Landscaping reviews in Palo Alto, California

Be careful when you buy plants here, we happened to pass by this place 2 times and we loved all the plants and spent around $500 on pots and plants. We realized that 4 of the plants had aphids which immediately expands over all of our plants in our house and ruined our beautiful plant full house. We did not manage to get rid of the aphids and had to throw them away. All the herbal garden got destroyed too. But that was not the end of it. The soil we got in this place had so many bugs living in it. And spread through the whole house for all next generations of plants we bought from another place. Will never go back to that place.

One of the best nurseries in the Bay Area! Incredibly friendly, helpful, and most importantly knowledgable staff! Came to buy beneficial nematodes… left with a trunk full of veggies and perennials. I’ll be back!

I love visiting nurseries that are you of my area. Loved this place. Lots of plants to choose from; indoor and outdoor. Staff was very knowledgeable!! Wish this please was in my neighborhood instead of 3 hours away.

I asked an employee "Excuse me, I was wondering do you have milkweed?" He snapped at me "Yeah, you and everybody else! We don't have milkweed and won't for at least two weeks!"
Ok, message received: they don't want my business. I ordered some native species of milkweed from Joyful butterfly and they arrived healthy, within a week. The other plants I needed I bought from Home Depot.
I wouldn't have minded waiting a few weeks for the milkweed to come in, but I do mind being snapped at. -
Super professional service that goes the extra mile. I was bumbling around figuring out how to buy a Christmas tree for the first time, but Yuri gave great advice, trimmed the extra branches so the tree stand would fit, installed the tree stand, and tied up the tree on top of my car for me. Thank you!

Lots and lots of plants, but not a great selection of natives (maybe I was expecting too much). I was also hoping for a better selection of outdoor pots, and experienced some serious sticker shock. I arrived in my truck, ready to buy several big pots and several 5 gallon manzanita, and I left empty handed.

This place is DANGEROUS! My sister got knocked over by a forklift in the parking lot from behind this past weekend! She sustained a huge soft tissue injury in her leg. The driver of the forklift didn’t see he knocked somebody over and continued to run over her. She screamed, other people screamed and gestured before he stopped. After many hours in the ER, she came back to the parking lot to pickup her car. Another forklift was in the parking lot, with 2 tall trees on the lift, and the guy was going super fast!!! This place obviously has no safety measures in place. Boycott them!

It's ok, not the best nursery, come here for the convenience only. Same store in Cupertino has better selection and better organized. All nurseries are overpriced. Sometimes (not always) you can find quality plants from Home Depot at much cheaper price.

Lovely nursery.....well stocked....
Clean and seems like very well organized to keep staff and customers Covid protected.
Prices a little more than in box stores, but they have more selection and the browsing experience is Wonderful -
I've been here dozens of times, and appreciate the wide selection, including an area dedicated to California natives. Pricing is fair, but is not always clearly displayed, which can be frustrating. Some staff here are tremendously helpful (Judith has shared great thoughts on landscaping with natives), but I've had many more unhelpful experiences where staff seem bothered by any question. Not many other options in the area.

Really, really frustrating website and phone service. The website populates with everything but what you're looking for, despite typing your query into the search bar, forcing you to scroll through pages and pages in your search. Further, their phone number is justa recording-no live person. I don't feel like driving half an hour to see if someone has what I'm looking for, only to be disappointed. It would also be nice if their stores communicated their inventory via some sort of computer so that they can check on availability at another location.

Long story short the experience I had was like “Red Carpet” Sergio was exceptional with his knowledge and willingness to help me creat two pots with placing succulents and potting them within 15 minutes so that I could have them ready for the next day owner visit to my beautiful apartment community in San Jose. Thank you so much. P.S the owner loved them..

I really wanted to love this place. They have such a vast selection of plants and gardening supplies. But none of it matters much after you get home and realize the tree you've purchased is full of pests. We found leafminers and aphids in our clementine tree after unloading it from our vehicle. We went to lowes the next day to find that their clementine trees were in much better condition, and at almost half the price :( :( :(. Lowe's wins for us. We, sadly, won't be back.

For all those who love plants I would like to warn you. All the plants I got from here were lovely, however they all develop bugs/aphid which has destroyed my other plants too. I purchased from here many times but then started noticing only the plants I bought here had aphids. I really like the variety they had here but it is disheartening when all your plants get affected by this ! If anyone knows of a pest free nursery please do suggest.

What a great find! The staff and selection here are excellent. It's a little out of my way, but I was so pleased with my experience here that I joined the customer rewards program with an aim to return here at least every other month of the planting and growing seasons.

This is a great place to visit that has varieties that are a little harder to find at the box hardware stores.
I asked a person watering plants a question and got creeped out by their intense stare, so I just moved on.
The people at checkout were nice and friendly.
Clean, organized and well stocked nursery. A little pricer, but everything seemed non-gmo, local and organic. They had what I was looking for so I didn't mind paying a little extra. -
This is one of the best nurseries I've ever been to! Huge selection of plants, lots of different accessories, and all at great prices! Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, noticed them proving other customers good advice! I'll definitely be coming back 🙂

Excellent product selection and very friendly staff. We needed fertilizer and a couple other things - the staff was super helpful in finding exactly what we needed.

One of my favorite places to go! I always find the right things for gardening and some fun surprises. They were great during the pandemic with delivery, but it is so much nicer to shop in person. Kind and helpful staff too.

Always very friendly service. I would like to thank Yuri for his tremendous help during these last 3 years I’ve been there and also Justin for doing an amazing job at running this place! On a downside, I would say the people working at the cashier’s desk are not that friendly.

Nice garden shop, you can tell they care. Many employees around asking if help is needed, also found some handy yard sticks placed throughout to the potting area to help make sure you're getting the right fit!
