Electrical reviews in Salinas, California

They are not shy about price gouging.
Suspiciously, their listed address (1628 N Main Street #143 Salinas) doesn't seem to exist; the building is there, but the business and that suite number are not.
After looking up the cost of the exact materials they used, I discovered that they marked up their materials fee by about 500%. I complained and they gave a small discount, equivalent to *only* a 300% markup - this on top of charging an absolute premium and a half on labor.
Their math: 80 minutes of basic labor + $41 of materials = $600 -

I gave JM electric 5 stars because they have done great job and always on top of everything. Charlie serviced my facility and so far so good! I never call anyone if I need things done at my facility because I only trust JM electric. You can request for Charlie and also the previous manager Steve is awesome and so is the new management run by David! Look no further call JM electric for any of your electrical needs.

While having some work done outside my house, a piece of equipment blew a circuit. Wifi, phone, overhead lights didn't work. After making a few calls and getting no help, JM Electric came to the rescue! While on the phone, he suggested I try flipping all the circuits off, not just the one that looked like it had flipped. The second circuit I flipped off then on solved the problem! Very pleased with his expertise and willingness to help me without charge. Will definitely call on JM Electric again.

Seriously, don't waste you're time with these guys unless you're trying to get overcharged for minimal work. Allow me explain:
I called them in to install 16 LED canopy fixtures(that I bought at a local company and they recommended these guys.); the electrician told me that he does this job all the time and he said it was a simple mount and hard wire. So based off of what he told me I assumed that the very first fixture was going to take an hour or two longer, because I understand that the electrician has to figure out how to retrofit the led fixture that we provided.
So he told me to give him time the first day to get the hang of the new fixtures, then the rest will be easier and faster to do. After spending 3.5 hours researching one fixture he concluded he needed to call his boss in for a second opinion. After discussing with his boss, Steve, we concluded we needed to contact the manufacture for instructions on snipping the power connector to the LED fixtures. A couple weeks later I called JM back after getting instructions we decided to proceed with the way their electrician suggested. We are still on just one fixture at this point, which has been "semi-mounted" for more than two weeks. The second time they came out to work on the project, they spent 5 hours trying to fit the ballast the way they suggested in the beginning. At this point I stopped the work because of the incurred hours, and the fact that they were still working on the first fixture. I told them I will contact the manufacture regarding installation instructions AGAIN because I noticed the work is taking too long, and the way they suggested how the ballast to be mounted would cause it to be in contact with the weather.
So in the end, I called another company(Wright Bros) in to get an estimate and get a second opinion on installation procedures. They came through and set everything up with no issues what so ever. They even went above and beyond their scope of work installing covers for the ballast, and all within half the time JM Electric would have taken.
JM Electric made me feel like I got taken advantaged of, they sent me a bill for 8.5 hours of incurred labor, But these guys literally stood around scratching their head at $125/hour and only got one fixture done. That is absolutely absurd.
The grand total for the incurred labor: $1062.5
To EVERYONE out there that needs electrical work done, please BEWARE of these guys, I don't want what happened to me to happen to anyone else. Thanks for reading
