It was a pleasure working with this company. The sidewalk needed repair and they set up a day and completed the job promptly and professionally. The concrete work looks amazing. Pricing was reasonable. We didn’t need to get any other estimates

Dennis was extremely respectful and considerate. When I asked him if he needed help he said he could get it. He asked if I wanted him to move his car. Offered to help me with things. If you want precision, responsiveness, and outstanding work for your sidewalk, parkway, curb, or driveway project, Alonso Romero and his team at Safer Sidewalks is the only contractor to call. He is licensed, insured, bonded, knowledgeable, and most importantly, EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL and POLISHED. I hired Safer Sidewalks to repair a curb, parkway, and sidewalk that was destroyed by a prior unethical contractor. When I first called Safer Sidewalks, I was nervous. I have been in the residential rental rental and property management business for over seven years, and I have had my fair share of horror stories with deceptive, unresponsive, and unethical contractors. Having been jaded by such past experiences, I was not expecting to have such an exceptional experience that I ended up having. What a welcome surprise.
When I called Safer Sidewalks, it felt different. To my surprise, Alonso picked up my call on a weekend morning, when I called him extremely stressed out about the problem that I had with my sidewalk, parkway, and curb that was destroyed. He generously and graciously spent almost an hour on the phone explaining the process to fix my problem. Before the day was over, he sent me a follow up email with a detailed breakdown of the project. He answered more of my phone calls that I made to him for clarification, and that did it for me. Without hesitation, I immediately decided to hire him and met him a few days later to sign the contract to get the project started. He immediately got to work on getting the first city inspection scheduled for this permitted project.
Once the project was underway, I continued to be supremely impressed throughout multiple stages of the project. He immediately set up all requisite city inspections. Alonso regularly sent me updates either by email, text, or phone call. He answered my calls and texts. He sent photos and videos of the progress. He gave me a realistic timeline for the project, and he finished ahead of schedule. He did not do what most contractors do: add on surprise costs along the way because of "undiscovered" costs. The price he quoted me--the price on the contract--was what I paid.
One more note: Alonso has what most contractors do not have: extensive public works experience and regular contact with public works city inspectors and supervisors. He is fully licensed and well insured. He is bonded. He has an active Class B and Class C8 license from the California Contractors State License Board. Many contractors do not have the C8 license, which is a tough license to get for complex concrete work. So if you are shopping around, and you find a contractor that can "do it for less," you are not going to save any money. Most likely, that cheaper contractor will not do it right, and you will have to pay extra down the line to fix those mistakes. As I have learned through extensive experience, you pay for what you get. So if the price you are quoted by Safer Sidewalks is higher than other contractors, THERE IS A REASON. You pay for what you get. Pay it. You will pay for peace of mind and a job done right the first time.
Overall, my experience with Alonso Romero and his team at Safer Sidewalks was exceptional, outstanding, and beyond my expectations. From years of experience with numerous property projects in Los Angeles, Alonso Romero is the absolute best contractor that I have ever worked for.

Alonso Romero from Safer Sidewalks installed twin 6' permitted curb drain pipes under the sidewalk in front of my house and poured a new sidewalk panel above the pipes (curbolet installation). Alonso worked with City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering inspectors to ensure all was proper and to code. The pipes are for safely charging electric vehicles on the street, and both Alonso (and BOE) were supportive of this unique request. He worked patiently with me through the design process and provided balanced guidance on the pros/cons of various options I had to choose. Alonso is C8 certified and knew both of my BOE inspectors from previous work, so his knowledge and experience certainly showed. Would definitely recommend!

After experiencing water damage to our kitchen, we hired Flat Rate Remodeling and it turned out to be the right decision.
What started as a kitchen remodel expanded into a full renovation, including multiple bathrooms, replacement of all old recessed lighting throughout the condo, and painting.

Our contractor, Avraham along with his project coordinator, Tal and his crew, were exceptional throughout the process. Avraham brings not only many years of experience in construction, but also a strong eye for design, materials, proportion, and overall quality. From the beginning we felt confident in his ability to deliver high quality results.

