Terrible experience. Too long to list everything that went wrong . No communication from Nick the owner and my bills are even higher than going solar . We learned hard way .Please research before you go solar. I wish my 56 panels were off my roof .

I know nothing about Solar except what I’ve “learned” from the thousands of Solar pitches I’ve heard over the years. A friend of mine had Blalock install their solar and fix their roof and recommended them. I had them come out and decided to with them after meeting their crew. They killed it and saved me a couple bucks! Friendly and professional .

Selecting a PV system and a company to install it is a daunting task. After educating myself in the technology, the status of the industry, the manufacturers of PV panels and supporting equipment, and the multitude of companies that do installations, I took a walk around the neighborhood and rang the doorbell of any home that had solar panels on their roofs.

Many did not open their doors (blame it on Covid!); but with those who did we discussed their system and their experience. Most of them had mostly positive things to say. One stood out in their level of satisfaction with the installation company they selected, Blalock Electric and Solar Inc, and with the salesperson for that company that they dealt with, Maegan.

I called Maegan, we were immediately impressed with her knowledge, her attitude, and her willingness to listen to our concerns and answer our questions; we had phone calls and exchanged e-mails. My wife and I are, yes, elderly. What finally drove us into action and install a PV system is the quickly deteriorating climate; but we were apprehensive about embarking into this adventure. Could we handle it? At one point I even asked Maegan: ‘Who is going to hold my hand when we go live?’. The answer: ‘Tony, I will hold your hand, but I doubt that I will need to’.

And so we chose Blalock Electric & Solar to do the installation, 12 LG370 panels, 2 Encharge 10 batteries and other Enphase supporting equipment. Nick Blalock, the owner of the company, was always available and helpful. In fact, we even exchanged a few emails on a Sunday, and this before we were live. Sara and Kaitlin in the office, were also always ready to help with scheduling and facilitating the communication between the city where we live, Laguna Niguel, and SDG&E our electricity provider.

The installation took two days. We received our ‘Permission To Operate’ from SDG&E a week ago. Maegan and Ashley came over and answered all of our ‘what if’ questions and gave the system a thorough test which it passed with flying colors.

We are 100% happy with the person who sold it to us, Maegan, who is much more than a salesperson, the Company and crew who installed it, the whole process of getting it done, and the final results. I am impressed with the Enlighten App which runs on my iPhone, iPad, and desktop and allows me to monitor and control the system. I recommend the Enphase system, Blalock to install it, and Maegan to hold your hand, if you need it.

These guys are top notch. A friend recommended me to this local company and I couldn't be happier. These guys not only beat the other solar bids I had, they demolished it and with better equipment. I was able to deal directly with the owner, who is a terrific guy. His crew was excellent and I have since referred them to many of my neighbors. If you are looking for a good local solar company who is price competitive and honest, do not hesitate to call these guys.

I am a solar broker and I use blalock electric for most of my installations because of their professionalism, communication, and quality of installation. I also had them do a small add on system on my own roof so I obviously trust them. From the office to the field they are hard to beat!

It was easy to reach the Blalock representatives and they were always knowledgeable and always took time to answer my questions thoroughly. This is in stark contrast to other businesses that use IVR (pushbutton telephone trees) and don't make theirs seasoned professionals available to answer questions as Blalock did. I would give Blalock my highest possible rating.

My wife and I have been thinking about installing solar for a couple of years. We finally choose Blalock Electric and Solar. Turns out, great decision. Dominic Labadie is our sales rep and now friend. Very professional. He led us through the entire process. I'm sure I was a pain as I had many changes but Dominic took it like a champ. He understood my plan and did everything to perfection. I reccomend them from now on for any solar needs.

The entire crew at Blalock Electric is one well-oiled machine - coordinated, professional and responsive. Blalock installed LG panels and Enphase inverters on my property. Went smoothly from start to finish. Kudos to Sara Gomez, Ashley Blake and Kaitlin Alcorn. Job well done!

Great attention to detail, yet speedy work. Victor/Victoria's crew came in and knocked out a 16 panel install in no time at all. Would highly recommend them for any solar needs. Sara does a great job of communicating appointments and steps in the process.

I would highly recommend Blalock to friends and family for Solar, roofing and energy storage. They installed premium LG solar panels and Enphase micro-inverters on my home at a pretty incredible value. Not to mention they were super competitive on my re-roof and installed brand new tiles that look pretty amazing next to my all black solar panels. Their crew could not have been friendlier and more professional. They were very respectful and safe with everything going on with COVID. I can’t wait to have them back out to install batteries soon. Do yourself a favor and give these guys a shot!

The crew at Blalock is top notch. They are on time , install the whole system in one day & have it pass inspection the day after install, regularly. No headaches, back and forth, delays or excuses. They show up and they deliver results every time. They are careful & precise with their work. The guys on the crew are upbeat and positive, a nice group. Overall customer satisfaction, from what I’ve experienced and what I’ve heard, is that they are here to stay for the long haul because the truly care about their customers. In a world of money hungry businesses, it’s nice to do business with a family-owned business with true integrity. It also helps that the owner is hands on in operations every day. Not one of those CEO’s that doesn’t show up or care about the customers and the quality of work. I mean, it is a long-term investment , so you want something you can be proud of. Blalock delivers just that. Recommended to all.

What an efficient operation! Blalock installed our solar, which was just turned on today. (Yea!!) We had to work through the installation of a sub-panel, as well as a whole house fan and an EV charger. Each of these raised aesthetic and performance issues which Blalock could not have handled any better.

Our preference was to upgrade our existing electrical panel but SDG&E was going to require us to trench to the handle at the curb to install a new panel, thousands of dollars we did not have. The sub-panel was the perfect solution, and Blalock was consistently willing to answer questions and direct us to the best way to do the sub-panel. (Can we put the pool on the sub-panel? Sure, but it's not necessary.)

Blalock started with two visual inspections of our property, and then a third to determine the best, most efficient way to run the EV charger from the panel to the garage. Blalock's workers were on time, courteous, and helpful. Leonard the roofer was awesome, super cool cat who did really nice work. Blalock ran the EV charger under the eaves and then painted the silver casing to minimize any cosmetic issues. They asked where we wanted the whole house fan in the attic -- we deferred to their judgment. They instructed us how to use the whole house fan and warned us multiple times to make sure there are windows open when it is running so we do not burn out the motor.

Sara Gomez, Blalock's office manager, has guided and directed us through the process, and even answered an email question on a Sunday (!) even though it was not urgent. Post-install we had one small hiccup that Blalock quickly came out and corrected. I would describe Blalock's work as very precise -- they did what they said they were going to do, when they said they were going to do it, they were very tidy and clean, and they continually asked us what we wanted and worked with us to accomplish it. Can't ask for more than that.

I used Blalock to have my solar panels installed and I had a great experience. Communication was easy and was handled promptly by Sara, the office manager. Everyone showed up on time and was very polite. They were able to answer my questions and address my concerns. I would use Blalock for any electrical needs.
