Swimming Pool Contractor reviews in Oceanside, California

Buyer beware! Owner charges $1,100 for a "design" and in my case at least, the design was amateurish and didn't represent the shape of my house or yard. He then refused to refund when I decided to not go ahead with the building of the pool. Other pool contractors will give you a much more sophisticated design using measurements and google earth and they do it for free in some cases.

Waterworks Pool Concepts was hired to design and complete an entire yard tear down and build out. With a pool/large spa, large yard sized deck, solar powered, yard design and lighting. Turned into even a more Complex project as El Niño hit and being on a steep hill in Bay Park, we had rain water related issues not in the contract, but were solved without charge or complaint by WPC.
All projects including the permits and inspections were all handled by WPC with no nickle or dime experience which I would have expected with other service providers.
The results were beyond my expectations, the experience was entirely positive the full multi month job, which was stress free despite traveling during stretches of the projects. They always delivered on their word, and showed up when promised.
I am not only a very happy customer, I am a big fan!!! You can trust in them and will be happy you chose them. They make sure of it!!!

Dave was great. His creative eye and experience helped guide us to building a pool we love and are in with our kids almost everyday. We’d happily use him again and would refer him to any kind of our friends and family.

Dave Mannigel and his crew did a great job on our pool close to 4yrs. But the reason for this review is the care and service they have provided since. Even though the pool was out of their warranty period Dave has continued to go out of his way for any pool issues I’ve had since. Most recent he has answered and returned my calls on a weekend when I had a pool emergency that otherwise without his help most likely would have resulted in all the water from my pool draining cause me a bigger disaster. Thank You Dave for your continued help even though there is no requirement for you to assist me! This type of customer care and assistance I would put above most other pool builders. This type of care sets Waterworks Pool Concepts apart from the rest. Thank You again Dave for your professionalism and support 👊🏼

Waterworks Pool Concepts did an amazing job! Dave presented us with a beautiful design & certainly delivered. Not only do we love our pool & spa, but the hardscape/concrete was top notch.
Appreciated Dave’s attention to detail throughout our entire project. Highly recommend!

Waterworks Pool Concepts designed and built a complete backyard of our new home in Del Sur including a large pool/spa, solar system, outdoor kitchen, a deck and concrete planters in 2015, and we have been enjoying it since. Dave, the company owner, was driving the whole project smoothly, professionally, timely, always with a positive and friendly attitude. All permits were obtained and inspections passed flawlessly. His associates performed a good quality work.
Even now, after many years, Dave is our first contact with any pool related questions and small repairs, and he always helps!
We highly recommend Dave and his company to anyone who is looking for a good pool/hardscape contractor.

We love our pool !!!
We had an absolutely amazing experience with Dave and his company. Daves attention to detail was very impressive, his team are very knowledgeable and well mannered. Our pool was finished on time and on budget. His input and ideas helped us create our dream pool and back yard. I would absolutely recommend his company to anyone wanting a reliable, affordable pool company with a great reputation.

I had a great experience with Dave and his team. He presented design options and patiently worked with us as we modified the entire plan to get the perfect layout for us. The renovations of our 35 year old pool were done perfectly. His team was easy to have around and finished on schedule. I am a realtor and have confidently referred Dave to clients who price shop and they consistently choose Waterworks for new pool installations and renovations. Routinely they thank me for getting them in touch with such a great company. If I were in the market for a pool of any design I would hands down use Dave and Waterworks Pool Concepts.

Our pool is a piece of art. Dave and his coworkers know how to build beautiful pools. Our backyard is a place to relax or a place to workout in. Highly recommended.

UPDATE on our review: I have to add "great service" to our recommendation. After three years, I sent one text to Dave and he responds within a few minutes and has one of his guys here first thing Monday morning. Wow!

ORIGINAL Review:
We picked Dave and the crew at Waterworks Pool Concepts after interviewing 8 other contractors. Dave's references raved about the level of service from Waterworks and they were right.
We started with a design in mind and Dave refined it and had great suggestions. For instance, he figured out how to get the maximum solar heating area on a small area roof - extending our swimming season.
The construction process was efficient, professional, and respectful of us and our neighbors. We are extremely pleased with how the pool came out.
Two years later, and it still looks like new and there are no problems. We've recommended Waterworks to our neighbors and would recommend them to anyone!
