Tree reviews in San Anselmo, California

We have enjoyed working with Ben for about three years now. He regularly helps us maintain two very large trees. We find his advice to be practical, thorough, and science oriented. We have needed advice on construction projects that were near our trees, and he was able to advise on how to protect the trees through those projects, he also was able to help us through a recently legal matter involving a neighbor. Ben is prompt and is usually able to come quickly, and we also appreciate that he is community oriented with his true planting efforts and policy contributions. highly recommend.

We are the owners and designers of a nearly 4,000 square foot high-end home in Marin County for which we recently completed new construction. Our plans and completed project included significant landscaping, including the installation and irrigation of more than 60 mature trees of various species, as well as multiple shrubs, flowers and other plants. We hired a general contractor, landscape contractor and numerous subcontractors. We also had to navigate situations in which we needed to ensure construction would not disrupt the health of existing trees around the property.
Prior to discovering Ben Anderson, we had engaged two other ISA Board Certified arborists who are well-regarded and expert consultants in the wider Bay Area. We brought Ben in for an additional perspective and immediately were impressed by his breadth and depth of knowledge and experience, and attention to detail. Ben clearly stood out from other arborists and immediately became our preferred arborist for multiple engagements throughout our project. We still engage him today and annually for ongoing assessments and recommendations to ensure our landscape investments continue to thrive.
As example projects Ben has handled for us, we hired him to (a) assess existing tree health and recommend a course of action for navigating planned construction to preserve those existing trees; (b) diagnose a section of trees that were showing signs of illness and poor health, and recommend a plan for recovery; (c) supervise planting by landscape contractors and nurseries, including steps to optimize likelihood of proper soil conditions and irrigation; and (d) conduct detailed soil assessments at multiple planting locations.
Most notably, Ben is reliable, thoughtful, efficient, honest and always professional. He consistently exhibits a sincere care for the environment and is mindful of cost when devising practical solutions. He is highly educated and conversant across tree and plant species; insects, diseases and other factors that can impact tree health; and climate zones and care regimens. We cannot speak highly enough about him and his commitment to his work. -
I’ve had the chance to work with Urban Forestry Associates (Ben Anderson) several times as a consultant in Real Estate Transactions, and it’s always been a great experience. What I really appreciate is that they’re not in the business of cutting trees, so you know you’re getting honest, unbiased advice not a pitch for a removal job. That way the client can make an informed decision good or bad.
Ben shoots straight and isn’t afraid to tell you when something looks good or when it doesn’t. I trust his opinion, and I feel confident recommending him to my clients anytime they need a true expert on anything tree related. -
Natalie and her co-workers were the most incredible team of gardener workers to trim the vegetation on my property for fire compliance!!! Natalie and I first went over the entire property, and she explained what needed trimming from the Berkeley Fire Dept overview, and I asked her to amend some aspects. Her crew was extremely professional and created a beautiful result making the property much safer in Zone O from fire danger. I highly recommend her Small World Tree Company for any property needing vegetation removal, and having a great result.

Natalie and her team did great work trimming and thinning several trees near our roof, including two Magnolias, a live Oak and a Redwood. They also left the yard very clean afterword. We would recommend their work to anyone.

We have been customers of Small World Tree for over twenty years and are constantly impressed with their work and dedication to staying ahead of the challenges facing us in Marin. When we first saw signs of Sudden Oak Death, they were extremely helpful in helping us treat the trees and looking for ways to mitigate any spread. As wildfire became more of a concern, they were on the leading edge of vegetation management. We know they have the expertise to make the best decisions. They also have the best crews. Their team has been working with us for many years and we are delighted to see them. They put safety first and clean up better than they found things.
