I had solar panels installed a few years ago, and a while ago I was ready to have the same company install a solar battery. Two problems: they couldn’t get the storage battery that I wanted in a timely fashion, and they were no longer a local company; I was dealing with a sales person located a few hundred miles away. Enter Blake Sorenson, a sales person for Burtek Energy, a local company. He and his associate, Jay Burden, were very responsive to my emails, phone calls, and face-to-face meetings, and helped me understand that the storage battery, made locally by NeoVolta, is a superior product (safer, longer lasting, and more efficient) compared to the other product. Blake also helped me deal with SDG&E, not an insignificant accomplishment. These individuals, including the owner of local battery manufacturer, NeoVolta, personally visited my home a number of times to ensure that my system met my needs (my goal wasn’t to lower my electric bill, which was near zero, but to increase the likelihood that I would have sufficient energy reserves in case of a prolonged power grid failure—an increasing risk!). To that end, I also had them add a few more SunPower solar panels (also top of the line and made in America). So whether your primary goal is to lower your annual cost of electricity, or to survive a prolonged power outage, or to help decrease your carbon footprint in an effort to decrease global warming, I highly recommend Burtek Energy. One last comment: I HATE high pressure sales people, and I never once felt pressured, I felt enlightened!

I was curious about solar, and happened to stumble upon Burtek's booth at a local farmer's market. I chatted up the salesperson there, who ended up being my main POC, Blake Sorensen. He was very patient with me and was always willing to answer any of my questions/doubts by laying out facts instead of guilt. We met many times prior to him even securing commitment from me. I met with several other companies, including some of Sunpower's Master dealers, but none of them could measure up to Burtek (and Blake's) attentiveness and customer service.

Once all the papers were signed, he continued to maintain dialogue between Sunpower and myself. I highly recommend Blake and his team at Burtek.

This company is very professional and does quality installations. The crew was great and very detail oriented. Blake Sorensen was particularly great as the Energy Consultant and Project Manager. He basically held my hand the whole way through. Any questions or needed communications were address very quickly by Blake. They may be a little more expensive than other companies but SunPower has the best quality product and hires the best installers and representatives.

I began the solar panel installation process with SunPower, and the company handled the site survey. Eric was extremely knowledgeable and answered all my questions, no matter how trivial they seemed. He took his time to go over the small details, and his honesty and approachable demeanor put all my concerns to rest. I highly recommend this company to anyone considering solar panels or HVAC systems.

Ryan was very knowledgable and professional, guiding us through the process. Very pleased with the solar system Burtek installed, well designed, looks great, and provides one of the best warranty that we’ve found. Everything was done in house from financing, install to service. Would definitely recommend Burtek to cover your solar needs. Ryan really took the time to answer our questions and made sure to follow up after we got up and running.

Looking for solar we pulled in a few companies for quotes. Blake at BURTEK did an excellent job with the proposal and follow up. This continued through the entire project as he stayed involved in all communications. At one point we thought there might be a bit of a setback and he was there to check on it immediately. The rest of the team was great as well, and worked with our requests onsite. The entire process was quicker than expected and the value makes this a no brainer. Eric, a Burtek company electrician, inspected our solar system today for the purpose of giving us an estimate. He was courteous. He explained his findings clearly and made sure my questions were answered. The price for this service was the most reasonable I have found in the past month of searching.

I started my solar project by contacting several companies and the one that really stood up is Burtek Energy.

I specifically worked with Blake Sorensen who supervised the entire project from the estimation of the energy requirements to the final inspection. He was absolutely professional, always on top of the whole situation at any stage of the work, and he represented the ideal liaison between the installer, the admin department and the inspectors.

We had to go through a couple of changes along the way, and he was always able to explain the reasons behind the modification; furthermore, he was always able to provide a timely reminder prior any scheduled visit and I definitively recommend Burtek Energy and specifically Blake for any serious solar project.

Last but not least, there were no bad surprises. The price he indicated to me at his first visit was honored and the schedule was met as predicted. I am a very satisfied customer of Burtek Energy and they deserve the 5 start rating.

I was a little apprehensive about moving forward with Sunpower, after the recent email I received from them concerning a major change in their company regarding installation. All my reservations vanished as soon as I met Eric Loveday, when he came to my home to do his site survey. He was polite, professional, and informative. He answered all of my questions in a way that I could understand what to expect moving forward with the installation. I look forward to his return on the project. Sunpower and Burtek are very fortunate to have him on their team.

Better late than never. I would like to recommend Burtek Energy to anyone that wants/needs roofing with solar panels. Ilyan was one of the few company representatives that actually took the time to come to my house, do a detailed inspection and work with me to come up with a solution that works for my family. I was able to find his company’s information through SunPower’s approved contactors/dealers. Overall, my family is pleased with the outcome. From the initial roof inspection, to finally turning on the system and watching it convert solar energy into electricity to power our home, was remarkable. Yes, there were some hiccups here and there, due to weather delays, and the city taking its time to approve the final stages of the project. Nonetheless, the roofing guys treated my house as theirs and did a thorough job. The solar panels team were also great. The roof is in great shape and the solar panels are powering our home. Burtek Energy installed my Solar years ago. I reached out to them when my system, while still working fine, wasn't communicating my output to SunPower and my home report was generating a blank report of my usage. Jay responded right away and set up a warranty visit for me. Eric, the technician, came out first thing in the a.m. and was very personable and professional. He found another issue with my system and reported it to SunPower right away and it is being addressed.

To summarize my experience with them they have been knowledgable on the process and legal process, accommodating with the thousands of channels my home + HOA provided, communicative and quick in terms of scheduling and delays, and lastly all around a good group of ethical people to work with.

I've had a great experience working with BURTEK Energy, starting with Ryan LaFleur who spent the time to explain the different battery options for my existing solar panels. I never felt pressured throughout the process. Ryan was very responsive when I had questions for him.

The installation also went well with Jay Burden, lead electrician Saul and team. The installers worked efficiently, answered any questions I had, and cleaned up after themselves. Another visit was made to configure the Wi-Fi monitoring and to optimize some battery settings.

Had BURTEK come out to pull a wire for a patio cover that will be installed. What I thought was a simple and straight forward job turned out to be a bit more complicated. Eric tested the wire I had identified to be extended, but it wasn’t connected to the switch I thought/wanted it to be connected to. Eric crawled through the attic, found the wire from the switch and also the unconnected end. After finding the end he installed a junction box in the attic, ran the wire to the outside to the patio area and installed a second junction box so the patio cover installers will be able to easily connect the electrical. Eric did a fantastic job, was professional and cleaned up after the job was done.

Burtek is THE company to go with! The renovation they did for us came out beautiful! Not only did they do a beautiful job, but they built my daughter’s room in 8 days. Wildly impressed by Ilyan, Jay, and the super helpful electrician that works there too!

Burtek installed our home solar system. Great work and excellent communication through the process. After a year I decided we needed a couple of more panels and Oscar helped us to get a great deal to install two more. Oscar got us a good price and the installer showed up on time and added the panels quickly. They have also helped to transition us from Sunpower to a new app to monitor our panels.