One thing that set them apart was their support with our HOA’s insurance claim. By coordinating with a third-party inspector, they helped ensure the scope of damage was properly reviewed and fairly addressed. Without their involvement and guidance, we likely would have had to accept an initial assessment that did not fully reflect the actual damage. Their willingness to take on this additional responsibility made a huge difference and showed genuine commitment to protecting the homeowner’s interests.

Throughout the renovation, permits were obtained and inspections were completed. We regularly reviewed the work together, discussed details, and addressed issues as they arose. As with any major renovation, there were times that adjustments were required, but what matters most is how they were handled. Avraham approached them professionally, took responsibility where needed, and made sure everything was corrected properly. That level of accountability and commitment builds trust, which is just as important as the final result.
This experience reinforced something I strongly believe: remodeling is a teamwork. Being engaged, communicating respectfully while trusting experienced professionals, leads to the best outcome. That balance was achieved here.

Now that the project is complete, we can confidently say that our condo is beautifully transformed. The quality of work, attention to detail, and overall execution met our expectations. Thank you Avraham, Tal, and the fantastic crew.

Flatrate is a strait shooting company. I picked them because Avraham the sales person gave me what I thought was an honest price. Not to high and not to low. He was extremely knowledgeable.
I had my bathroom gutted and converted to a wheelchair friendly bathroom. Large curbless shower and wheelchair friendly sink. It turned out beautiful, and does not look anything like a hospital bathroom. From permit to lead and mold removal, everything was done to code. Workers were efficient and cleaned up everyday. No construction debris left on the property everyday. Avraham came daily in the morning to make sure the workers knew what to do. In the background in the office, Tal was getting the permit, setting up the lead and mold inspection and removal, and setting up permit inspections throughout. Everything went so smoothly.
Be sure the contract is as precise as possible, because Flatrate will follow the contract closely, at the same time they want you to be happy. They are not inflexible, you can make changes, and they will charge you accordingly.
I got 4 estimates, and suggest you do the same, it will give you a better sense of where Flatrate ranks.

We recently had an incident while parking our car in our garage, this resulted in our vehicle striking the interior wall resulting in heavy damage to a load-bearing wall. We contacted three different contractors. The first two acknowledged that the damage required emergency repairs, but wouldn't be able to start repairs for about a week. We then met with the third contractor, Avraham Amar, with FLATRATE REMODELING INC. He told us he could have a crew at our home within the hour to begin emergency shoring up to the damaged wall, and they did an outstanding job. This gave us great relief as the upper floor had begun to sag. We were so pleased by the work they had done to our wall, we had them continue to work on other projects we needed to do. I highly recommend this company to anyone that needs upgrades to their homes

I have had 2 jobs with Flat Rate Remodeling and they get the work done. The guys are pleasant and professional, which is nice when they are working on your home. I had a small bathroom remodel that went quite well and I am satisfied with the work. It was done on time and in the budget. I had a laundry room upgrade done as well. All working out so far. I would definitely use Flat Rate Again. I am very busy and they just take care of a lot of the worries so I don't have to.

They were nice, friendly workers trustworthy did a good job.
They always cleaned up after themselves. We stayed in the home while under construction and they accommodating to our needs.

This was my first time doing a remodel of any sort, and was very nervous to trust someone in my home. So I went with my gut and the good feeling I had in meeting Avi, and I couldn't be happier. We did my entire bathroom- shower and vanity area, and replaced all the flooring throughout my condo. Although it took longer than we planned (mostly because of me!), it all turned out fantastic and was so worth it. Avi has a gift for being positive through the hard parts that naturally will happen with remodeling. He calmed my nerves and reassured me many times. In designing my new bathroom, Avi ultimately let me choose what I wanted, but he always offered his expert insight and ideas. Miguel, Ever, Alex, Carlos and the team are not only kind and respectful, they are very knowledgeable and do great work. It's hard to do work in a building with neighbors working from home and keep noise down, but they respected our HOA rules in figuring our how to get work done, and did a good job at cleaning up at the end of the day. I greatly appreciate this! Tal is an amazing office manager, and keeps everything on track. She and Avi are responsive and timely in communication, and have been very patient with me and my work schedule, timing of payments, pulling permits for me- always figuring out a way to keep things moving. My small condo is obviously not a large family home, so I appreciate the consideration for my project to be taken just as seriously as a large home would require. I will definitely be calling on them for anything I do in the future!
