Watch out -- the devil is in the details. Shop carefully, and you may avoid the terrible experience I had with Miller pools.

My in-ground gunite pool needed a skimmer replacement, a common repair with an industry average of $1400 - $2200. Relying on Miller Pools' representation, "we do a lot of skimmers," and the owner's onsite inspection of the job, the replacement was scheduled. Miller Pool's owner referenced "my guys" for the repair and provided an estimate identifying Miller Pools as doing the work.

However, Miller Pools didn't do the work.

An ill-prepared outside contractor did the work. The pool was to be drained by Miller Pools before the team's arrival, but it wasn't. The team only had 50' of hose, so I spent the morning assembling 100' of my spare pool vac hose and monitoring the process to avoid damage.

The contractor had to make two trips to the store for concrete. Then, facing time-sensitive newly poured concrete came the revelation – they had no salt to complete the specified salt finish to match the existing finish. So, they asked for a broom to hack in a broom finish. Fortunately, I had rock salt from a water softener, but was met with "I haven't done this before, but I've watched it done." Not a confidence builder.

The conversation revealed the team was not Miller Pool's employees, but a contractor hired to do the work. The substitution now required a conditional lien release from the contractor that did the job. Miller's office staffer stated they don't do releases, but later recanted stating they were "not familiar with lien releases. I now know this is a common practice."

But wait, there's more. Miller wanted a $75 fee if the job was charged to a credit card. This fee was conspicuously missing from their extensive three-page Disclosure and Acknowledge statement.

After all the issues, where was owner Mason Miller, the owner? No inspection of the completed work, no call to check on a satisfactory job -- no contact at all. The final insult, the third-party contractor was paid $1350 for the job Miller Pools billed at $2500. The descriptor "gouge" comes to mind.

Shop elsewhere.

Was dreading having to resurface the pool. It was old and we knew we would find surprises. Mason at Miller Pool made the process easy, and we had confidence with project early on. Great crews, and the results were amazing. We have hired Miller Pool to handle our maintenance going forward.

I'm extremely happy with Miller Pool & Spa for our weekly cleaning service. The service technicians are extremely knowledgeable and I love that I get a photo of the pool after the service has been completed. They are very responsive to any questions I have around maintenance, I would highly recommend this service to those looking for a reputable pool cleaning service!

I called Mason Miller to come out and find a leak in the suction line of my pool equipment. He immediately found that I had a leak in the 60 year old skimmer and it needed to be replaced. His crew arrived as scheduled and needed to break the stone and concrete and dig down over 4 feet to remove the old skimmer. It was a tough job but they were very persistent. They replaced the skimmer, filled the hole with concrete and replaced the stone surface. The leak is repaired and you cannot tell that any repair work was done. These guys were great and very professional and I would highly recommend them to do any pool repair.

We have been using Miller Pools for about a year now. They are extremely knowledgeable and always ensure our pool is sparkling clean and has the chemicals it needs. Recently we were out of town on vacation when our pool filter broke, which caused our pool to be very green. Erica and Mason quickly ordered a new filter and replaced it before we came back, and our pool had never looked better! It was a relief knowing they were on top of it. I would absolutely recommend this family run business to all our family and friends.

Miller Pool and Spa did a wonderful job locating the leak at my pool/spa in Ojai. The office was friendly and helpful when scheduling my appointment and Mason arrived on time. He located the leak within 2 hours and told us exactly what needed to be done to repair it. We scheduled for them to come back out the next week to repair the leak. Fair prices too. I would 100% recommend Miller Pool and Spa to anyone with a pool leak or in need of repair.

Fantastic! Call them if you have any pool leaks/repairs/remodels needed. I had a leak in my pool and Miller Pool & Spa were able to detect it in no time. John and Jared did a great job. They showed up on time and were friendly and honest. I will definitely call them again if I have any problems in the future.

I used Miller Pool for their leak detection service. Jon and Jarett arrived with big smiles which is always a good start. They had the right gear and very quickly located my leak. These guys are clearly experience at what they do. If I was to recommend someone for leak detection I would most certainly recommend Miller Pool. I believe they have bunch of other pool services which I'm sure are also great.

We have been so happy with this pool service! They always show up regularly. Communication has been really good. At one point our full pool sweeper broke and the very next day they were able to get us a new pool sweeper. Thank you!

MSM does a great job cleaning and maintaining my pool and spa. They show up same day and time. I love that I can pay online. Their prices are not the cheapest, but you're paying for a licensed and professional company with great communication skills. Erica is great in the office and sends me past invoices, if I need them for taxes.
