Tree reviews in Huntington Beach, California

Reliable, prompt tree care, great experience overall.

Don’t call this place. They will send your address and number to every contractor in OC and they’ll have random people showing up for weeks.

Great job they did on my trees i will recommend to anyone

Kayman was so helpful in choosing the correct plants for our yard- happy to report all of our plants are thriving! I will always shop at Moon Valley Nursery for all plants/landscape.

Jorge gave our family a tour of all the trees, had a great time! Great selection! Awesome service! Thank you Moon Valley!

Great place , always friendly service !

So disappointing. Moin Valley nursery Huntington Beach charged me a $200 fee for a design consultation and then never provided any services. Ive been trying to get my money back for a month now without any luck. Horrible experience!

The folks at MVN were fantastic! Cruz Jimenez took out my old dead tree and Victor and his crew planted a vibrant Santa Rosa plum tree the very next day. The staff at MVN picked out a great tree, provided abundant free advice, and offered follow-up services to boot. Their HB location on Bushard is GIGANTIC.

I purchased 3 trees and 3 hibiscus trees along with other plants. The tristania tree fell over twice. The 2nd time they came they restaked it with one stake. I asked them to use 2 stakes but they said they only use one. If you look at their video on how to stake a tree it clearly shows two stakes. Since then it was leaning so much that I was afraid it would fall over again. I just had my Gardner restake it and it is doing fine. He used two stakes. Very disappointed in the service

Wow! Great customer service! Delivered and planted tree on time. Crew was great! We are happy with the tree, delivery, customer service and follow up!

They over promised and over charged me and my family. The work was poorly done they left a mess all over my yard. They did not take away the dirt that was dug out from the tree holes. Some of my plants have died and one tree is dead. The management was rude and could care less about customer service. I paid over 30,000 for work I could have had a day worker complete. I will be taking them to court soon. Do NOT use this company.

It was a pleasure dealing with your company. The staff were very professional and helpful, and a special thanks to Mr. Brian. He went out of his way to help us out. You do not get service like this now these days with too many companies. We appreciate all your help and you have our business for life. Happy planting. Ron and Farah.

I had completely re-done my entire back yard. I really wanted Chinese pistach trees due to their color change in the fall. I also wanted fruit trees. I wanted privacy so they told me the Chinese pistach trees wouldn’t be good because they loose their leaves in the winter. So they recommended a Chinese elm instead. Well, in November, all of my Chinese elm trees lost their leaves and have been bare ever since. So much for “privacy” and I could have got the ones I originally wanted. One of them also never looked that healthy from the beginning but I just thought it needed fertilizer and care, because it was in shock from the transplant...10 months later it still doesn’t look great. The other plum tree I got and one of the fruit trees also lost their leaves and is completely bare... so much for privacy. I also specifically asked for a magnolia tree that would grow more out horizontally instead of vertical and they brought me the exact opposite. They are also very expensive. I found the exact same size pomegranate tree in Costco for $80 and I paid around $200 for the tree and another $100-200 for them to to come and plant it. What a rip off. I tried to do my research before hand, but they changed all my picks of what I wanted. They're supposed to be the experts... i’m very disappointed

This place is absolutely awesome, everybody! As soon as you walk in you are engulfed in massive beautiful trees and the healthiest shrubs you've ever seen. The sales staff is informative, professional, and extremely friendly. I would absolutely recommend this nursery for anybody and everybody!

