We had occasion in 2013, to use Set-In-Stone to polish a marble vanity with a deep circular etching from a glass placed on the marble. The worker was very efficient and removed the etching completely. 12 years and a different home later, after receiving other referrals, I found David Aardema's Set-In-Stone telephone number in my contacts. He came to our home to address issues with a couple of chips in our new quartzite kitchen counters, etchings in the marble on the bathroom, a broken soap shelf in the travertine shower as well has filling and polishing the travertine floors. David provided me an estimate for the entire job and worked with me on a date for the work to be performed. The corner shower shelf was made of two slabs of travertine, secured to the wall with a steel biscuit and epoxy. The biscuit had rusted through in the 35 years since the home was built. During the sleeping hours the bottom half of the self crashed to the floor and was in pieces. I had taped the pieces together the best I could, for someone to use as a template to cut another shelf. David said the pieces could be put back together with epoxy, saving the cost of recutting a piece of travertine. The shower shelf and the chips in the quartzite kitchen counters were repaired by Robert Skidmore. Without a magnifying glass, neither the broken shelf or the chips in the quartzite are are visible. Byron recaulked the shower, polished the marble surfaces in the master bathroom and polished the travertine floor in the kitchen and addressed some other minor issues. The work performed by both men was Excellent! The result better than expected. After finishing a 2022 remodel and seeing the contractor's use of another company to finish the kitchen stone, I was even more impressed with Set-In-Stone. These are Real Craftsmen.

The before and after photos speak for themselves! Set in Stone Restoration did an amazing job cleaning our kitchen and bathroom porcelain tiles. After 12 years living in our apartment the grout on our tile is as good as new! David and Robert were professional and responsive. They did a great job and very please with the outcome. We recommend them for any of your flooring restoration.

This is my second time using Set In Stone to refinish my unfortunate limestone counter tops. I was entirely satisfied with service one year previously, and to my surprise, they came out even BETTER this time. To spite all my efforts, my natural stone countertops etch, and I had some severe marks. Robert did an absolutely incredibly job, they look better than brand new due to his superior caulking skills. If you have any stone work in your house and are in despair about it's condition, I highly recommend d giving Set In Stone a call. They have my highest recommendation and my business for life!

This is at least the third time David's company "Set in Stone" refinished our quartzite floors (hallways, kitchen, family room, 2 bathrooms (walk-in shower and designated walls), and office). Each time his team left them clean as new. Shout out to Byron for once again doing a fantastic job. He masked off all entry ways to prevent splatter, cleaned and sealed tile and left the remainder of our house as when he arrived.

David quickly provided a quote to have my travertine floors and shower cleaned and buffed. I was scheduled within the week. Jordan arrived on time and we did a quick recap of the work to be done to make sure we were all on the same page. He managed my expectations very well. My floors and shower look great and I am very happy with the result.

Cesar did an outstanding job for us! Beyond that, he is a polite, well-groomed and considerate person. Everything looks fabulous and we will insist on Cesar when next we need help from Set In Stone.

Had Set in Stone back again. Usually use for maintenance, but had to have work done on the house and my travertine really took a beating. Set in Stone Resoration came in, on time, and cleaned up my mess. They saved me from buying a complete new vanity, and my old vanity now looks brand new.

I am extremely happy and should have called them from the beginning.

I would definitely recommend leaving this type of art to the pros.

Set in Stone did a fantastic job refinishing my travertine bathroom counters, floor, and shower. Wow! It looks great. Jordan was very skilled and pleasant and he went above and beyond. The charges were very reasonable. Great experience, overall!

I have a lot of exterior stone surfaces around my property and the condition was deteriorating after years of sun and sea air. I contacted David and Robert and they were great from start to finish. They came out and assessed the project, gave me a fair and competitive estimate and followed up quickly with all my questions and concerns. We scheduled this work for early December and they sent a great team led by Cesar to do the work. They were meticulous in cleaning and preparing all the surfaces before sealing. They recommended a high quality topical sealer to meet my needs for color enhancement and semi-gloss finish. The sealer was applied professionally with care for surrounding areas and they even triple coated high wear/high traffic areas!
The results far exceeded my expectations and the tem has been great with following up and making sure they are available if anything should come up with the work.

I know it's difficult top select a company for this type of work but I cannot recommend them more highly. All future stone work will be handled by new new friends at Set in Stone Restoration.

I made an appointment 2 weeks in advance and was told that I would be sent paperwork shortly. I reached out a week later because I never got a contract, but it turns out David accidentally deleted my information. David confirmed my repair, but never sent any paperwork before the appointment.

Seven minutes before the technician was scheduled to arrive, David called saying he was sick. We rescheduled the following week and David emailed a contract the night before the 2nd appointment. Nobody showed up and David didn’t answer his phone. Two hours later, David apologized saying the technician couldn’t come because traffic was bad. We rescheduled a 3rd time. When nobody showed up yet again, I contacted David and he said he hit the wrong button on his phone and told the technician the wrong time.

Because the technician started 45 minutes late, I had to leave before I could see the final result. I sent a photo of the repair to David asking if it was possible to darken the epoxy (off white) to match the surrounding granite (dark brown). David said it would be an easy 20 min fix. However, David told the technician that the epoxy wasn’t filled in all the way, not that I wanted a color match. The technician explained that changing the color would damage the granite. When I told David what the technician said, David had a meltdown. When the technician told me it couldn’t be done, I said it was fine- I was just letting David know what happened. We could have chalked it up to a simple miscommunication in expectations and moved on, but David chose to be argumentative and hostile.

Multiple reviews on Google and Yelp state that Set-in-Stone Restoration is unreliable and unprofessional. I should have listened to them!

We chose Set in Stone to clean travertine floors in 2 bathrooms, the tile on the balcony, and polish the granite countertops. They offered a fair price that was more reflective of a preservation-based approach than just steam cleaning. They also recaulked the tubs and the kitchen sink, where the caulk had shriveled up over time, and color matched the sink caulk to the granite, which was a big improvement over the old builder grade white. Jordan did a great job. The balcony looks fantastic, and the granite countertops are shiny and smooth, like they were brand new.

I lucked up and was able to get an appointment quickly. Byron refinished our shower floor and the step into the shower. He did a great job, it looks brand new! The company was recommended by Arizona Tile and I’m happy I called for the referral. It was very easy to deal with the owner too.

I met David the owner of Set In Stone through my tile installer and I've used them a few times. Couldn't be happier with their work and their flexibility - David's a great guy and always available. The latest job was cleaning and sealing an outdoor limestone patio, performed by Cesar. Eight years old and came out looking like new - actually a little better with the buff he put on it! Already planning to have him do another patio.

PM Tom Rutledge came out multiple times to adjust the proposed rain gutter install as needed. Later, his team arrived on time and did great placement of downspouts, twisting to the contours of the exterior wood framing of our two story. The end result looks great, and real rain testing within a few days showed all working as expected, no problems!

Our gutters look amazing... This company is very professional. They even matched the fasteners! I only wish I had the gutters installed earlier but I hesitated thinking it would impact the design. Instead it only made the house look better.
