Water damage from a leaking cooler left for several months on the carpet caused severe water damage to the old hardwood floor under the old carpet. It was so bad that floorboards were popping up! Fernando came and replaced the old warped floorboards and made sure that the subflooring was ok. I was really sad to have to put the old carpeting back on top. All is not lost, though, because Fernando is working on getting me an estimate to rip up the carpet and refinish the entire old hardwood floor and bring it all back to "like new" - which is why he dd not finish the new flooring. Great job Fernando and thank you!

Pulido's General Construction was referred to us by the fireplace store. They were neat, orderly and finished the work on time and under budget. We realize as a general contractor that several jobs are being worked on sequentially, and we were always kept informed of when the crew would be there to work. Our completed fireplace is beautiful and really is a focal point to the room. Thanks Fernando and crew!

We had such a wonderful experience working with Fernando & his team to install a fireplace gas insert and redo the tile around it. Makes us wish we had another fireplace to install. They do an excellent job & we couldn't be happier.

Fernando and the team are amazing! My old chimney was leaning away from the house and was a real risk to falling. Fernando quickly assessed the issue and scheduled the removal work solving all my problems. They did incredible stucco work to patch the wall, while fixing decades old cracks, and painted the side of my house making it look new again. Super professional, respectful and honest team. I will be using them to help me fix up my 100 year old home and I highly recommend them to anyone in the Bay Area who is looking for a skilled and talented contractor/crew for chimney work and general contracting.

I am very pleased with Fernando’s work and by his team. I selected his services because he appears to be specialized in fireplaces and he demonstrated his skills and experiences refacing mine. The team had experiences with masonry, drywall, paint, electricity, etc. They adjusted the bricks on the fireplace, did the new framing for the drywall, patched and painted to hid any evidence of the remodel.
The communication with Fernando was very clear and he was very responsive. The team came everyday for the whole day from 9 to 5pm. They were very respectful of the property and protected the working area daily. I think they worked together for sometimes and Fernando himself was there 70-80% of the time and he also helped me to find decorative solutions for the fireplace.

I highly recommend Vinicon Construction. They are very knowledgeable and will design and execute exactly what you envision. Extremely professional, reasonable priced and easy to work with. Will definitely use them for any home improvement.

Vinconstruction is the company I can highly recommend to anyone. Their proffesionalism, and communication to details are awesome. This company is still on my top list for any work at our church facility located in downtown Oakland. They have done so much including remodeling out church kitchen which looks amazing. I have hired this company to do a lot of work at my property just after seeing what they did at the church. They work 7 days with no day off just to make sure to meet the completion time. They work good with customer for approaching the better deal of their dream projects.

Vincent and the team were exceptionally professional with our bathroom and kitchen remodel. They installed backsplash, new cabinets, vanity, shower, bathtub and toilets. They got the work done in 3 weeks after we closed on our home. I highly recommend them for your home remodel and other general contractor services.

Need a deck? These guys are fantastic!! 5 days before a football party we were hosting at our house I decided I wanted a deck. Vinicon’s team built it in time before the party! At a fair price too. It was a pleasure to work with them, they were communicative, professional and kept the work site clean.

BUYER BEWARE - Gen-Tech is taking advantage of Oakland's sidewalk inspection policy to prey on home sellers. Wrote up a $1900 quote for replacing an easily repairable sidewalk. Do your due diligence and get a second and third opinion or waste your money on an unnecessary service.

The Altamira team was great to work with. Oscar is very friendly and answered any questions we had. They took care of all the paperwork needed (permits with the city) and I just payed the permit fees. Great and painless experience and have my recommendation!

I would absolutely recommend Oscar and Daniel for your retrofit projects. They made a very difficult, scary, and expensive project much more stress free than I had imagined it would be. They handled my lack of knowledge with empathy, kindness and patience. I'm very appreciative of their honest work. They treat their employee/staff amazingly which speak volumes as to they type of business that is being run. They were very reasonably priced and helped me navigate the reason for their pricing, making sure that, laws and insurance issues were being followed. I can't recommend them enough. I'm hoping to hire them on for other large projects as they come my way.

Oscar and his team were wonderful to work with! Oscar inspected our house and gave us really helpful input and an estimate for a seismic retrofit. He got us into the schedule promptly and the work was done well and efficiently. Highly recommend!

I contacted Altamira Construction Company for the Earthquake Brace + Bolt program. Of all the contractors I reached out to, they were the most knowlegeable and Oscar was extremely good at explaining everything that needed to happen and any possible roadblocks. They took care of all the requirements from the program and would notify me every time there was action item for me. I would highly recommend them. They made the process painless.

We initially reached out to Altamira Construction after receiving an earthquake brace & bolt grant and Oscar came out to do our inspection and estimate. He was incredibly friendly and helpful in taking a look at our foundation and offering advice on the best approach, but due to the bad timing of the grant program, they weren't able to accommodate us (we actually weren't able to find a contractor in the entire bay area that would have been able to schedule us in time to meet the deadline imposed for the grant).

In addition to the brace & bolt, we also needed to replace a section of foundation that a previous owner had compromised by digging out areas of the basement crawl space. After receiving several estimates from other companies for the foundation work alone that were RIDICULOUS, we decided to reach back out to Altamira Construction and get an estimate from them. The bid from Altamira was extremely fair and pretty much right in line with what our expectations were before we began the whole process, and since Oscar was consistently more straight forward and helpful than anyone from the other companies, we decided that they'd be our best bet to replace both the section of foundation and do the earthquake retrofit.

Daniel was the lead on our project and he and the rest of his team were awesome. He always took the time to update us on progress, letting us know what to expect while communicating next steps, explaining options, etc.. He was also great about making sure things were tidied up as much as possible at the end of each day. We ended up having to travel for a week in the middle of the project and I felt more than comfortable with Daniel continuing to work while we were away. He was even nice enough to send a couple pics via text to update us on the progress.

All-in-all, the project took about a month, with a week or so of that time spent waiting for inspections from the city. To contrast, our neighbor also started their foundation work with a prominent competitor at the same time as us and they're still working.

The only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 is that we ended up having to wait a lot longer than initially planned before they were able to start the work - about 6-7 months instead of the 2-3 we were expecting. Aside from that, everything went smoothly. The new foundation looks great, as does the replaced stucco, and we're very happy with the overall quality of the work. I'd definitely recommend working with Oscar and Daniel at Altamira for any foundation work you need done.

Altamira provided excellent customer service and was very thorough with each step of the project when repairing my foundation along with earthquake retrofitting. They were also very punctual with their expected timeline.

We would highly recommend Altamira to others for their seismic retrofit projects - ours involved bolting and shear wall installation. We were referred to Altamira by our structural engineer. They had the most competitive bid we received from multiple contractors the engineer referred us to. Everyone we worked with (Daniel, Oscar, Ricardo, and Gerardo) were friendly, respectful, and skilled at their roles. They made the process easy and efficient both for the administrative tasks (photos, permits) and the construction itself. Throughout the project, they kept the work area and staging areas clean and well organized. We also appreciated their willingness to answer questions and help us better understand how the different aspects of the project were strengthening our home. We feel very confident in their work and are now resting more easily knowing our home is more secure.

Altamira did some foundation repairs on our 100 year old home and did an excellent job! They gave us a fair assessment of our foundation and a good price for the repairs. Arrived on time and finished the work when they said they would. They were very communicative throughout the whole process and always kept us in the loop as the project progressed.

They also suggested future work to water proof our foundation and were honest enough to tell us how we could get that work done for less.
