Free. Very beautiful garden. The roses are taller than most people and the irises are just as big. I was pleasantly surprised by this garden. There are a few gazebos to relax and take fun pictures in. While it was crowded it was large enough to enjoy yourself. The only downside is that it is only open to the Public during certain times of the year. Also, keep in mind that there are still quite a few vagrants in this part of town. There was a few areas where it was quite obvious that someone had been living in the bushes...

Beautiful rose garden (which feels kind of redundant to say that)and it's just as fragrant and calming as you would expect. The museums in the background make it feel even nicer. Great for a stroll in between museums and/or the Coliseum.

Free. One of my favorite places to daydream as a kid. The flowers are beautiful and smell great. There are gazebos to sit under, benches to sit on and a fountain. There are also water fountains. This is a great place to relax and it is next to the museums in Exposition park.

Smells amazing here, so many beautiful roses, some squirrels, trees, a water fountain in the middle, some gazebos you can sit in because there are benches. The grass is soft and a beautiful shade of green. It's clean here just gets noisy because of people on their skateboards. A peaceful place to relax and smell the roses. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

Very much colourful in summer . Different colours of roses with full bloom is the most incredible things to see. Only be aware of snatching outside of the park.

I’ve bee going here since I was a child. It’s a beautiful hidden gem that’s has gorgeous old and unique roses that’s a continuing collection since 1927. IF you are looking for some peace and quiet or a fun place to walk around. May you be tourist local I would definitely check it out. Nothing is like this !

Passing thru the middle of the Exposition Park Rose Garden, I smelled the sweet fragrance of roses. The variety of types and colors around me offered a spectacle, as if to look at an artists painting! The size of the garden is enormous, so getting in for a closer look may be worth a trip here in itself!
Just one problem, there was fencing in the way. I wish I had my DSLR camera with me!
There were some rosebushes that weren’t looking so good, possibly due to the weather this time of year. New irrigation systems, bordering and pathway maintenance could’ve been just some of the reasons for fencing large sections off.
So I was unable to get up close to photograph and smell the roses and to better read the names of the different types. My phone’s multiple camera lenses couldn’t fit the space between the fence links, or had to be held above the fence or outside walls for photos.
The large water fountain is the centerpiece of the garden and makes a nice backdrop for photos, especially with the roses and ornate buildings.
For visitors to the Science Center and History Museum, I’d still recommend the walk up thru the middle, by the fountain at least, if not all the ways thru.
I’ll be returning soon to keep looking for an up close update!

This sunken rose garden is peaceful and beautifully maintained. The view over vibrant blooms in a historic layout made me slow down entirely. It felt hidden in plain sight behind bigger museums. It is currently among the three major public display rose gardens in Southern California and one of the most important in the state.

My family surprised me with a trip here on mother's day and i absolutely loved it. I could have just wandered among these beautiful blossoms all day! Every variation you could ever want to see is on glorious display here. The garden is so well tended and perfectly manicured. It would be such a pretty place for a photo shoot!

Roses smelled great. Flowers looked well despite the hot summer weather.

Today my husband and I came out here just to do something different and we brought her four dogs out and they love to walk and wander around some new doggy friends ! A very beautiful place to spend a day

Such a beautiful place to visit during the spring. Everything is in bloom. It smells wonderful. A large variety of roses in every color. I absolutely love walking around here any time we visit the museums. A few people had little picnics going on.

A gem in the heart of LA. The roses bloom throughout spring and into late summer. There is no admission, besides parking fee, and this makes a wonderful spot for the whole family to enjoy. Plenty of picnic tables just outside the grounds with ice cream and fruit vendors throughout. A must visit!
