Our experience with Details Landscape Art was great. Scott to the time to listen to our concerns and come up with a beautiful plan for our home. I would highly recommend Details to anyone who is looking to make their yard (front or back) a living art to enjoy everyday.

My husband and I so enjoyed working with Scott and his team to replace our retaining wall and completely refresh our hillside garden. Having full sun and full shade and a steep slope made for a challenging project. Scott was always available and completely engaged in developing the plan, executing the project, supervising the installation and providing all the information we needed to achieve our desired result. Scott provided helpful references and took all necessary steps to ensure our satisfaction. We highly recommend him.

Details Landscape Art recently finished a landscaping project at my house, which included about 300 plants, a stamped concrete patio, path and patio lighting, and a fence. The finished product is spectacular. Scott Bradley and his expert crew were a total delight to work with. Scott was involved hands on in every moment of the work. He personally took pride and pleasure in every phase. His enthusiasm was noteworthy. He routinely discussed design issues with me and incorporated my preferences into the work. The entire experience was highly positive.

My husband and I came across Details Landscape Art through their website and contacted them about helping us with our front yard. Scott came out and met with us and we discussed our needs and budget. He took into consideration our busy lifestyle and need for a low maintenance yard and made both plant and layout suggestions that would give us the look we wanted while being something we could maintain easily. He prepared a design for us and after approval, the crew arrived shortly thereafter. The process went fairly quickly and Scott's crew was friendly and on time every day. It has been several years now and our yard has matured into a beautiful garden. We are very pleased with the results and highly recommend Scott and Details Landscape Art to all of our friends.

We used Details Landscape Art about 6 years ago to design and build our backyard from the ground up. We had seen the work Scott had done on our neighbors’ yard and decided to give him a call. He created a beautiful design utilizing the space in a way we had not previously considered. From the concrete patio, stone pathways, sitting wall, and gorgeous plants and trees, we couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out. We’ve received many compliments over the years and the landscape has matured beautifully.

When we decided to rework our front yard knew who to call. Scott helped up to create an inviting new design. We wanted to remove our lawn but weren’t sure what to do with the space. He designed a new front walkway and managed to fill the space with boulders, unique grasses and trees. I’m confident this space will only get better with time.
Scott and his crew were dependable and professional. They showed up when they say they would and completed both jobs quickly and with minimal disruption.

Working with Mike and his team was such a pleasure on all accounts! They were timely, always prepared and reasonable with excellent workmanship. The final result of our irrigation was fantastic and beyond our expectations.. It was our first time working with them but won't be the last. Thank you Mike and crew!

We retained O'Connell Landscape for the design and build out of both our front and back yards at our home in Cotati. We were very happy with the design process and their flexibility for accepting changes as we proceeded. The build out process was done very professionally and we were able to work with them along the way. We are very happy with the end product and have gotten many favorable comments from our neighbors. We have since had them do two smaller projects for us. They have also been very responsive on coming back out to deal with minor issues that crop up.

Working with Michael at O'Connell Landscape (OCL) was an absolute pleasure. He was extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of the work, collaborative, always managed our expectations, and used technology (website photo surveys, online forms, etc.) to roll thru the design process efficiently. OCL may not be the least expensive option out there, but if you want extremely professional work with an eye for quality control and responsiveness, you will find it here. He was able to make our vision into a reality that extended our usable space outdoors. We will definitely be working with OCL again!

Michael and his team recently completed a complete renovation of our outdoor landscaping. We did extensive use of pavers, woodwork, lighting, drainage and of course planting. Michael is clearly very knowledgeable about landscaping and provided excellent advice on design and implementation. We are very happy with the quality of his work and his very reasonable pricing. Highly recommended!

Our experience with O’Connell Landscape from beginning to end was exceptional. Michael came to our house, listened to our thoughts and ideas and came up with the perfect design for our front and back yards. They took our ugly, weed infested yards and created an oasis. Michael and his crew were very professional and super easy to work with. Any questions or concerns were addressed in a very timely manner. We can not express how much we love our new "Shangri La"!

Working with O'Connell Landscape was the best experience I have ever had working with a residential contractor. They completely exceeded my expectations in terms of the design, the experience and the result. After moving to a home on Novato Creek, we wanted to reclaim our yard from a jungle of ivy and untended plantings, level it out, improve the drainage, and create a beautiful, useable yard. We wanted the project to include a patio, fire pit, sitting wall, paths, attractive retaining wail, and fountain. O'Connell gave us a design that incorporated all of our ideas, and worked with us to bring it into our budget. Once the job started and we inevitably wanted some changes, they gave us immediate feedback on the exact cost so we could make informed decisions. As the job went on, I realized that they had incorporated small design elements that made the yard even more beautiful than I had imagined. They worked on the yard consistently, never abandoning it to work on other projects, and got it done before Christmas, which I had hoped for but not expected. After the job they walked us through the yard to provide information on running the systems and maintaining the plants, and gave us written information and a video. Micheal O'Connell was easy to reach, very responsive, and the team was great. I can recommend them with no reservations.

Michael and his team at O'Connell Landscaping recently finished a project to transform our dirt backyard into something we can enjoy. From a rough initial concept to a completed yard with plantings, pavers, pathing and even a pergola, the team did incredible work across the board from start to finish.

