I hired Alexander Watt to trim three of my trees and he did an excellent job of trimming them. Very importantly, he described to me what he was doing and why. I was impressed that he continually talked about what was good for the tree.

Efficient, safe and with a good eye for tree balance and shaping are my main comments about Alexander. He was responsive, listened to what I wanted done and was fairly priced. I will definitely use him again in Sierra City.

In early May 2024, Alexander Watt, owner of Hewn Man Tree Service, spent 10 hours trimming a huge walnut tree in my yard in Downieville, CA. There was a fence, and many PG&E and phone line obstacles, none of which were harmed. Alexander agreed to perform the work on a Sunday to lessen the effect on the school next door. He selectively manicured this beautiful old tree, and I wholeheartedly recommend Hewn Man Tree Service!

Alexander and his crew did an excellent job removing a dead pine. They were on time, very professional, and handled everything from start to finish, including clean up and removal of the tree. I would not hesitate to recommend him, and we plan to use his services again in the future when needed.

Alex has the skills and attention to detail that instills confidence in his abilities as an arborist. He skillfully removed two 80Ft cedars in a challenging site on my property next to my neighbors fence and did a wonderful job pruning and shaping our 40ft privet tree. His attention to detail was spot-on preventing cut limbs from falling anywhere near the power lines, but he also avoided any damage to the neighboring trees I wanted protected. As a bonus, he was kind, easy going, and gave me valuable tips for using my equipment on smaller projects around the property.
