steel main water pipe, and adding a gas line to our fireplace so we could install a gas log. Diego gives honest estimates and his crew always does top-quality plumbing work. We highly recommend them for anyone needing plumbing services in Hercules.

I recently had a drain backup at my place and called a plumbing service for help. The first plumber who came out told me that I would need to tear up my new flooring and kitchenette just to fix the issue. Wanting to be sure, I decided to get a second opinion. That’s when I found this plumbing company and scheduled a visit. Gerald showed up and was extremely professional—he had the drain cleared in less than an hour, with no need to damage anything in my home. The service was quick, honest, and trustworthy. From now on, this is the only plumber I’ll call for any drainage problems. Highly recommend!

I had a really good experience with this plumbing team when I needed my foundation drains checked out. Malik showed up right on time and used a camera on a long flexible hose to look through all the pipes around my house. After checking everything, he used a high-pressure water jet to clear out any roots or little blockages he found inside the drains. He explained each step to me, gave helpful advice, and even shared a report with a copy of the video inspection for my records. I’m very happy with the service and definitely think it was worth it!

i have been using local plumbers in hercules for over ten years now, and i can't say enough great things about their service! my old heating system was over thirty years old, and thanks to their excellent plumbing and maintenance work, it kept running much longer than expected. one sunday, a part in the indoor unit broke and even caused a small fire. i was really stressed since i couldn't afford a new system right then, but gerald, who always treats me like family and has worked on my plumbing for years, managed to get the right parts and fix it up temporarily. he explained that the fix might only last a short while, so i would need a new system soon. when it finally came time, i decided to get a new heating system and also added a new hot water heater, since my hot water was almost gone. using their financing option made the process simple and much less stressful. i highly recommend these hercules plumbers—they always go the extra mile to repair things in the most cost-effective way and never try to sell you anything you don't need. don't hesitate to give them a call!

We recently discovered a leak from a polybutylene pipe above our kitchen, which caused water to pour out of one of our ceiling lights. I called a local plumbing company and they sent Gerald and Malik over within just a few hours. Both plumbers were very professional, quickly found the hot water pipe causing the problem, and fixed it fast with hardly any damage to our ceiling or wall. I was really impressed with their plumbing skills, attention to cleanliness, and positive attitude. Not only did they repair the leak, but they also took extra time to figure out what might have caused it and even tested some possibilities right then and there. When they found another small issue with my water system, they offered to fix that immediately too. Their dedication really stood out, and I’ve already told a couple of my neighbors about their great service. It’s a relief to know there are dependable plumbers in the area when you need them most.

I had a sewer backup at my place and needed a professional right away. Nelson Family Plumbing & Water Heaters sent Jeff out the same day, and he quickly got my drain cleared and working again. He also set up a follow-up visit to make sure the issue was fixed for good, so I wouldn’t have to worry about it coming back. On top of that, he helped replace my main water shut-off valve, which gave me extra peace of mind. Jeff was always on time, stuck to his word, and the prices were fair. I never felt pressured or taken advantage of, even with the messy situation. I highly recommend this company for any plumbing work you need done.

We have relied on their plumbing services for our business for a long time. Gerald has always responded quickly, whether it's an urgent plumbing issue or routine maintenance. Over time, we've really appreciated Gerald's friendly attitude and professionalism. He always arrives with a positive attitude, works efficiently, and is honest about the work that needs to be done. You don’t need to see a lot of online ads or reviews to know his quality—his reliable work speaks for itself. We highly recommend calling for all your plumbing needs!

Malik was wonderful. He was friendly, professional, and really took the time to understand my plumbing concerns. Not only did he fix the main issue—a dripping faucet—but also discovered and repaired a leaking water line under the sink that my friend had noticed while trying to help. Malik took care of both problems quickly and efficiently. Before leaving, he even helped me set up a tension shower curtain rod, which I couldn’t manage on my own. He was very helpful and easy to talk to. Even though this was part of a home warranty claim, I plan to call Nelson Family Plumbing & Water Heaters directly next time, regardless of what the warranty company says. The repairs were done right the first time, and everything works perfectly now.

