Never responded after first communication. Poor communication and no follow through. Do not use this guy.

We just finished a large landscape project where Black Mountain Landscape Design was our design contractor. We were extremely impressed with everything about the work that Glenn from BMLD did for us. The initial consultation, the three different professional drafts of the design, the expertise about plants that would work well in our yards, the excellent recommendations regarding contractors to do the installation, and the day Glenn spent working with that contractor staging everything -- all first class. And the price was very reasonable, as well, for professional, responsive, high-quality work throughout the project. We highly recommend Black Mountain Landscape Design.

We needed a landscape designer to help us redo our entire yard—front, back, and sides. After interviewing 3 designers, we picked Glenn. We liked that Glenn had a plain-English written agreement, that his fee would cover 3 meetings and up to 3 versions of his design, that he would come back to place the plants, and then again to do a final walk-through. As icing on the cake, Glenn’s agreement also included referrals to several reliable landscape contractors for installation and maintenance. We described the landscape style that we wanted, and Glenn turned our concept into a detailed design, including choices for plants, boulders, and stones. With installation just completed, Glenn’s design has turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. We couldn’t be happier.

Black Mountain Landscape Design started strong, but the quality of work quickly became frustrating. Some plants died within weeks, and the cleanup after the job was incomplete. I expected much better professionalism for the price we paid.

We've used Glenn at Black Mountain Landscape initially for our front courtyard but were so pleased with the results that we had him just recently design and help with supplying the plants for the backyard as well. He has contacts with local area contractors that can also dig the holes and do the planting if that is also what you need. But most important is that without a great landscape design, you are left to struggles on your own. Black Mountain Landscape came to our rescue and it was well worth it.

The quality of the plants and flowers, especially the Roses, is the best in the area. The people are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Beautiful store and grounds. Highly recommend!!

Good neighborhood nursery. Nice plants, good service. Well stocked. More pricey than home depot, but usually better quality plants.

I really enjoy this garden center. The people are so helpful. The do stock a good variety of plants in season and other things, like garden lights are available. Their plants last, too.

It isn't the largest nursery in town, but they have an excellent selection of plants and trees, gardening supplies, plant food, and even nice patio furniture. Best thing though is that their staff is extremely knowledgeable. You have a question? They have the answer.

The nursery in the Rancho Peñasquitos has good selection of plants, employees are helpful. Free garden courses are informative. It’s one of my favorite nurseries

At the Rancho Penasquitos location this morning, I was greeted pleasantly by Dylan. Dylan offered assistance. When I found a plant that was so neat, but by itself and with no tag id, Dylan offered to look it up online. When that failed, he enlisted the help of a 'supervisor ', who was more worried about answering a phone than aiding us. I'd easily give 5 stars to Dylan, who offered even to hold my plant for me while I shopped across the way. I'm giving 3 stars because 1. The supervisor dropped the ball (I was the only customer) 2. Wow. The pots are SO over-priced. Rite-aid has pots the same/similar for half off $4.99-$9.99 and they're charging $13.99-$19.99!! The plant selection is amazing and healthy, though and that saves it!

Manager was exceptionally helpful in resolving an issue we had with a special order. The manager’s ability to listen to our concerns and quickly address the issue turned an unfortunate situation into future purchases.

There's nothing more frustrating than to walk in to a business and not be acknowledged by an employee. There were about 5 employees around, and not one approached to ask if i needed help. I was there to make some purchases but decided to leave. Their loss!!!

I love to wander through this well-kept nursery. All the flowers look so luscious and healthy. The decor that you can buy to beautify your garden or patio are gorgeous, one of kind.

i just recently bought an english lavender plant from this store. i was uneducated on what a healthy lavender plant looks like. none of the lavender plants at this store looked healthy! they had too much woody growth and they were overwatered. i am very disappointed. the customer service was great though.

Great food, but a bit costly.

Very knowledgeable staff and they are very helpful too. Take a picture of struggling plant and generally they provide very good suggestions. Sometime taking an infected leaf is also helpful. Overall very good place.

I bought a Hoya Kerrii on the 4th of this month. It looked neglected and in need of water so I asked for a discount then brought it home. Gave it a good drink but for 3 days, all of the 8 leaves were still wrinkled so I unpotted it. There were 4 plants in the pot and 3 were rotted so badly that I couldn't rehab. The 4th one with one good leaf was rotted too but I cut off all the damaged roots and hopefully I can save it. Today I went to check on it, the only good leaf fell off but the plant is still standing. Even though I got a discount, I really regret my purchase. I will never make that mistake again.

Also please get rid of the 'self watering' African Violet and just sell the plants alone. That is just a pot without a wick sitting in water and eventually will kill the plant. I took mine out of the pot and repotted it because it was soaking wet. Now it's being bagged after repot and the blooms are not going to make it.

I've been a fan of the shop for quite a few years and never never had such an experience. I'll probably stay clear for a while.

The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable about gardening. The price here is slightly higher then your neighborhood home project stores, but the qualities of the plants are better. Full service nursery, plants, pots, soil, fertilizers, garden deco, etc.

I do not recommend Armstrong nursery to anyone, because they don't have service, they only know how to sell to you. Bought an indoor coffee tree a few months ago, after 2 months the leafs started to fall. I went there to see if they could help me to save it. I wasn't asking for a return, I just needed a professional to help me save this plant. But they did not provide after service, actually they don't have service at all. I would never go back to Armstrong again.I would never recommend to any of my clients.