Everything was approached with professionalism and courtesy. Michael's design insights helped us make the most of the space (even going through several iterations) and he managed the project extremely well once we got started. We received weekly updates, things went according to schedule, the crew was on site every day, and most importantly when little snags did come up we were always kept in the loop so we never felt surprised. The core crew members for our project (Ubaldo and Edgar) were meticulous in every detail. The whole team made it very easy to not fret and just watch the project go through its stages.

Our experience with O'Connell Landscaping was great. The end result is something we will enjoy for years to come. So long as we live in this area, O'Connell Landscaping will be our go-to outfit for any future landscaping projects.

I cannot recommend Michael O'Connell and his team enough. All of the work was done with the utmost integrity from start to finish. He was meticulous, organized, and knew exactly what I needed for my property. His depth and breadth of knowledge of agriculture, landscape, and carpentry is impressive. The transformation of my property was incredible. I started with a dirt lot and now I have an oasis I can relax in and enjoy every day. While he may not be the cheapest, he was worth every cent. I highly recommend you to contact him for landscaping.

We were very pleased with O’Connell Landscape, from our first meeting with Michael to the completed project of our frontyard, backyard and driveway. Michael was able to take our vision and with his expertise in landscape design exceeded our expectations for our project. The crew was great, they were always on time and at the end of each workday the work areas were straightened and ready for the following day. We had a lot of cement work done and were very pleased with the concrete contractor’s skill with color and design.

We appreciated the landscape drawings that Michael prepared which helped us visualize what the project would look like at completion. The informational booklet that Michael put together for the types and care of the many different plants and trees is proving to be very helpful.

I could not be more pleased with O’Connell Landscape - they are the best!

Our new home was nothing but clay and dirt which was transformed into a warm and welcoming Tuscan landscape in front and back.

Throughout the design process Michael was patient with my questions, was excellent at listening to what I wanted and incorporating those concepts into a realistic design. He was always very transparent about costs so that when the project was completed there were no budgetary surprises.

Reuben and his crew are expert and knowledgeable at all that they do. They are diligent, experienced, hardworking and competent. They were never intrusive or disruptive to the goings on in our home - and always cleaned up before leaving the project each day.

Michael managed the entire process throughout the duration of the project, regularly checking in with Reuben while always continuing excellent communication with me. He was extremely helpful when it came to selection of materials including a back yard fountain and in identifying vendors that were of interest to me. When the project was complete, Michael prepared a booklet that he reviewed with me listing all the plantings and materials used as well as complete garden care specific to my landscaping.

Working with Michael, beginning with design, to material and planning decisions, and throughout the actual build out was a seamless process and a huge plus.

Our landscaping is beautiful - and it was an absolute pleasure working with Michael.

We were in need of a completely new look for our boring, rectangular, flat backyard. Of the design/build firms we contacted, Michael O'Connell of O'Connell Landscape was by far the most responsive, thoughtful and creative. He was familiar with our neighborhood and was interested in working with the mid-century design elements we were hoping to complement. He was willing to work with our rough, preliminary sketches and bring them up to a highly professional level.
The O'Connell Landscape team was exceptional. Since it was COVID-time, Michael had the same two highly skilled workers on the job, start to finish. They showed up every day at 7:00 and did everything from complete demo of two patios, tree, root, rock and dirt removal, to laying the DG pathways, setting the concrete forms, laying electrical conduit and all new irrigation, building the fences and an outdoor shower and all the plantings. They wore masks consistently and Michael provided two separate portapotties to ensure their safety.
Michael provided regular updates on the job and detailed invoices. He did not go over budget, except for the changes we wanted and approved. There were some unforeseen issues (a second, old concrete patio hidden under the visible concrete that also had to be demo-ed, for example) and he itemized the extra costs clearly and in writing and made sure we authorized everything.
We just love our new yard. It is exactly what we wanted and the entire process was so much easier than some of our other remodel projects, due to Michael O'Connell's professionalism and attention to detail.

Working with O’Connell Landscape to complete our back yard renovation was an incredible experience through and through. Michael and his team were prompt, professional, and thoughtful about every detail. Michael has such a creative eye for design and his masterpiece came to life beautifully. We needed EVERYTHING done, from drainage to root removal to hard scapes to artificial turf and garden installation. They proved to be experts with it all. I can’t rate them high enough. You won’t be disappointed!

From start to finish O’Connell Landscape delivered the best residential landscaping project we’ve ever experienced. Michael listened carefully to what we wanted for our sloped backyard in Cotati, then provided a beautiful, thorough plan - that also was adaptable when necessary. As retired people at home watching crew leader Ruben and his men working diligently every day, we saw the thoroughness, and precision, in their work as well. It was clear that Michael, Ruben and the crew were communicating about the project, making sure everyone was on the same page. The paved patio they did for us looks amazing. And Michael’s plant choices were spot on. Also, during all phases of the project Michael responded quickly and courteously to any of our questions/concerns - which were all relatively minor because it’s clear that he and Ruben have a lot of landscaping experience between them. We felt confidence in them, could relax while they did the job, and now we have a charming backyard to enjoy!

From the outset, Michael’s approach was organized and detailed with proposal, planning, and execution. We appreciated his communication cadence and found the whole process to be very transparent.
