Josua Alexander earns my highest recommendation. He recently completed an irrigation control upgrade for me and demonstrated the strongest expertise and professionalism. When I first inquired about the project, Joshua returned my call promptly, discussed options clearly, and made an appointment to assess the project later that day. His analysis was clear, and he offered sound guidance to complete the work in an efficient and cost-effective manner. His estimate of time and cost was clear, and pricing was very fair.

Throughout the project, he was prompt and creative, resulting in an excellent installation that serves my needs perfectly. Josh gave me a clear and useful tutorial on using the new irrigation controller, as well as recommendations on the most efficient watering run times and patterns. I plan to use him for my future landscaping projects and recommend him without reservation.

Josh and his crew did a great job Landscaping our backyard - installing new sod and plants. Josh followed up with questions prior to completing the quote to make sure he had the scope of work just right. He is very detailed oriented and contentiousness. He and his crew are great and they are very respectful of your property and a pleasure to work with. He also follows up after the job to make sure everything is as expected. I have employed JA Landscaping on several big projects...cleaning up my acreage and cleaning out 2 -3000 sq. ft.bldgs and a basement.
In all respects, they have done an incredible job! Plus, the co. employees are very helpful and easy to work with. They have also done irrigation work for me, with both landscaping and an olive orchard. I highly recommend them!

Josh and his team are amazing- very attentive and detail oriented, collaborative, on time and dedicated. We recently hired them to do a complete transformation of our front yard, and we couldn't have done it without someone like Josh. He is super knowledgable about the plant species we were designing with, and was very thorough during the whole process. He prompted followup in the days and weeks after the job was done to ensure everything is doing well. He is a great partner and would recommend him for any job large or small.

I am absolutely thrilled with the work JA Landscaping did for me recently. My large yard was in need of a make-over. Josh and his crew weeded, pruned where needed, installed steel edging around a large lawn area, put in new mulch throughout, re-did a gravel pathway, planted new plants, installed new sprinkler heads where needed, replaced the old outdoor lighting, and more. The end result far exceeded my expectations. My yard was utterly transformed into a place of beauty.

Wow!!! We recommend Joshua Alexander and his team at JA Landscaping and Hauling in the STRONGEST (and most enthusiastic!) terms!!

Our backyard was in dire need of attention, but the recent rains and new deck installation really put it in its worst condition. We put off the project thinking it would be a multiweek ordeal, but we were so wrong! We called Joshua and within a couple of days we had a plan and a detailed estimate! Even more stunningly, the project would only take his team 3-4 days, thanks to his large and diligent team.

They dug up and hauled out all of our old grass and mulch, graded the whole yard for drainage, brought in new sod, reinstalled our sprinkler and irrigation system, brought in and poured gravel, dug up three trees, planted olive trees and new lavender, and reworked our gutter drainage. All in 3.5 days!! They were efficient, hardworking, arrived every day with a plan and completion goal. The team left the workspace clean everyday, always sure to close all gates/fences, etc (pet owners know the importance of this!). They even hauled the portable restroom away OFF-SITE everyday!!! What!?! So cool. The speed at which they get the job done will undoubtedly stun you.

Throughout the entire process, Joshua communicated with us 100%. He kept us in the loop— we always knew what the job would cost, what went to labor and materials, when the team would arrive, what issues they ran into, how they solved it!

I’m hurriedly trying to design our front yard so I can book the team again before word gets out further! :P

Why am I recommending Josh Alexander (JA Landscaping & Hauling)? The reasons are numerous. He is courteous, dependable, a great communicator, skilled and knowledgeable. He does what he says he will do. He doesn’t rush through a job, but gives careful consideration to every step of the process, plus he will go extra mile for you. His crew is great, too. I hired Josh to re-do our front yard landscape to make it water-wise. I wanted a dry creek bed and drought tolerant plants. He did a magnificent job on the creek bed - it looks AMAZING! He was able to get all the plants I wanted which took some extra effort on his part, but he was happy to do it. If you are looking for a landscaper for any project, I cannot recommend JA Landscaping and Hauling more highly.

Added note, June ‘23: One year later, and the new landscaping is looking great! I had an unrelated irrigation pipe break in another part of the yard due to massive redwood tree roots - a main line, requiring all the irrigation water to be shut off. Josh showed up first thing the next morning to repair it. I cannot speak highly enough of his customer orientation! Updated photo added Jul ‘25 to show what it looks like after maturing - very happy with the results!
