I began the task of researching landscapers in the Rocklin area about six months prior to closing escrow on a house in a new development. Out of all the landscape design groups, to whom I had placed inquiry, Rogers Landscape stood out and was my number one candidate. I was extremely happy with Andrew Rogers response time to all my pre-close of escrow and pre-move in date questions and his continued response, support and personal interest and attention to my backyard landscape project before, during and even long after payment was received.

The front yard was landscaped by the builder in the community in which I chose to live, but the 5000 square feet of backyard was untouched. The backyard was a nightmare consisting of nothing more than weed, rock and silt. (My three Siberian Husky could not play on the backyard rubble without hurting their foot pads/paws). My roommate (AKA 91-year-old Dad) wanted the landscape in place sooner than later and before the winter rains.

The company’s thorough understanding of flora and fauna and the HOA regulations regarding yard design in my area helped immensely, when last minute, to meet the HOA landscape approval meeting, Rogers Landscape delivered the garden design to me. The design was accepted without consequence and was met with approval. (And incidentally, Rogers Landscape, completed the yard the day before the winter rains began).

Rogers Landscape, both owner and crew, became a mediator of sort that blended two opposing landscape themes into a mixture of simplicity utilizing dog friendly artificial turf, shrubs, plants, trees, and tanbark to please the eye. The specie of shrubs, plants and trees chosen, created a perfect palette of color for year-round enjoyment. The color combinations of flowering purples, pinks, reds, whites, and yellows and varying shades of green colored stems and leaves continue to be spectacular. The aroma in the yard from fragrant plants like a bay laurel tree, rosemary, lavender, scotch broom, gardenia, etcetera is heavenly especially when the breeze picks up and the branches of the plants tickle each other. I could not ask for a better landscape design.

Looking back at the landscape project spanning 21 days as promised, my father and I were probably more than taxing on the owner and crew with our constant interruptions and need for complete control over the work being done. We even switched thought processes in the middle of the project with regards to the 900 square feet of artificial turf. No matter how far and often we pushed the envelope, Rogers Landscape was patient, tolerant, respectful, accommodating, and professional about everything. Nothing seemed to phase the company; everything was taking in stride. All the landscaping changes made to the garden during the timeline were met with polite suggestions and thoughts but ultimately, we had the final decision on everything.

The company’s passion for landscape and design shows in the result. I honestly believe that you will find no better company than Rogers Landscape for your landscaping needs. I cannot thank Rogers Landscape enough for the 21-day beautification of naught to absolute everything!

Despite the long distance between my home and Rogers Landscape home-base, I felt they were the right choice after doing my rounds of diligence with other providers, and Andrew and his team accepted the additional burden (and managed the logistics) of the travel very well. After a couple of little initial tweaks in the communication over day-to-day scheduling and power requirements, and absent weather-related interruptions because of our Feb/Mar 2018 schedule, this job ran very smoothly. Andrew and his team were a pleasure to work with and all demonstrated skill in the various decking, woodwork, landscaping, electrical, lighting, irrigation, design, and other aspects of the project at my home. Andrew himself is professional, accountable, fair, courteous, even-keeled, a pleasure to have as a project lead and point of contact, and a darn good landscaper. He was particularly helpful in design aspects too, that obviated the need for additional expense with my project. In particular, I have had the pleasure of sitting out in my reworked garden areas under the warm glow of bistro lighting these last few nights and love the added kerb appeal of my re-landscaped front lot. My wife and I had a landscape redo in mind for years. We started saving a few years ago, dialing in on a design. While working with the original designer, we realized the business was full of folks upselling products and charging quite a lot - and a huge range. This made it difficult for us to truly compare, with such wildly different quotes.

Then came Rogers. My wife met originally with David for a typical free estimate. There was nothing typical about it! David walked around the property with her for over an hour, answering questions and making sure he understood the scope. (All other folks got in, got out, maybe measured, asked a couple questions, and then were gone). We decided to roll with Rogers. From that initial meeting, the process was simple. In fact, we were able to start the project over a week and a half before our original date - and, when we realized we needed a large tree removed, this company worked around that little hiccup to their schedule, too.

Now, with a project the size as ours (over a quarter of an acre, complete redesign and install), you can expect problems. And sure, some things were added that weren't on the original quote, but that's because we realized we wanted a few other things. During the install, the crew installed a stair walkway that was explicitly according to our quote and plan. Well, my wife hated it! Andrew (the owner) hopped on a FaceTime with me at 6:45pm one evening during the third week of work to go over a new plan with me on the spot. Just a little example of the lengths this company went to get us the landscaping we'd wanted for years.

Now that the project is complete, we are overjoyed. Concrete patios and walkways, chicken area and garden expansion, completely new drainage and irrigation system - the works! Would most definitely recommend.

Andrew and his entire staff/crew are fantastic! From design to completion, they worked hard, kept me updated, and completed the job within the expected time frame and very close to budget. Aside from that, they are very good, caring, and kind people. I don’t believe things could have gone any smoother! Highly recommend!