July 24th 2021. Humn, I started to wonder if this is a legitimate business. Everyone seems to be too cheerful over the phone and head over heels in love with you in person until problem occurs.
1. On Friday July 16th, I was appointed to meet Bill @ Moon Valley HB location but I was late so Michael helped me pick a fruiting olive tree, Bill later took over the sale; the total transaction was $899.99. I paid in full and scheduled for tree to put down on July 27th.
2. The next day July 17th, I called Bill and asked to cancel the fruit tree due to my concern of raccoons and possums. Bill said he's canceling the transaction now and asked if I wanted the credit refunded to me or to hold it for the next tree which we were appointed on Thursday July 22nd. I gave an okay for him to hold it.
3. July 22nd I couldn't make it to the meeting.
4. July 23rd I called Bill to make appmt in 2 weeks but in the mean time please process the refund for me. They gal who picked up the call said there was 15% restocking fee for cancellation. I said No, the tree was canceled on 17th already, I'm only asking to credit my acct 100%, Bill did say 100% refund as long as it was canceled before the tree was put down. I requested a return call from Bill. No return call on Friday.
5. Sat July 24th, I called again. Bill answered me after all and here is our convo:
Bill: We processed the refund to you yesterday.
Me: 100%?.
Bill: No, after 15% restocking fee.
Me: Oh no, that's not what you had advised me when you did the sale
Bill: Well, the message I got is right here saying that you asked for cancelation and aware of 15% restocking fee. But we will square that fee away when you come back for another tree.
Me: I need 100% refund before I visit you again. This is getting weird.
Bill: Okay, I will refund you that restocking fee.
Well, it's still early to say 100% credit would go to my credit card until next week but obviously to me Bill didn't cancel the tree on 17th per my request so the gal processed the cancelation and charged the fee.
During the pandemic, I flipped my entire front and back yards, it costed me 15k worth of labor, sods and plants, spot lights. The plants were mainly bought from Armstrong, Roger's Garden, Lowes', Home Depot, Monrovia and I experienced NO problems whatsoever. Afterall, I tried one tree at Moon Valley and started having bad taste in my mouth.
Until next week.
July 27th. Update: I received full refund today but I'm not going to come back to Moon Valley. I'm gonna stick with the nurseries I've shopped. Sorry. -
Be careful when buying because they have a dodgy return policy and no warranty (as stated on their website). Also the advice changes frequently. Their prices are very high, which would be fine if they had good service. One day after buying a meyer lemon tree and with the tree still in the container, I realized I wanted a dwarf meyer lemon tree instead of a standard one (would have been nice if they suggested this was what I wanted). I called three times about a return policy and was told three different things. First time I was told it depends and they'd call me back. Second time (after no call back), I was about to take the tree back because I was told I'd get store credit or take a 15% restocking fee. Third time, after I called saying I'd take it back tomorrow, I was told (by the manager Shane apparently) that they couldn't take the tree back at all because it's a citrus tree (probably would have said the same about whatever you bought).
Also, although I was told when I bought it that it would eventually have to go in the ground, after buying it I was told that it would do fine in a pot. -
I redid the garden around my house and back yard. I had several visits from staff to map out plants and a walkway and sitting feature. Several of the plants I had didn’t make it and Moonvalley came to replace them, but when they can to replace plants they punctured my sprinkler system in several areas. I asked my sales person to fix the sprinklers and he asked that I pay for it out of pocket and get reimbursed. Almost a year later I have yet to receive my reimbursement and more of my plants have died. I expected better customer service for the amount of money I invested. Shop elsewhere.

I've used Moon Valley two times now and have been extremely satisfied with their work both times. Professional, responsive, and with an attitude of wanting to do the project correctly, the entire team was great to work with, but an extra thank you to Dean for spearheading the project.

A nondescript landscape was transformed in a cohesive southwestern drought resistant one. Thanks to the team of people starting from Gunner who listened and followed through with our vision, Cesar and his team who worked hard to remove the existing trees and plants and left a clean palate for Patrick and his team, who efficiently installed the dozen trees that created a green barrier along our fence and the islands of succulents with a variety of colors, size, and species. We were impressed with everyone’s friendliness, and coordinated effort, which left for a very efficient use of time. We appreciate the transformation and are looking forward to watch our new landscape grow to maturity. Thank you to the teams at Moon Valley!!

Second time buying a tree and shrubs from Moon Nursery and having them planted. Excellent selection to choose from and excellent customer service throughout the entire process.
In particular, planting day was made so easy by Mike and his crew. Thank you! -