I can’t say enough good things about this plumbing company in Hercules. A while back, Gerald helped us out with a major plumbing issue at our home. He fixed mistakes left by previous work, finished the job quickly, did top-notch work, and the price was fair. Recently, we had a problem where our hot water stopped working after a power outage, but the cold water was still running and the water heater seemed fine. I called Gerald to ask for advice. He listened carefully and suggested that it might be a simple issue. He was honest and told me there was no need for an emergency call, and explained what I could try before needing a plumber. Sure enough, the next day, the hot water was back, just as he said. Gerald could have come out and charged for a service call, but instead he gave honest advice and didn’t try to upsell or charge for something unnecessary. That level of honesty and integrity is rare and means a lot. I highly recommend this plumber to anyone in Hercules looking for reliable, trustworthy service.

After a really long workday away from home, I came back late at night to find my sump pump had completely stopped working. I tried calling a bunch of emergency plumbers, but the only company that actually answered and helped was this one. The person who took my call was super friendly and helpful, and in just about half an hour, Norman, the plumber, showed up at my door. Norman was great—he clearly explained what needed to be done, fixed the issue quickly, and had everything wrapped up in less than an hour. As someone who manages a roofing business, I know how tough emergency calls can be, but these folks really have their process figured out. I’m honestly so impressed with how smoothly everything went. I’ll definitely be keeping their number handy for the future. Highly recommend their services!

I recently had a water leak in the ceiling of my garage. After reaching out to a couple of other plumbing companies and not getting any response, I decided to try Nelson Family Plumbing & Water Heaters based on a friend’s recommendation. When I called, Gerald answered right away and helped me schedule a plumber as soon as possible. Gerald and Malik arrived right on time, just as promised. They were both very professional, friendly, and made sure to explain everything clearly. The leak was coming from water lines behind the built-in cabinets in my garage, but they were able to fix it quickly with minimal damage to the walls. They got my water back on and the price for the repair was very reasonable. Overall, I had a great experience and would gladly recommend this company to anyone needing a reliable plumber. From start to finish, the whole process was smooth and stress-free. Great job!

Last year, I found Malik from Nelson Family Plumbing & Water Heaters when my previous plumber couldn’t figure out how to work on my high-efficiency boiler. Before that, I hadn’t given the appliance much attention, but Malik was able to track down the parts needed and got everything working again. I really appreciate his dedication and how dependable he is whenever we run into plumbing problems. It’s great to have such reliable plumbing service here in Hercules.

A few months ago, my water heater stopped producing hot water, so I called Nelson Family Plumbing & Water Heaters for help. Norman came out quickly and replaced the heating element, and everything worked great. After some time, the heater acted up again, so I reached out to them for another repair. They actually remembered my previous job and, based on their notes and experience, thought the issue might be with my power vent instead of the heating element this time. Norman talked me through a simple troubleshooting step over the phone, and it fixed the problem right away! I was really impressed that they were willing to help me out on the phone instead of making an unnecessary house visit, which saved me both time and money. Experiences like this are the reason my family will always trust them for any plumbing problem.

Here’s your revised review following all instructions: I had a great experience with Nelson Family Plumbing & Water Heaters. I called after getting a high estimate from another place to fix a gas line that got damaged. Gerald came out, looked over the job, and explained that a lot of what I’d been told was needed was just unnecessary work to drive up the price. After he finished the repairs, the city inspector checked everything, and our home passed with no issues. Now we have hot showers again, and the cost was only about a third of what I was first quoted. Gerald was honest and really helped us save money. Highly recommend!

We scheduled an appointment with Nelson Family Plumbing & Water Heaters for help with our water heater, which had stopped working. Malik came out to take a look and spent time going over all our options. He even got on the phone with the manufacturer’s technical support to help figure out the issue. Malik was very thorough while talking with tech support and also very patient when explaining everything to us. He broke down all the plumbing parts and possible solutions in a way that was easy for us to understand. Malik answered all our questions and made sure we felt comfortable with the information. We haven’t made a decision yet about the repair, but based on our experience, we would definitely recommend their services to anyone in Hercules looking for a reliable plumber.

we’ve had nelson family plumbing & water heaters at our house several times recently because our drains kept clogging. turns out, a friend’s little kid dropped rocks down our sewage line, which caused a lot of blockages. malik came out last time and managed to clear out the last few rocks, and today diego visited and found even more rocks stuck in the pipe from our yard all the way to the main sewer. i have no idea how he did it, but he cleared everything out, and now our plumbing works perfectly again. the plumbers were friendly, worked hard, and really knew what they were doing. i highly recommend this company if you need a dependable plumber!
